Pros: 1. This resort is inside Periyar Tiger Reserve. 2. Having a booked room gives you an advantage of having a booked ticket of Periyar lake safari boat. 3. Rooms are too large, facilities are in good condition. 4. Location. 5. Periyar boat rides starts from a walking distance from the resort. Cons: 1. Entry inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve is prohibited after 5-5.30pm. So whatever plan, you have to touch there before they close the doors. 2. Because this resort is inside the Tiger Reserve, no party, no loud music. Even if we were there on 24th December, it was a normal day for us.

The rooms were most comfortable the toilets clean, the staff were courteous and friendly and the weather was great. But the buck stopped here. The food was AWFUL and tasted indifferent - The sambar was hot water with veggies floating on top, the chutney was diluted 1:100, the fried rice was more than fired - it was BURNT. The chicken dishes were insipid, and I could go on forever. In contrast, wayside restaurants at Vazhavara and Chelimada served very tasty food, and that's a prerequisite for hungry travellers. Ananya Nivas - it has taken you years to build up a reputation - get yourself professional cook who can do justice to the kind of food you are serving

6 of us on holiday, took 3 rooms here for 3 nights, mid January 2025. The rooms are large and comfortable. The staff civil, courteous, and very helpful. Location is terrific. The Restaurant is atrocious; a joke really. Prices are sky high, but quality/taste of food, was pits. The free breakfast is nothing to talk about. They don’t have ONE good cook/chef in this established institution!!!! And you are forced to eat here, especially dinner, as you cannot go out after 5.30pm. KTDC doesn’t seem to care.

Nice place inside the forest with good dining options. The bathrooms and rooms overall were very clean. Since it's locked down by 5:30 pm, there's plenty of things to do inside the compound like pool, table tennis, cards, a library as well as a TV lounge with newspapers and books.

Never book this place. Food is highly over charged. Too expensive.After 530 pm you are trapped, as the gate closed because of security issue. We are the senior citizen couple, while check out no one had the courtesy to help us for the luggage, inspite of giving them sufficient tips while check in. So disappointed!!!

Our group stayed here as part of a Mercury tour, the rooms were comfortable although basic with air conditioning, kettle facilities & bottled water provided. Breakfast, lunch & dinner were buffet style, plenty of options available & staff were helpful. Lovely venue situated within the reserve, only stipulation is no wandering alone through the reserve after a curfew time.

Stayed with family for a day. Pros: Right on the bank of Periyar and walkable to boat boarding point and ticket counter. Also I heard after reaching there that they provide boat tickets on discounted rates for inmates (250’per head or so) . Reception staff were very courteous. Small garden right outside was good and good for pics. Cons: Rooms are small and no meaningful views, lunch was horrible and food costly in general. Swimming pool is outdoor, so cold and not that clean. Can’t open doors and monkeys all around. The TT table/badminton court etc. all outdated or non usable. Few cycles available. The Periyar house nearby would have been a better economically with better front view and kids play area etc. Tips: call them for booking and info than doing it online.

This hotel is in a perfect location. I had a wonderful room on the ground floor, which was absolutely massive. The food was OK but limited choice for a vegetarian westerner who is not used to spicy food. We saw a sign about a film show of the wildlife, which just two of use went to watch. It stopped several times. I asked if they sold it in the shop, where DVDs and swimming costumes were on sale, and was told it was very old. This was disappointing. Unfortunately we did not have much time to stroll around, as we had limited time on our tour. Not many places where you can watch the monkeys while you eat your meal !
