Hotels Near Parc Sainte-Thérèse in Gatineau

We just stayed for 1 night, the room was clean and comfortable. 25$ for overnight parking was a bit much I felt. The location is not the best for a Saturday/Sunday since it is an office area and almost everything around in walking distance is closed, just Tim Hortons and Startbucks is open.

So nice to have a hotel conveniently located to nearby points of interest. It's a busy area, though, so be careful when crossing streets! It's evident the hotel is aging but our accommodations were nice & one could see that updates to decor, shower, etc. were somewhat recent. The shower area was huge (perhaps they got rid of the bathtub & just extended the shower area???) Must use room key card to access the elevator to guest room floors. Appreciate the extra security! The staff was responsive when we asked for additional supplies. The breakfast area was very nice, with great views. But the buffet is quite pricey as are individual menu selections. Better to grab breakfast in one of the many options in the neighborhood. There is also a restaurant on-site, again, very pricey. With so many options nearby, why not experience the city? We found the area to be quite walkable & were able to take in quite a few sites in our brief visit. Our experience at the Westin was positive; we understand the minor inconveniences of escalator repairs, etc. are part of general maintenance and didn't let that influence this review.

Stayed at the Novotel for a week in early Feb 2023 while attending a conference at the nearby Westin. I booked for a really low rate through hotwire. After a pleasant check in I was excited to come into a very large on the 8th floor with a separate seating area and a very large TV. Room was pretty clean although when packing up before check-in I found some items under the bed that did not belong to me. Location was perfect, right across from the Rideau Centre and the Westin/Conference Centre and within a short walk to the Parliament Buildings, Sparks Street and Byward Market. My only compliant is the walls must be paper thin as I could hear the ding of the elevator and conversations in the hall from my room. I was also there a four hour during a power outage in the evening. I assume the outage was unscheduled but there was a lot of confusion and no one at the front desk when it occurred. The hotel shares a building with a DND office which made it confusing leaving the building by the stairs as the stairway lead to a entrance that read ”DND property alarm will sound”, it took awhile to figure out how to exit by the stairs.

Overall this hotel is of good value with the cleanliness and proximity to downtown Ottawa. The hotel was opened to business in 2019. I redeemed from my Aeroplan for the 2 nights stay, and I paid $25/night for parking. Room - The room itself is clean with quite spacious bathroom. It is equipped with small fridge and there’s a microwave over the counter which is good. Amenities - it has a swimming pool and it’s clean with the adjacent patio and you can go outside which is good. It served complimentary breakfast with good selection of food. Plenty of seatings within the dinning area. Parking - OK but a bit tight in the parking stall however even it’s quite fully booked we are able to find parking. While we stayed I’ve found it interesting cleaning wasn’t done during the first night. The attendant made a mistake to our room and we ended up knocking the wrong room but it was an honest mistake I believed. What I’ve found it interesting though is right across diagonally across is a homeless shelter so just be prepared across the corner of the stress diagonally there’s a homeless shelter and be prepared for that. It didn’t bother me but you may end up having the room view of that depending on where your room is located. I’m sad to see so many of them and especially during the pandemic still seeing them on the street is a hit heartbreaking for me. This is a relatively new hotel and suitable for family and I’d recommend.

This review is a far too late, but I did promise to wite one so here goes. We stayed as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, and during the COVID19 summer of August 2020. Sometime Quality Inn hotels can be shady, but this one was TERRIFIC. I am being very honest, we have stayed at MANY Quality Inn hotels across the U.S and have had to turn away, but this one in Gatineau was: Very clean, absolutely friendy check in staff (Daniel Sarazin), outdoor poolfacility that was well kept and large, and amazing location (close to Costco and Ottawa). Now for the reason I am taking the time to write a review: the genuine great customer service from staff member Daniel Sarazin. He worked the front desk when we check in, and was friendly and efficient. He also proved to be tremendously helpful through our stay with answers to questions and special requests. I hope he is still there for your stay! People like this need to be highly valued to the Hotel owners, as exactly how they treat customers will prompt us to write positive reviews, and become return guests.

