Stunning property in beautiful area and excellent location next to Kielder. Perfect kitchen area, but difficult to seat people round fire comfortably if 4 people or 2 couples. One gorgeous sofa and one 'grandad' style armchair. You couldn't watch a film all together for example as TV small and in alcove, but fine if your main aim is walking and outdoors stuff. (I was holed up as bad weather and Christmas period) Bathrooms immaculate but I couldn't get a hot shower for long as it turned luke warm. Still a lovely shower, very powerful. Decor real attention to detail and aesthetically pleasing. Compact wardrobes fantastic! Mattresses are very personal but it wasn't comfortable enough for me, think these could be better quality for 'luxury' price I paid. Very picturesque courtyard area and gorgeous arched barn windows and one of best features. Really beautiful. I had Xmas decs so a very kind touch. I honestly believe it should reduce slightly in price after a 3 night stay as there's no housekeeping etc and a small bottle of milk on arrival would have been appreciated for tea/coffee as such a late check in at 4pm. No phone reception here at all be warned (personally fine with this) so could use WiFi for communication but effected Netflix for a while obviously but not for too long. Overall, a much needed relaxed experience and very appreciated. Host manual spot on, and met Dave the proprietor briefly and he's an extremely genuine caring gentleman and very approachable. Considering all pros and cons would still recommend! Location is heaven! 😊

A beautifully presented and well equipped apartment. We were visiting Kielder for the weekend with the accommodation ideally placed just down the road, close to a lovely village pub and a 15 minute walk to another. The information on local attractions and facilities was helpful and sent us in the direction of a lovely Sunday lunch.

We visited with our 2 young boys, in The Classic. Our first impressions were of amazement. We were so impressed with the room, bathrooms, kitchenette, living area. The 2nd room was made up with single beds, (this was asked of us prior to arrival). The main en-suite had a beautiful sunken bath (&seperate shower but didn’t use it), as we used the walk in power shower in the 2nd room. The grounds were kept clean and tidy. Recycling on site. The plush seating in the living area made games nights more relaxed. We didn’t watch any TV. WiFi was great. Kitchen items were plenty, didn’t need to go without for anything. The location is very peaceful, and in the village there is a good playground behind the post office. Be aware the local pub, Blackcock inn, isn’t open Mon & Tue, we did visit Wednesday (do recommend booking though) and had some good food and a local ale. If you visit Keilder castle, the Anglers arms do good food and is open each day. Don’t forget to pay for your parking online for Kielder car parks, the ticket are for all major car parks in the area. Do this before you go so you can print it off. Otherwise a lot of the car parks only take coins, £5 per day or £2 per hour We visited when the rain was at its worst, every day it rained heavily. However, a good walk with a good coat in the forest always makes us feel better. Would love to return in the winter and hope to capture some of the dark skies for a bit of star gazing.

Quality accommodation in a bucolic setting of the small village of Falstone close to Kielder national park. Wonderful relaxing stay. A couple of pubs and a cafe in the village. Nice river walk within touching distance of the property

An amazing place to stay. Beautifully adapted barn, with high end amenities. We loved the quiet location and stunning views. The barn was warm and cosy, logs were available for the log burner but were not needed. Kitchen was well equipped and all worked well. Only issue is the low ceiling in the bedroom, which could be problematic to any one above Average height!

Well equipped and located to explore Kielder and the surrounding area. The grounds were safe for the children to play and there is a lovely walk along the river you can get to easily from the apartments. We will stay again!

Having spent a very hectic family Christmas my wife and I decided we needed a more peaceful New Year, ideally including some gentle walks to work off the Christmas excesses. The Falstone Barns looked ideal, with the added bonus of dark skies and a visit to the Kielder observatory. The property exceeded all our expectations. The incredible welcome on opening the front door including the tree, with its own lighting system, in the middle of the living room / kitchen was just the start. The house was already very warm, spotlessly clean and decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The bedroom and bathroom were equally exotic, and while built in the eaves of the conversion I only bumped my head a couple of times before learning where to duck. Overall the property was faultless, and we had a very enjoyable stay. In addition to the property itself, the village pub would feature on my “top ten” list, and the walk recommended by Dave - about 5 miles round the village and into the Kielder Forest, was outstanding. I’d have no reservations about recommending any of the properties in the Falstone Barns, and hope to return in the summer.

Paula and Dave have created a truly beautiful location in this stunning part of the countryside. The French lives up to the photos and description on the website and was immaculately clean. Despite the sub zero temperatures the apartment was warm and cosy. We ordered logs for the wood burning stove which added to lovely evenings. The apartment is well kitted out with adequate crockery and cutlery and a very impressive number of champagne flutes. The wardrobes in the bedroom are very slim and wouldn't take an extensive wardrobe of clothes. Paula and Dave provided really helpful info re finding them and responded very quickly to our pre arrival queries. The Barns are well placed to explore Kielder NP and Hadrian's Wall. One of the local sculptures from the Kielder NP is 5 mins away in Falstone.

We stayed in The Romantic Suite the week before Xmas. It was very cosy and beautifully decorated. The tree looked quite magical when lit up. My husband loves astronomy and he saw stars that he'd never seen before, so be sure to bring binoculars for clear nights. It might be worth bringing food supplies if visiting out of season as local restaurants have (understandably) restricted opening times. The food at The Pheasant Inn at Stannersburn was lovely.
