Extended Stay America Suites - Fresno - North

Fresno|2.81km from Shinzen Friendship Garden Inc.
I stayed 47 days at this facility recently checking out last week. Context: I have stayed at a wide range of hotels from Motel 6 to the Ritz Carlton for business and vacation. This hotel is as the name states. It is for extended stays. Most of the clients I saw were contstruction contractors, truckers, and other types of businesses on the road. There are also long term tenants who seem to be using this as an apartment stay. Pros: -Value: For the price, the value was unbeatable. Hot shower with good pressure. The bed was nice. I got clean sheets once a week. I had a full sized refrigerator, stove, and microwave. There was no garbage disposal and no dishwasher, but for the price I can understand. Service: The front desk was professional and friendly. Keep in mind the pricing. One doesn't expect the Ritz concierge service. Instead it was more like a friendly neighbor helping you out. I met a variety of different front desk staff at different times of the day on weekdays and weekends, and all were professional and courteous with me. The front desk does close at 10pm, but there is an outside phone that you can use. I had to use it at 1:00 AM because when I came back from work my hotel key no longer worked. It changes once a week, and that was the day I had to work late. However, I went to outside phone by the front office and called. The overnight attendant answered the phone and swiped me a couple of keys and was very friendly about it. Security: It was very well lit throughout the parking lot and the hallways. I felt safe overall. I do not think they have any security patrol, but it is so well lit as well as being in part of the town with low crime. -Physical plant: The rooms have linoleum floors. There is no carpet. The rooms are mildly dated, but again, I felt it was fine for the value. I was very comfortable with the furnishings of the room. The TV is a flat screen TV with the usual cable TV assortment and showmax and showmax 2. -Laundry: There are washers and dryers on site. The front desk provides change and detergent for a fee. -Convenience: It is nearby Costco by car. A Shop 'n Go convenience store is down at the corner. It is right next to the highway. -Amenities: Wifi is free and strong. I also contacted the tech support, and the call center person was able to hook up my laptop, iPhones, and iPad to the free wifi for 3 weeks until the end of the month rather than having me renew the wifi connection every 24 hours. That was convenient. Good air conditioning was available, and I used it. They provided me plenty of soap, shampoo, towels, and toilet paper. The kitchenette does not come supplied with pots, pans, etc. You order the setup that you need from the front desk and then pick up your package. This was fine for the value. I had two desks where I could do my work, and that was really nice for catching up on laptop work on my days away from work. They also gave me a t

TownePlace Suites Fresno

I was staying here at Fresno Town Place Suites and had some problems. I went to the manager to express my concerns. She didn't like what I had to say. The next day my rate, which had been the same for the first few weeks, suddenly jumped by $19.00 to $46.00 per night! I asked the front desk why my rate had suddenly jumped and they tried to say it was because I had extended my stay, which I had, but I extended it 10 days before. The manager didn't like that either and refused to adjust my rate back to what it was previously. I am a Lifetime Platinum Elite, so I called the Marriott Elite line. Marriott called the Hotel, talked to Ashley Burney, the manager, and apparently Ashley didn't like that either. Ashley told the Marriot corporate rep that she would honor my current reservation but would not extend my reservation another 19 days. I had already made the reservation through Marriott reservation line and was confirmed for the 19 days at my original lower nightly rate. Ashley cancelled my reservation! This place also required my wife to leave the room while it was being cleaned, not because of Covid, but ”for the safety of all our employees, no exception” yet the maintenance man was allowed to come in our room both with just my wife in the room as well as when both of us were present! Hypocrisy! No exceptions my a**. The rest of the staff were always polite about everything. One thing I did notice is none of the employees there smiled, I don't remember a single time that I came upon any employee that was smiling when I saw them. This would lead me to believe they all hate working there under a micro managing boss. Several times different employees said ”I'm sorry I can't do that, I don't want to get in trouble” this was for minor things I didn't think would be against the ”rules”. If you want to stay at a better place with a better atmosphere, go to Sonesta ES, nicer rooms too for less money! Used to be a Residence Inn!

