Well, where do I start! On arrival there were no parking spaces, other than leaving the car in a nearby dodgy looking public car park. The room was small, no wardrobe or drawers, no hooks for coats, not enough shelving to make it worth unpacking. Not enough space to put luggage so that it wasn't in our way on the floor. Mattress was well worn with bobbles we could feel through the sheets. We had a clean and spacious shower room but no shelving or anywhere to place a toothbrush, or anything else, in the shower room. No hairdryer or shaving point in the room which are usually fairly standard. Breakfast; we waited 1 hour 15 minutes for our order to be processed. when the breakfast finally arrived, the sausage wasn't even lukewarm, it was cold. We have never stayed anywhere where the toast is delivered to our table in whole slices, already buttered, and piled on a tea plate! There wasn't any jam/marmalade or honey to put on the toast. There was rarely anyone on reception to deal with queries, it seemed the skeleton staff were multi-tasking in all areas of the hotel. The staff were working hard in difficult circumstances. The overall impression of the hotel is they are struggling to survive and cost-cutting measures are in place, to the detriment of the guests. Thankfully, we were only there 2 nights. Unfortunately, we will not be returning or recommending this establishment to anyone.