The room was fine. Clean, bed was comfortable. Interesting décor lighting. When we checked in there was a boys hockey team checking in so I worried about our plan for a relaxing spa before dinner. I was right to worry. It was overrun by young teen boys with almost no supervision. We decided to try again after dinner. Our reservation was for 6:30 and we were finally served after 8:30. We saw couples who had arrived close to us get served, pay and leave before we had our main course. When I got our server's attention I asked her if there was a problem with our order and she said Oh no its just very busy, although by this time it was thinning out. Suddenly our order was there, with much apologies about the wait and how busy it was, but the meal was clearly forgotten. I ordered the ribs and fries and it was cold. My wife's seafood pasta had obviously been sitting under a warming light as the mussels on top where dried out. Just not what $28 each should get us. Anyway, it was out anniversary so I didn't cause a fuss, and was hoping for the nice spa later, but we arrived late because of the meal, it closes at 10pm, and there were empty cans and bottles about and while we did enjoy the dip, it was still a little crowded for our liking. The sauna at least was our last experience and it was good. As mentioned, the bed was fine, but then some yahoo with a huge sound system blared it in the parking lot, or adjoining property and woke both of us for a good 5 minutes. Overall, I would say, not too happy with the visit. Sorry, got to call it as I see it.

The booked king suit suite, the room size is large, suitable for family travel. Canada does not provide disposable items by default. It is best to bring your own toiletries, especially slippers. There are no disposable slippers here. If you go to the front desk to ask for it, provide recycled foot cover (avoid the floor cold in winter) This is generally only available at 3 pm. It is best to have an ihg member. Otherwise, you can't check in before 3 o'clock and you need to pay 25 CAD separately. When the hotel is busy, the member's late check-out cannot be used. This should be noted. It is recommended to book a room facing the west side, and the sunset is very beautiful in the evening. If you are traveling by car, it is recommended to go to the park by the river, 5 minutes drive, there is a large green area, you can see swarms of wild Canadian geese.

Our family of 4 needed a hotel near the airport between connecting flights so our expectation was not high. We always had good experience with other Hampton Inns so this was just an easy choice, assuming a known quality hotel and also close to the airport. The Good about this hotel - 1. close to airport 2. free shuttle (details to follow) 3. has a couple restaurants just across from the parking lot if you don't want to venture out too far 4. check-in was quick The Bad - 1. Free shuttle only starts at 6am so if you need to catch an early flight you'll need to find a taxi. In our case, we had to pre-book a taxi the night before because we needed to get to the airport at 4:30am. 2. The hotel shuttle was just a plain white van with no signs indicating it's for Hampton Inn. Driver was not in any kind of uniform and when I knocked on his window trying to inquire, he came out and yelled 'What's going on'. Well not exactly what I expect a hotel shuttle driver to identify himself that way. When I asked if he's from Hampton Inn the answer was yes. But in retrospect any random guy can give me the same answer and we just kinda need to trust that driver that he's a legitimate Hampton Inn shuttle driver. The whole short trip to the hotel we were wondering if we would end up getting mugged. Just not a good feeling and I think the hotel can handle this a lot better, how hard is it to give this driver an uniform with a hampton inn logo, or print a hampton inn logo on a piece of paper and put it on the dashboard. At least something to make your shuttle and driver look a little bit more legitimate and make your guests feel a little bit safer. 3. As mentioned earlier we pre-booked a taxi to pick us up at 4:15am, turns out the front desk forgot to book it for us. When we got down to the lobby and looked for the taxi, that's when the front desk guy realized he forgot about it. So we waited for another 10-12 mins for the taxi to come. (taxi fare from hotel to airport was less than $20) 4. Not all electric outlets are working, in our room the one attached to the side table lamp didn't seem to work. Had to search high and low to have enough outlets to charge 4 phones and 4 apple watches. The Very Bad - The mattress was the absolute worse, I have never stayed at a Hampton Inn that have mattresses that dip down about 2 inches and with no support whatsoever. I'm not a big person, but my husband is so the whole night I was sinking and rolling to my husband's side. All I needed was a few hours of sleep between flights and I could not get that because of the mattress. Tossing and turning the whole night and could not find a good position. My back was hurting the next day like I was sleeping on an absolute garbage mattress the night before. We did not use the free breakfast, coffee wasn't ready during our stay, no other amenities were used. Just Perfect!! Would visit again if i go back at same place. Nice location near Airport and EY Centre.
