Comfort Inn

We booked this hotel for one night on either end of our road trip to Wisconsin. When we arrived, the reception desk was unmanned. After 5 minutes, I used the phone on the desk to call for assistance. It rang and rang until someone finally answered saying he would be right there. It took another 5 minutes for the desk clerk to appear from the back. After checking us in, he said he would go to our room with us. He walked in ahead of us and sprayed something all around the room and into the air conditioner. When asked what it was, he said it was a "nice smelling spray, it's a good one." One member of our family has asthma so this was not appreciated. Once he left, we opened the window to air out the room. That night, there was a very unpleasant musty smell, which must have been the reason for the spray. At another time that afternoon, our son had been in the hallway knocking to get back into the room. He was then able to enter because the man from the front desk had given him a key card when he saw him trying to get in. It turned out that this was a master key card for the hotel, which we immediately returned to the front desk. Other than these issues, the beds and shower seemed clean, but we were quite turned off from our experience. We cancelled our reservation for the return trip and will not be staying here again.

There aren’t that many hotel options in Fergus Falls, but there’s one fewer for me in the future. Our visit recently included an inquiry on our part about options they Comfort Inn might have for a future visit in which we’d need 10-12 rooms for 2-3 weeks. A very nice front-desk employee showed us around, but a guy who I assume was the owner tracked us down, gruffly asked us about our plans, and immediately shot them down without the slightest pretense of friendliness. He clearly assumed that we were going to want to move a bunch of furniture around (which does NOT happen to be true), and he did not hide his hostility. Ironically, as we walked out of the hotel to get in our car, we saw a nearly 100% empty parking lot—one car besides ours in the whole place. At 5 pm. We’re going to be spending probably around $15,000-20,000 for our group’s time in Fergus, but at a pretty nearly empty Comfort Inn we were met with undisguised hostility. The front-desk person was very friendly and warm and we’ll be sorry not to be interacting with her. We found two other hotels nearby where the people were very nice and had good options, so all will be well.

Day 5 of a road trip and Fergus Falls has been a bit of disappointment. Comfort Suites was okay. Room was clean. Very dark. Beds are hard. Fitness Center was locked and Front Desk clerk could not find the key. Breakfast is not great. Lots of processed food choices. No coffee or tea, except in the room.

I have stayed in Fergus Falls a couple times and i stayed here each time. There is a lot of Improvements (renovations) to this Hotel...! The staff are helpful and friendly, they work hard to make you comfortable. Breakfast is Good with a large selection and the Pool and Hot Tub are clean and clear! Thank you all for making our stay nice!

The girl at the desk, Nancy was very helpful. Morning staff was attentive, and breakfast selection was great. Room was alright, needs a new a/c unit, TV has two remotes, worked though. Quiet, clean, and comfy. Will recommend to friends and family.

Jacuzzi suite was awesome, kids loved the pool! Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Room was clean and breakfast was great! Enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend others to stay at this location.

Filthy hotel. Roaches in the room. When I saw that I left 2 days early and booked with another hotel. Shower had black mold growing in the corners of the shower. Toilet lid was broke. Dirty carpet. Stains on the bed base, God knows what that was. The manager was wearing a dirty t-shirt with holes in it and dirty tennis shoes. That pretty much sums up the quality of this hotel. I called the Regional Manager and he never called back. You are on your own if you stay here, becuase they don't care about their customers. I stay in a lot of hotels for business and this was the worst by far.

Might have reviewed higher but...we arrived after midnight and the front desk person who reluctantly checked us in told us our reservation was not valid since it was "the next business day." This is contrary to Comfort Inn's policy on late arrivals. Too convenient that he had no name tag.Told us he was doing us a "big favor" by checking us in. In addition, the room was haphazardly clean like they ran the vacuum as quickly as possible and wiped down surfaces with one swipe at best. Left the luggage rack out of the closet hoping they clean better for the next guest. The smoke alarm in the hallway signalled it needs new batteries. The parking lot was well lit. They are doing renovations on the first floor. Bed was comfortable enough. The front desk convinced us we won't be back to this hotel

We checked in for two nights because there was no other hotel available. We had never stayed at this hotel before. Rate was overpriced for a Comfort Inn at $280 per night. Our room was VERY dirty. When we lifted up the toilet lid there was poop on the inside of the lid. Walls in the bathroom were dirty. No cover on the vent fan. ***** hairs on the bathroom floor and sheets. Fridge smelled awful. Air conditioner vent had dirt or mold on the vents and they had put dryer sheets in the vent. Stains on the wooden headboard and on the back of the desk chair. We also weren't given a king room like we had reserved. We checked out the following day because of how disgusting this hotel was and told them that was why we were checking out. They charged us for both nights. When we asked to speak to their manager they said he would be there the following day and when we called back he wasn't available. I told them to have the manager give me a call and he never called me back. The front desk person told us we had to get a refund from ******* but ******* said the hotel had to give us a refund which they never did!
