The staff was kind and responsible. I had a reservation problem due to wrong room information on the booking site, but the staff was kindly replaced my room with better grade.
The food was great. Japanese food option provides Sashimi.
Tonosawa station is nearby, so you could arrive the hotel by foot, but there was a lot of steps so it is not suitable for baby strollers.

The hotel is in a great location. You can take the free shuttle bus to the Hakone Yuryo next door. The front desk manager is Chinese.
Both dinner and breakfast are very rich, 🉑so it is worth the money~

Mountain hot spring hotel
If you arrive at dusk/night, it will be difficult to determine where to park because there are a large number of Hakone Yuryo parking spaces next to the hotel.
It’s definitely a long walk to Hakone-Yumoto Station, but the shops are concentrated on that street.
One bed, two meals is good, don’t make the mistake of booking a room without a private bath like I did
There is no elevator in the hotel, please bring your own
In addition, the sound insulation of the room is very poor, and the sound of the engine in the driveway is very obvious.

I don’t recommend this store very much
1. The location is extremely poor. You need to walk up the stairs for 10 minutes to get to the station, or take a ramp with at least a 45-degree slope to get to Hakomoto Station. It’s easy to get up, but you can’t even get a taxi when you get down.
2. The service attitude of the store staff is poor. One of the female front desk staff in the new hotel feels like a slut with bad intentions. I have mentioned this in other reviews. When I left, I asked her to help me call a taxi. She said if the rental was full. It was inconvenient for us to walk down the mountain with our luggage. My husband walked to the main hotel at the foot of the mountain. The front desk called us a car. It came within minutes. It was because she refused to call that it was because she couldn't call us.
3. The standard of food is far different from before. I stayed for two days in a row. On the first day, the sukiyaki pot was ridiculous. On the second day, it was all fish. After eating the raw fish, I had boiled fish, then pan-fried fish, deep-fried fish, everything was fish. , nothing else, so disgusting, so different from when I stayed in this hotel a few years ago

The traditional Riokan Onsen experience was awesome in this place. The rooms are newly renovated, we had a private onsen with mountain view., the food was amazing and the service was great. It’s was a bit pricey but was worth the experience.

Since it gets dark in Japan as early as 5.30 pm we were in for an adventure trip to find this destination. Although this place is close to the railway station it was so dark that we struggled finding this location. Our disappointment baesd on the spooky trip to this place was soon replaced with joy once we entered this place. Its a beautiful onsen resort with a wonderful staff. The hospitality and facilities were both top notch. The rooms were cosy and the onsen bath amazing. Please make sure that you reserve a room with private onsen since public onsen might get a little crowded and uncomfortable . We were served a lavish spread of kaiseki dinner which was mostly non veg. When I said that I was a pure vegetarian the chef was kind enough to immediately cook-up some fine veg options which were very tasty. Please make sure that you inform the hotel staff well in advance about your food preferences so that they can prepare accordingly. We missed doing that however we were lucky that the chef had some veg stuff handy. The place is definitely worth a visit

Delightful ryokan in a peaceful wooded area with private open-air hot-spring baths and an indoor mineral hot spring (onsen). Tonosawa is a beautiful little village close to the Yamuto station and the ryokan a short taxi drive uphill. Dinner and breakfast is typical Japanese style and there are also Kimonos one can wear for a traditonal experience. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

Delightful ryokan with friendly, helpful staff especially explaining how the traditional dinner was supposed to be prepared and eaten . The private' onsen' hot bath en suite was fabulous as well as the larger one available. Rooms are spacious and futons very comfortable. I stayed here Oct 22 and was delighted to be back.

This ryokan in Tonosawa Hakone is fantastic! Tonosawa is a beautiful little village, 5 minutes by taxi from the Yamuto station, and on the switchback train line to sights in Hakone, bus lines etc. The village itself is really nice to walk around, with a stream going through it. The Japanese room we had was very nice and comfortable, the onsen was fantastic (not private but I never met anyone there), and we had two dinners that were amazing!!! The breakfast buffet is also very nice. But the dinners were really the highlight, with a traditional many-course meal, everything was excellent and really good value. The staff were also very nice and helpful.

