Traditional Japanese style, very close to the station, but it is a bit difficult to wear an authentic, big suitcase. The private soup is good. We made a reservation when checking in for 45 minutes for a room. The three of us gave it 1 hour👍 We didn’t have any hope of including dinner, but it turned out to be unexpectedly rich and delicious! Overall good!

A very quiet Japanese-style hotel, with one room and two meals. The set meal is okay and the private bath is comfortable. It is right next to Gora Station, but you have to carry your own luggage and there is no elevator. Those who live on tatami are used to it.

When traveling to Hakone, you must experience an authentic Japanese hot spring hotel, and Gorakan Hot Spring Hotel is one of such hotels. The strongest experience after checking in was the food, which was excellent. Picture 1 is all about breakfast, with a large table full of food. Picture 2 to Picture 12 are all about dinner, which is exquisite and delicious, plus the handwritten menu, full of ritual sense. Especially the authentic Japanese service of the store, which gives people a very comfortable experience. I am not used to living in Japanese tatami, but I sleep very comfortably. The hotel also has hot springs. Each guest must make a reservation in advance and the merchant will arrange for each guest to soak for 45 minutes.

I booked this hotel for a stay and two meals after reading the recommendation from Lonely Planet. Unexpectedly, the service exceeded expectations, even breaking Japan's 15 o'clock check-in. The hotel is okay. It's very close to Gora Station. It's just a little uphill through the tunnel when you exit the station. Breakfast and dinner are both sumptuous, and the waiters are very enthusiastic and help with luggage. The bed will be made in the evening, and the private hot spring is more comfortable ~

The hotel is not far from the station, just a 5-minute walk. However, after walking out of the station, you have to walk up the stairs and it is a bit difficult to pick up your suitcase. Other than that, the hotel is very good. When you check in, they are very helpful with your luggage and instruct you to take off your sneakers and put on slippers. Personally, it is recommended not to bring a bag when going to the suburbs of Tokyo. It is more convenient to bring a backpack or handbag, because traveling between regions will affect the locals and is inconvenient. You can stay in the city. There will be Kaiseki cuisine at 6pm, which is quite large but very delicious. The kimono women are also very service-oriented. Before six o'clock, you can soak in the real hot springs for private reservations if no one is using them. However, the last bus around there is at 5pm, so it is recommended to soak in the hot springs at the hotel. Dinner will last until about 7:30, and the kimono-clad woman will prepare the quilt in the room on the way, which is very comforting. The tea and ice water in the room are delicious, and the tea sets are very traditional. There's not much to see outside the room, but it's good to get some early rest.

When you go to Hakone, you should always experience a traditional hot spring hotel. This hotel in Gora is a two- to three-minute walk from the station. It provides one hotel, two meals and a private hot spring. There are eight rooms in total. The one we stayed in was called "Dawen". There was no elevator, so the wife had to work hard to carry her suitcases up to the third floor. It was my first time to stay in a Japanese-style tatami room, and it was a full experience. The food for breakfast and dinner was beautifully presented, rich in content, and the service was attentive. While dining, the waiters will help spread quilts, tidy up the room, and bring hot water and teapots. Luggage can be stored for free.

Arrived at the hotel in the morning, the boss is an old grandfather, who did not expect to speak good English, checked in very smoothly and made an appointment for dinner and private soup. The temperature of the private soup is a bit high, maybe it will be better to soak in winter. Dinner is arranged to be enjoyed in a separate room, and the dishes are very rich. The location is very good, the underground passage on the other side of Gora Station is directly accessible, and it takes only 5 minutes to arrive. In the peak season, Hakone is really a very cost-effective hotel.
