Cold in the room because the heater is not enough!!!

I was traveling in June 2023 alone with three kids under 7 and stayed at this location. I was so happy to find something close to the thruway. This was a quick overnight stop during a 12 hour trip. Everything was great from check in to check out. The front desk clerk was quick and efficient checking me in and had me in a room that was easy to get to with the kids. As soon as I checked into my room she made sure I had everything I needed which was really helpful as it was late and I was alone. The next morning the breakfast spread was fantastic. There was something for everyone and the set up was clean and refreshed quickly. I noticed that there were a lot of senior citizen tours staying overnight as well and I was glad to be in their company. Check out was quick and easy. I will plan to stay here again as we usually stay in this area every summer on our trip. Highly recommend.

Convenient location, easy to find, fast check-in, nice-sized room, and very clean. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows, and the room was up-to-date and well-maintained. We also appreciated the not-so-dark-as-other-hotels carpeting and furniture. It was nice not to have to really search dark carpeting, dark furniture surfaces, and dark bottoms of wardrobes to make sure nothing was in danger of being left behind. There were plenty of outlets for various devices, and the hooks on the wall made storing things nice and easy. We always look for hotels that are both pet- and smoke-free, and include a breakfast with a fair number of selections, and this one was perfect. Overall, a wonderful stop on our journey.

After being unhappy at another chain location, I switched from my usual brand and joined Radisson Rewards for this booking, with a great rate. Arrived here from ROCHESTER International Airport by LYFT ride, not knowing how long I would be staying, or what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised. Located in a nice area, on busy Route 31, Monroe Ave , East of the city, but still close to all major attractions, like GeorgeEastman House, Memorial Art Gallery, Highland Park, Rochester Museum and Science Center, by car, also on city bus routes. My comfy accessible room is roomy and restful, with a King bed and roll-in shower, many safety bars in bathroom. There is a window unit for climate control , Microwave and fridge in my room, and a 40 inch flat screen TV that has a sharp picture with premium channels. Room and lobby WIFI works well., except with my Apple phone. Cozy family reading area with adult and children's books and a single computer/printer business center in lobby. I was happy to find a small coin operated laundromat and a tiny gym, with two machines. Amenities include a very good hot and cold breakfast served in lobby, with 24/7 refreshment and coffee/tea bar. Spunkmeyer cookies at desk, a small convenience store for essentials, including frozen entrees. Smoke free premises, however there is an outside seating area, with wooden Adirondack chairs and a fire pit for smokers. Four Electric car charging stations make this a great location for modern savvy travelers who care about the environment. Coffee-Tea stations in room and lobby were well stocked. The diverse cheerful and helpful staff keep all common areas very clean; all of them are very helpful and accommodating . I enjoyed conversing with International guest clientele in several languages, including Japanese tourists. With rewards member rates, its a great deal and price point. Ethnic restaurants and shopping nearby, including Pittsford Plaza and Eastview Mall . I recommend this hotel to all traveler friends in this area, and beyond, including my 50,000. travel chat buddies on Facebook, Yelp, and TripAdvisor, without hesitation. Nice looking hotel. Easy check in. Nice size rooms. Comfortable bed. Quiet, I slept well. Our room had king size bed, sofa/sleeper, small refrigerator, microwave, small TV, 2 drawers in dresser, desk, and table with 2 chairs. One of two bedside wall lamps was missing. There were sufficient electrical outlets and USB ports. The room was very clean. The notebook about the hotel was missing all of its pages. There is only one ice machine in the hotel and it was out of service during our stay, note on it indicated it was awaiting service. The bathroom was adequate size. Nicely arranged, with large counter space. Hair dryer on the wall. Shower/ bathtub combo. Plenty of hot water. The shower head had more than one spray setting. Typical cheap hotel quality toilet paper. No exhaust fan. Morning breakfast was sp****. Scrambled eggs and what I think was soggy french toast sticks, white bread & 2 types of bagels, 1 apple, 6 types of Kellogg cereals, boiled eggs, 3 types of juice (they were out of orange juice), coffee, and milk (they ran out of milk while I was there, both 1% & 2%). I went to breakfast at about 7:45 a.m., with breakfast being served 6:00 - 9:00 on the day I was there. Weekends have a later serving time. Room capacity was more than adequate, wasn't busy, but could hold a good number of people. Located next to the hotel is a Cracker Barrel restaurant. There is also a gas station right across the road. I tried hard to give a 4 star review, knowing their staff level is likely inadequate. It was between a 3 and 4, until I went to breakfast and the sp**** offerings and missing items and insufficient supplies tipped it to the 3 star. But, overall, I would stay here again.