Our stay at Tonosawa Ichinoyu Shinkan was perfect and the highlight of our trip to Japan. Everyone we encountered was so polite and helpful. We arrived in the pouring rain and had some difficulty finding the actual building, but all of the workers in the surrounding building helpful us locate the building. We were early and left to go sightsee, and when we arrived back to check in, our luggage had already been brought to our room. The dinner provided was HUGE and very delicious. Our room was large, clean, comfortable and the mineral bath in our room was the perfect temperature and so soothing after a long day in the rain. My one "negative" comment (which didn't detract from the overall experience at all but might be good for some to know) was that there was no shower in the room. The hotel was conveniently located by a train station, and despite what other reviews have mentioned, we didn't struggle getting our luggage up and down the hill (but we're both about 30 and in decently good shape. If you have any mobility concerns or a large amount of luggage, this may not be the case for you.) The morning of our departure, we left early and the staff were kind enough to let us in to breakfast about 15 minutes early so that we could eat before catching our train. Staying here was the highlight of our trip to Japan. If you're on the fence about booking, just do it!

This is quite a traditional ryokan. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and included typical rice, soup, pickles, salad, and protein (egg, fish, beef) miso and vegetable dishes. Also, traditional kimonos to wear, futons in rooms plus open air onsen. Most rooms had a private hot both as well whereas mine didn't. I had stayed here in 2018 so was delighted to be back however it is somewhat remote.

The open-air bath in the room is comfortable and has a strong alkaline content, which makes your skin smooth. It's great that you can use the bath at any time, even when the large public bath is closed. Dinner and breakfast are also delicious. The all-you-can-drink craft beer had a slight citrus scent and was delicious.

First of all, the staff are extremely considerate towards their guests. This is a place where all your "I wish they would do this" wishes come true. The place is well-cleaned and clean, and the food is delicious! I really enjoyed my stay, with free ice cream during my stay and unlimited alcohol and soft drinks. The good thing about this inn is that the service is attentive to your needs, but they also keep a good distance and leave you alone. They don't treat you like an annoying person, so you can spend your time freely without having to worry about anything. Overall, this inn was full of the efforts of the company and the hard work of the staff. I'll definitely go again!

I love the hot spring here. I take a bath 5 to 6 times each time. It's a room bath, so I use it every year even during the COVID-19 pandemic. In my personal opinion, I think the food meets the standards in both quality and quantity. For those who drink alcohol, the all-you-can-drink plan is reasonably priced and good. If you take the train, get off at Tonosawa Station on the mountain railway from Hakone-Yumoto Station, wash your money and pray, then climb the stone stairs. After a short mountain path, you will arrive at Ichinoyu Shinkan. There are no convenience stores nearby, so it's better to get what you need around Yumoto Station.

There is stained glass above the room. When it gets light in the morning, the light comes in and you wake up naturally. You can enter the rooms with open-air baths 24 hours a day without bringing a change of clothes. That means you can go back to your room naked! The food is original Japanese cuisine. There are many types of appetizers, which is fun. Beef and pork shabu-shabu, and the specialty boiled golden-eyed snapper. Really delicious. A piece of tuna nigiri is served as a service, and I'm already full by this point. The butter-grilled seafood is served on a shellfish plate, a solid fuel that is common at inns. It was all-you-can-drink, so I added a glass of wine and was surprised at how much there was. I can't eat any more, I can't drink. But the jelly for dessert is delicious, so I'll eat it. Best value for money. I ate too much at dinner, so I couldn't eat much, but the breakfast buffet had all the basics, and the negitoro, yakisoba, and spring water were menu items that made me think "huh?". I'll train my stomach and get revenge!
