Naja, Firmenphilosophie keine Minute eher in die Zimmer, obwohl das Hotel nicht ausgebucht war. Durch Baumaßnahmen gab es kein Frühstücksangebot, Toiletten in EG nur teilweise nutzbar. Empfangspersonal machte keinen qualifizierten Eindruck, weder optisch noch beim einchecken. Zimmer waren neu renoviert, die waren in Ordnung und dem Preis angemessen. Allerdings hätten wir wegen der Baumaßnahmen gern eine Information vorab gehabt, bzw. ein Entgegenkommen beim Einchecken vor Ort.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind sauber. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist ausreichend und abwechslungsreich. Leider ist in der 3. Etage kein WLAN. Hier wäre ein Repeater empfehlenswert. Das parken mit dem Auto ist auf dem Hof möglich, pro Tag 6,00 €.

Geplant war der Besuch im Royal Inn Regent Gera, um einen ausgiebigen Tag im Wellnessbereich zu genießen. Dafür sind wir extra 100 km weiter gefahren, als eigentlch nötig. An der Rezeption dann kam der Tiefschlag: Spa wegen Corona geschlossen! Wir waren sauer, denn niemand hatte uns dies vor der Anreise mitgeteilt. Aber: Frau Höllerich von der Geschäftsleitung hat kompetent die Lage geklärt, und daher kommen wir später wieder, wenn uns die Pandemie dies ermöglicht. Das Hotel hat uns wegen starker Auslastung ein kostenloses Upgrade auf eine Junior-Suite gegönnt, in der wir hervorragend schliefen. Es herrschte eine Ruhe, wie man sie in anderen Hotels meistens dramatisch vermissen muss. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist hervorragend, Vielfalt und Qualität sind lobenswert, und Frau Hahn ist immer auf der Stelle, sobald etwas im Angebot auszugehen droht. Toll ! Vor dem Hotel beginnt eine andere Welt, eine Mischung aus zerfallener DDR und "südländischer Einkaufskultur" in Gera. Aber die Gera-Arcaden sind 10 Minuten auf DDR-Gehwegen entfernt, dort lässt es sich nicht schlecht stoppen! Sobald es die Pandemie zulässt, werden wir das Hotel wieder besuchen, weil es uns bis auf den geschlossenen Spa-Bereich gefallen hat.
