Acacia Villas Guest House

Don’t be deceived by the advert. This place was filthy. Dust and cobwebs everywhere, dirty bathroom and to cap it all blood stained duvet and hairs in the bed! The room was shabby. We weren’t expecting the Hilton at this budget but really this was beyond budget. Bed linen and pillows cheap, nasty and dirty. Do yourself a favour- book somewhere else. We couldn’t leave soon enough in the morning!

Booked and paid for one night including the dogs - when I contacted then the day before they suddenly said that there would now be a charge of £10 per dog in cash when we arrive. this is a breach of Consumer Legislation. When we arrived found it was in the middle of town not what the name suggested. When she asked for the money and I advised her of the breach she said that everyone tries to get out of paying - this was not a one off. The room was so hot that we had to put our own air con on. The bin had mouldy bread in and when you looked under the liner it was disgusting. there was milk pods in the fridge but no Tea, Coffee or Sugar in the room. We were just glad to leave.

The owner of the guest house was friendly & helpful. As for the room it was very tired looking & rather grimy. The room didn't look like it had been hoovered in a while, you could write your name in the dust on the bedside lamp shade & the dressing table. The toilet roll holder almost came off in my hand & the bathroom glass tumbler was still covered in toothpaste from the previous occupant. Plus side the bedding & towels seemed clean & smelt nice. If you wanted to plug in the kettle, hairdryer or your phone charger you had to pull out the furniture to be able to do this. Probably wouldn't stay here again.
