The hotel is walking distance to the central train station Essen HBF. The Chinese restaurant in the city center is about 2 kilometers and 20 minutes. You can also take the subway to the city center. The hotel is also within 2 kilometers from the exhibition hall. In addition, there is a Lidl supermarket within 1 kilometer of the hotel, where you can buy food, drinks, breakfast bread and milk. The hotel's parking lot is open and charges 15 euros all day. Communicate with the front desk on the first day to get some discounts. There is also an Arial gas station near the hotel for refueling after a long journey.

When I got off the taxi, I left my phone in the taxi. When I arrived at the front desk to register, I found that my phone was gone. I was very panicked. Without my phone, I would lose all contact. The receptionist was very helpful. I gave her the receipt and asked her to contact the taxi company for me. After several calls, I finally contacted the taxi driver. Finally, I got my phone back! We were there for a weekend and felt very comfortable. The room was fine, as was the service and breakfast. There was always someone to contact who was available to help and advise. However, the behavior of some guests is sometimes puzzling to me. Hotel employees are just that. Employees. Not personal serfs. In my opinion, it is absolutely reasonable to wait your turn instead of immediately calling for more "staff" and the manager. Like every other guest, we were informed when we checked in that, due to sustainability and high energy costs, the room is only cleaned and refilled every third day. If we were missing something, we just had to let us know. We thought that was OK. Other guests apparently didn't. I don't know how you can use up 2 rolls of toilet paper in less than 24 hours, but I know that you just had to ask nicely. Then the employees would have been just as nice to provide the guest with more rolls. Not listening and not reading, followed by loud outrage, is not a good combination.

Not bad, comprehensive

Cool hotel in a good location. It's a 300m walk to the Bismarckplatz subway station, from where you can take the U17 or U18 one stop to Essen Central Station. The hotel itself has a few paid parking spaces right outside the door. Because we were there at the weekend, we were able to use a free parking space (parking bay) just across the street. The interior is very stylish and all the staff we met were young and very nice. The rooms are nicely furnished, the pictures on the website match exactly what you find on site. We had a room on the 7th floor. It was nice and quiet and the beds are super comfortable. The curtains on the windows make it possible to darken the room properly, which we found very pleasant. The bathroom is big enough and the shower is fun. We enjoyed the opportunity to eat a pizza or tarte flambée at midnight. The beautiful style continues in the breakfast area and the breakfast is great, from Bircher muesli to Igwer shots and pancakes, there is everything your heart desires. We booked the hotel to attend a concert at Seaside Beach. We absolutely recommend this beautiful hotel. If we are in Essen again, we will definitely come back.