The Hilton Garden Inn is located within the Rochester University campus and only 5 minutes away from the wonderful and historic Mount Hope Cemetery. The hotel has a nicely decorated and welcoming lobby, with a restaurant on site that serves breakfast in the morning (my visit included the breakfast plan since I do not like going to look for breakfast in the morning). There were two comfortable double beds and a nice large bathroom in the room. Bed Linen and towels were clean and fluffy. The breakfast off the menu was good. I did not use the buffet but it did not appear to have a large variety. The hotel is a good jump off point to explore the Erie Canal, the fall colours of the Finger Lake District or just to walk along the Genesee River waterfront trail (which is lovely for walking and riding). So now for my issue with the housekeeping policy (not the housekeepers I would like to add). And yes, I am going to get political here! We were told upon arrival that because of Covid the rooms would be cleaned on the fifth day of stay or if we request it by calling before 8am the day we wanted to have the room cleaned. OK, policy understood! Some people can go for days without needing the room cleaned, I am not one of those people. One of the things I like most about staying in hotels is having daily housekeeping and arriving back in the room with the bed made and fresh towels if I leave them in the bath tub (which I do not do everyday). So twice we called, before 8 am to make the appointment. The phone rang for a long time, eventually we spoke to the front desk and the person took the room number and confirmed the request. Twice the room housekeepers never came and the room was never cleaned. What the hotel and the Hilton chain, as a whole, will not freely admit is that they have turned housekeeping into a ”gig” economy. The housekeepers are suppose to wait each day for a call. If they get a call, they work, if they not, no work. No work, no pay. So, to the surprise of no one, those mostly women of color were smart enough to get a regular and better paying job else, with guaranteed hours. That has left a smaller pool of available housekeepers. The hotel chain is making excessive profits on the backs of the lowest paying people in the hotel business. In addition, they do not tell you when you book that the room rate does not include housekeeping (so ask before booking), they do not amend the rates because they no longer clean the rooms. Same rates less service! There is simply something wrong with that business model that I cannot move on from as a traveler. In the future, I will be vetting the house keeping policy for all hotels before book.

Everything was great. Check in smooth as was check out. Bar service is always excellent.

I love this hotel. Our room was super clean and spacious, there is a great swimming pool and fire pit, the free breakfast includes sausage, bacon, waffles, cheddar biscuits, eggs, hot oatmeal, etc. But the icing on the cake is the amazing team led by Matthew. Jonathan, Marsha, Stephanie, Geovanni, Lisa, and Jordan treated us like royalty - totally pampering our new puppy and his older (but still puppy) brother. They took the greatest care of us and I feel like they are family after our wonderful stay. Their hospitality, warmth, compassion, and professionalism really makes a huge difference. I would never stay anywhere else when traveling in the Rochester area - a tribute to their excellence and Matthew’s leadership. :)

On Friday night around 10:30, a worker entered my room without knocking and told me he needed to fix the light in my bathroom. He was in there for over an hour. We had to be up at 6 am the next morning. Very scary to think he could have walked in unannounced with my daughter there alone, or when we were sleeping, etc. The lobby is ridiculously cold. Our room was 85° and we could only get it to go down to 76 over the course of two days. We will not return and will be filing a complaint about the worker entering our room. In all of my years, nothing like this has ever happened. At least I won the weekend with the most bizarre event...there were many complaints from friends staying there as well. But please watch yourself and use the extra locks when in your rooms.
