It was in no way a conventional 5* hotel, it's a "tunisian 5* hotel", the stuff are 50/50, communicating with you only if you're either tunisian or giving them money, the room is big and empty, usually badly maintained, beds are very rigid and only single without even the possibility of transforming into a twin bed, the food is very basic with a minimal choice and slow serving creating lines of waiting people, outside the dining hours there is basically nothing to eat, the pools're not heated, with sand (bad cleaning), working from 10 to 18 "officially", unsupervised children everywhere, the booz is either too diluted or too concentrated, depend on your luck with the bar, there is no fresh juices or a variety of non alcoholic drinks, tea and coffee are undrinkable. The is no medical help, and they dont even help you with organising it (thank god we had a good insurance). The hotel imposes on you a ton of rules upon arrival, but none of theme are respected later on buy anyone. If you have to travel to Tunisia and want to fell kinda 5*, then maybe it's your choice, otherwise i dont recommend neither the country nor this hotel.

Returned from the resort about three weeks ago and have to say, the resort did not disappoint! We had a huge room on the third floor, on the extreme end, with gorgeous panoramic views of the sea on both sides. And it was much bigger than the other room allocated to the remainder of the family next door. The staff and service was absolutely great and always helpful and accommodating. There is no expectation to tip but it definitely changes the service level when you do! From the waiters in the main restaurant who pour your drinks and bring the little extras to the housekeeper who put in cute towel shapes with flowers daily. We celebrated my mum’s and son’s birthday whilst at the resort. The restaurant staff in particular Jasser and Jamila went out of their way to make the occasion special dinner time with decor, cake and singing. The fabulous points: The great service from the waiters and reception staff (shout outs to Jasser, Islam and Zouehair). The animation team, in particular Lala, were fantastic! Entertainment in the evening was good as well, more aimed at children though. Cleanliness, bar service and food at the main and BBQ restaurants were all great, although food repetitive at times. WiFi great throughout. The not so fabulous parts: The spa treatment in particular the hammam package was a massive let down for the price paid. Was very disorganised and the massage was a torture session, despite my numerous requests to go much lighter on the pressure. Not worth it. Main pool is sea water and a bit stingy on the eyes. We stuck to the smaller pool. Aircon does not work well in the lobby and rooms. The hotel in general is in need of refurbishment. Did a tour to Tunis, Sidi Bou Said and Carthage, arranged with the reception staff. Carthage closes at 3pm which the ‘guide’ did not tell us about so we missed it altogether. Very disappointing. English speakers may find it difficult at times with the language barrier. Cannot change money back at the hotel, FYI. Tips: Get an orange sim at the airport. Handy when the WiFi is sporadic at times and when venturing out of the hotel. If you are looking for a great souk, Nabeul market is about 30 mins away by taxi. Costs about 30 Dinars. All in all, a fabulous trip and would not mind returning again especially for that panoramic sea views and gorgeous room ☺️.
