Want the best of both worlds - rural and city? Then you need to stay at High Hill Inn. Located on 47 acres of gorgeous land, you'll get to watch, from your room, the deer grazing in the evening and early morning. And yet, in 10 minutes, you can be in downtown Montpelier! Our room had some of the softest linens I've ever encountered (both sheets and towels). The breakfasts in the morning are varied, but if you're lucky, you'll hit the morning that Joe cooks French toast, made from thick slices of bread from a local bakery, along with Vermont maple syrup and his homemade berry reduction sauce. Added bonus, meeting the two yard cats and the two goats.

My fiancé and I have a wonderful, peaceful stay. Our room and bathroom were luxurious and spacious. The mattress was so comfortable. The views were gorgeous. Joe and Ann-Marie were so kind and helpful. Joe gave us a great recommendation for dinner, made our reservations, and gave us the perfect tip for getting the best table with a view. Joe made us a tasty breakfast that filled us until late afternoon. I can't wait to return to High Hill.

Casal idoso simpático recebe muito bem. Próximo da cidade com vista pra montanha. Frequente visita de animais silvestres que se podem ver pela janela do quarto.

What a peaceful overnight in the hills of Montpelier. A quick drive to downtown for dinner but away from it all. We arrived just in time to catch the sunset from the patio as well as a couple of deers. We stayed in the Mountain View Queen that even though the bathroom is not inside the room itself, we still had a private bath right next door. With only one other room on that floor, we rarely ran into the other guests, until breakfast. Breakfast started with a yogurt parfait, followed by French Toast and bacon with delicious local Morse Farm syrup that I loved so much, I went to pick up some to bring home. After just one night, I already felt at home that before leaving, I checked out the other two options and fell in love with the Mountain View King for next time.

My wife, daughter and I stayed at the High Hill Inn to watch the April 8 total solar eclipse visible from Montpelier. It was incredible! Our stay was wonderful. Ann Marie and Joe were great hosts. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Our hosts made a delicious, homemade breakfast The inn is located at the top of a hill with a magnificent view . We had great conversations as though we were with family. I highly recommend the High Hill Inn for a relaxing stay.

I travel a lot for business; over 150 days out of the year. Generally I stay in chain hotels. I am glad that I stayed at High Hill Inn on this trip. The location was convenient. The home was quiet. The beds were extremely comfortable. I stayed in the loft room one night and the King size bed the next. I am 6’ tall and found the loft to be very cozy. The king size bedroom has an incredible vista of breathtaking mountain ranges for as far as I could see. Breakfast was served hot at the 730 hour that I requested. Bacon, eggs and toast with yogurt and orange juice. The hosts were very accommodating and kind. They gave me the impression that if to wanted to engage in conversation we could, or if I wanted privacy, they’d leave me alone. I’m glad that I chose to engage in conversation. I had about 30 minutes before needing to head to work and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the hosts. I feel like I have made lifelong friends at High Hill Inn. I’d like to return with my entire family and go skiing at one of the nearby resorts.

We were greeted with the warmest smile and felt right at home when we first arrived. Ann-Marie is so kind and helpful! The Inn is very cool and cozy. We stayed on the second floor with the king bed. We slept very comfortably and in the morning a ladybug landed on my hand(good luck). We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Yogurt with a homemade berry compote and a spinach and cheese omelette, orange juice, coffee and tea! Delicious and we got to watch her make it which I thought was so awesome!!! Ann-Marie converses well and I loved all we shared in common. There were 5 deer outside while we ate our breakfast grazing in the grass. It was lovely to see them out our bedroom window too! I also loved their two outdoor kitties who were sooo sweet to pet! The room had gorgeous wooden beams, large space, the bathroom has an amazing soaking bathtub with great hot water. My husband and I were able to very comfortable enjoy it together. The shower was also great with the water pressure and cleanliness. I would totally recommend staying here!!! A wonderful experience all around. ❤️
