Asian Side
It was a very clean hotel. Due to coronavirus restrictions, the variety of the breakfast was not a lot but it was acceptable. The staff were very friendly and kind and the room was really clean and cosy. The location of the hotel is also very good.
Ibis Styles Istanbul Bomonti

Since I came to Europe, I wanted to stay at an authentic Ibis hotel, so I booked this hotel. The room was very spacious and we were able to relax and relieve the fatigue of our trip. I think it's probably a queen room, but the bed is quite spacious, so I think it's comfortable enough even if you're not traveling alone. What is noteworthy is that there is a wide variety of breakfast options. There were also many Turkish cheeses, which were delicious when eaten with bread. Both the room and breakfast were very good, but the location was quite difficult. There are many world chain hotels in Bomonti, but they are all far from stations and buses, and there are many hills, making them a bit inconvenient. However, you can get to the bus or metro bus that goes directly to Emignor in about 10 minutes, so if you can clear the slope, I think this is a recommended hotel. The surrounding area is quiet, so you can spend your time relaxing. The staff were also very nice. I would like to visit again.
Ibis Styles Istanbul Merter

We have just spent 2 nights at this hotel. We are on an organized tour of Turkïye and did not chose the hotels. When I read the reviews on this website prior to our trip, I was worried. However, having just left the Ibis Styles Istanbul Merter this morning, I can say that the negative reviews do not reflect our experience at this hotel. Furthermore, we did not hear any negative comments from anyone in our large group. The hotel is modern and very clean. Our room was attractive, with a large window, spotless washroom with shower, and a comfortable bed. We had a kettle with tea and coffee and mugs, and 2 free bottles of water on both days. We were too tired to watch TV, but there were some international channels available I believe, for sure BBC World. There are plenty of electrical sockets, including over each night table. The WiFi was free and fast. There was a desk and a chair, as well as an armchair in the room. The breakfast was great and begins before 7 am. The only negative about this hotel is the distance from the city center. However, there is a tram stop for the T1 tram line within a few minutes walk from the hotel that takes you directly to the historic center without having to change trains. I have to mention the helpfulness of all the staff we encountered, and in particular of Can at the front desk, and the bellman on duty on the day of our arrival, who were very generous of their time in explaining to us how to get to the tram and how to get tickets.