This hotel has construction, and we were only told upon check-in to expect an 'inconvenience.' The noise beginning early in the morning on Monday, the second night of our stay, was absolutely unbearable, and ruined our morning on the day of preparation for a relatives funeral. Literally sounded like a jackhammer on the wall outside our room. They’re doing stonework. There's dust flying everywhere. There's loose plaster on the carpet in the elevators and the hallways. Construction workers come and go in the elevators alongside customers with all their equipment and mess and noise. There's an operating cherrypicker in the registration area of the parking lot with no safety cones. You walk out the East guest door on the first floor into a total hardhat situation with people doing stonework on ladders overhead, construction material blocking the exit, and the door is usually propped open all day. I politely told the front desk that we unfortunately needed to check out 2 days early due to the noise, and requested a late checkout to 3pm because we had appointments at the church, and funeral home, and hadn't planned to have to change hotels today. Note that I'm a platinum member, and didn't expect this to be an issue whatsoever given the unusual circumstances. I was denied, and asked for the manager, who promptly flatly denied my request with literally the rudest most uncaring expression and flat tone possible. I reinstated my request and attempted to explain my situation, and the manager admitted that the hotel was not booked (obviously because my room was already spoken for for 2 more nights), but still, she flatly denied me. She finally told me it was because the hotel could experience 'loss of revenue.' So I'm here to tell you that if revenue is more important than customer experience or showing compassion to a customer you placed in a difficult situation, I will no longer be staying at La Quinta. I'll certainly never step foot in this one again, in a town I visit every month. And I’ll be demanding a full refund from La Quinta Platinum Customer Service, let’s see where that gets me. I also recommend anyone else over the next few months seriously reconsider. I don't care about your loss of revenue. Close this place, finish it up, and reopen. With a new manager. There are several really nice hotels with similar rates in the immediate area.

Nice hotel in town. Restaurant near by and breakfast was decent.

This is the second time I have stayed at this location. I would continue to come back and stay here each time I visit Fresno. The location is a side street away from Herndon, which means it is close to a major thoroughfare, but a slight distance away from the noise. It is tucked away next to another hotel, which I like because there is less noise, congestion and traffic. There is a CVS and Chili's nearby and can be walked, but is a good long walk. The hotel is currently undergoing remodeling, workers are around, but it did not impact my stay at all. The fourth/top floor is unavailable. The rooms are nice and are a suite, with a small kitchen and living area, adjacent to the bedroom. The lobby area is large and there is breakfast available each morning. The pool area looks nice and redone, though I have not used it. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

Even with the pandemic we were satisfied with the cleanliness and comfortability of this hotel. The staff were great. Special mention to the front office staff Samatha who went out of her way to bring some bathroom necessities because housekeeping is gone for the day. Though there was no continental buffet breakfast that we are used to. The package grab and go breakfast was sufficient. Overall we enjoyed our 2 nights stay in the 2 bedroom suite. Thank you

We went to Yosemite in August and at the end of the day we drove to Fresno to send the night. The hotel room was splendid with high quality furniture and a TV. Despite the hotel being full, there was no much noise so we had a very good night of sleep. There is also free parking on-site. Plus, there is a free breakfast included with a good amount of different items. They require to go to the kitchen area, grab your breakfast and eat it in your room to avoid the spread of COVID. There is also plenty of fast-food restaurants near-by and a Walmart not far if you need to eat something or do some last minute shopping.

I’ve stayed at Fairfield Inns several times in Canada, but this was my first time in the US. When I first walked into the room, there was a very strong chemical smell that I found totally unpleasant and overwhelming. It only dissipated by keeping the window open almost all of the time during my 4-day stay. The other major issue is that there weren’t enough light sources. The room was rather dark, especially at night. The only overhead light in the room was the one near the door, and it was on a timer. So, I had to stand up every 15 minutes to switch it back on. There was a reading lamp and a strange object below it that could have been an ottoman since it had no back. I would have loved a reading chair in the room. Instead, there was this weird ottoman-like thing without a back that didn’t function as a chair. Perhaps it was just a spot to place a suitcase. I have no idea. The walls were very thin, as I could hear my neighbor’s TV quite loudly all the time they were in the room. In addition, I really would have liked a safe in the room. On the plus side, the walk-in shower was great and the breakfast was very good. I send a shout-out to Tony, the person who checked me in. He was extremely good-natured and helpful. I wish all employees at hotels were like him. Overall, this hotel was a mixed bag, especially with regard to the room odour. I would probably try another hotel if I were to come back to town.
