Good food

The hotel is a 20-minute drive from Fox Glacier. I think it is the best hotel in this town. We booked a rainforest room. There are indeed trees in front of the window and behind the bed. It is a bit creepy at night! However, the service at the hotel front desk is very good, and the breakfast is also rich.

A very good hotel. The concierge will provide free valet parking. The front desk staff are also friendly and enthusiastic. They will answer and satisfy all questions. The dinner is 5 courses and the service is also very good. I am very satisfied. I will stay here next time when I go to the west coast. Will choose.

Very good, service and hardware

One of the few five-star hotels in New Zealand, the front desk is Chinese. The room is also relatively clean, the restaurant in the hotel is delicious, there will be someone to help carry the luggage when you arrive at the store, the overall feeling is good

Rooms were well upholstered. Bathroom modern. Beautiful view of bush. We had a lovely time. It was relatively quiet in Franz when we were there. Five course meal was lovely as was the smorgasbord breakfast Service was also very satisfactory. We will definitely be back here !

We were welcomed with polite staff a drink and hot towels. Shown to our room which was lovely. Unfortunately the heat pump wasn't working, but we were then moved to another room. We settled in. Dinner at the restaurant was divine and the staff exceptional. Breakfast was included with a massive range of food. Rooms were serviced daily. Very comfortable rooms. Weather wasnt that flash. But managed a couple of great walks.

We loved everything about our experience from arrival to departure. Comfortable room, heavenly bedding, we loved the lounge and fire place for a pre-dinner drink. The dinners & breakfasts have been the best we experienced travelling through from Queenstown to Christchurch. The reception & restaurant team outstanding - highly recommended

The staff was absolutely fabulous. I love the investment you guys made in establishing an authentic NZ forest around the hotel and how you are inviting the forest inside with the balconies and big view windows. The Maori carvings in the forest is a great touch that gives everything an authentic feel. I also can not fail to mention that the food was sublime. The dinner (steak and fish) was immaculate and the breakfast was superb. I will seriously consider spending my entire next holiday at this hotel. It is peaceful, serene, in a great setting and the food and service is faultless. Oh, and the bed was just absolutely gorgeous with the duck down thingy over the quality mattress!!! A rare find but most enjoyable.

Located near the stunning Franz Josef Glacier, the Te Waonui Forest Retreat is a well-presented and maintained hotel surrounded by nature. Our twin-bed family room had comfy beds with a balcony opening up onto a beautiful rainforest backdrop. Breakfast was included for our family of four, making the stay great value for money. The hotel was very clean and well-kept. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Overall, it was a memorable stay!
