Wards Hotel & Restaurant

I had my wedding here and I can honestly say that everyone and everything was amazing, they went above and beyond, the food was out of this world and catered for everyone's needs. Nothing was too much trouble. I have seen quite a few people put this hotel down but if your expecting a 5 star hotel then go stay in 1, this is a family run business, the building is old so yes some things do need abit of tlc but it is still an amazing place. Thank you so much
Holiday Inn Express Folkestone - Channel Tunnel

This is the 4th time I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Folkestone, but the cost of this booking was hugely more than I've had to pay before. The hotel is fine, and the buffet breakfast is excellent, opening at 6am, allowing an early start on Le Shuttle.

Fella 4 doors down said he saw what looked like a lady in Victorian dress pass him on the stairs, he said he was also awoken at 3am by the same apparition standing at the foot of his bed pointing at him. But to be fair he did stink of booze. Not exactly the Chelmsford Hilton but not a bad gaff for the price. Great location, had a feel of a classic hotel about it, bit like the one out of the Shining but with more Jack Duckworth than Jack Nicholson. Drinks in the bar weren't bad but did have to question the scotch as it had an after-taste that bought back memories of intamacy with an ex-Girlfriend who only showered once a week. Situation was sorted imedietely and went onto G&T's with a few Dolly birds up from Hastings so wasnt a problem. A group of locals outside tried to intimidate when one ventured out but after squaring up to the ring leader, fists raised and eyeballs looking like that italian bald ref from back in the day the fella and his cronies sooned backed down. Not sure its a place for youngsters or families but for a 62yr old fella like myself looking for a night away from the Missus its the perfect gaff. Highly recommended.

We stayed here as a stopover before and after our family holiday to France. It's not far from the Le Shuttle terminal. What a great place ! Sharon was really friendly, attentive, helpful and professional. Check-in was quick, smooth and easy. The rooms were exactly as we were expecting- clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you need (the biscuits went down particularly well with our son !!!). Good shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was great- served at exactly the time we'd booked it for. The onsite parking is a real bonus, especially as most on-street parking nearby seems to have restrictions. Overall, highly recommended and we'll be booking again if / when we go back to Europe. Thanks again Sharon :).

Excellent location, train station and Morrison are just 5 minutes away. Easy checkin, nicely decorated and sparkling clean. The property is spacious and look exactly like the pictures. The kitchen have everything we needed. The only thing is there is no extractor hood, so be careful when doing pan fry.

I live in a town so this was perfect for me. I arrived and was welcomed at reception by Chloe. She was amazing, happy, welcoming, chatty, down to Earth which was brilliant. The residents bar was lovely and quaint.Yes its an old style hotel but I love the old style seafront hotels, the decor in my room was abit too much(covered in parrots haha) but that was minor. The room itself was spacious for me,had everything it needed, was perfect for my stay. The bar they have in the basement, well what a night that was. Being served by Connor, and joining my new American friends who also stayed at the hotel,we had an absolute ball. Few too many but lovely cocktails and happy hour,I will say it was a hit aha. I don't have any faults at all with this hotel,it's cheap, cheerful and is perfect where it is overlooking the sea.No curfew coming in,free WiFi,very helpful when it came to asking for information. Couldn't of asked for a happier, more comforting hotel. I would recommend this hotel,a perfect old style seafront hotel,a view to dream about, everything within walking distance, amazing hospitality and care for the residents staying, and for what it costs,it most definately holds its value. Definately somewhere I would stay again xxx
