I like Shaxi so much! The hotel service is good. When we arrived at the ancient city, they helped us carry our luggage 🧳. We also upgraded to a king-size bed room. The weather was cold, but the electric heating baseboards were turned on and the whole room was still very warm! The welcome fruit was apples, which were very sweet. I recommend everyone to come on Fridays. The market is fun and the things are super cheap! The mango is super big and costs 10 yuan for 3 pounds! The beef is also delicious! The persimmon cake is also delicious. If you are not used to the smell of milk, don't buy milk buns and milk tofu, it is very fishy...

Stayed here for 2 nights. It is well-located on the side of the ancient town, allowing us to reach the main sights of Shaxi within 5-10mins walk. Easy with the luggages too if you are arriving in a car which can stop right at the main door. The suite was huge with separate living area, bathroom and had a nice wooden decor. Although it’s already been operating for many years, it felt brand new! Hotel compound itself was beautiful with an airy garden setting. We enjoyed taking breakfasts & afternoon tea at the outdoor benches by the dining hall. Even though it was fully-booked on one of the days, it never felt crowded at all. Staff were courteous, always smiling and happy to offer their services or advice. This is a property one should definitely consider if intending to spend more days in Shaxi & the neighbouring area, so that you could enjoy the hotel itself.

The most worthwhile B&B in Shaxi Ancient Town | Waking up to the first ray of sunshine in the morning I have always wanted to come to Shaxi Ancient Town after seeing the windy places. I finally came here on this vacation. I chose a B&B by blind chance. The service is so good that I can't say anything. The aunt in the store is very enthusiastic. After chatting with the aunt, I learned that she came from the next village to work. We like to eat the rice noodles made by the aunt. Before leaving, she bought some for us to take away and gave us the traditional method of making brown sugar specialty. The whole B&B is in the style of a new Chinese courtyard. There are only nine rooms in such a large courtyard! The furniture is textured and aesthetically pleasing. From the design to the bedding and daily necessities, they are all extreme. The room is very well lit, and I woke up to the first ray of sunshine in the morning. In the afternoon, I drank tea and chatted in the teahouse on the second floor. I felt that the warm sun in Shaxi was really comfortable. It is worthy of being called ”Yunnan Five-Star B&B” and ”the most beautiful B&B” in Shaxi Town👍 After staying in the fast-paced city for a long time, this is a paradise to escape from the high-pressure environment. Shaxi old town itself is a true gem on its own, and this place is a gem in a gem. Hidden just outside of the Shaxi old town, it's proximity to the town square （寺登街）is a big plus. The landscape is super cozy, highly suitable for those who want to really have a good break from the hustle and bustle of city life, resting ones mind in an uninterrupted environment. Let's not forget the lady owner taking care of the place, who is so accommodating and helpful. And let's not forget the hot fresh milk provided every evening, which gives another level of warmness to the stay. Notes: if you are here on a Friday, you are of luck. The farmers market held weekly on Friday is just a few minutes walk away from this guesthouse too!

This is a wonderful place. Joyce and Eric are the perfect hosts, and speak good English. The house is a traditional home, with very clean and lovely decorated rooms set around a central garden. It's on the edge of old Shaxi, so the centre is only a few minute's walk. They walked with us to show us where to pick up local transport for the Shiebao National Park, the spectacular temple of Baoxing, and the Shizen Lanxi mountain shrines. Whether you want to stay for a couple of days, or to use it as a base for exploring the area, it would be hard to find a more welcoming and helpful homestay.

Well-appointed and comfortable inn. Excellent location with easy access to attractions (some within less than 5 mins walk), yet is tucked in a quiet corner. Delicious and nutritious breakfast. Most commendable is the warm hospitality. I feel so well-taken care by everyone here. If I were to visit Shaxi again, I will definitely stay here. And do Shaxi justice by staying for at least a couple of days, and explore the vicinity.

Shiran is beautiful with sunshine, and I had a very pleasant holiday here. Thanks to the housekeeper for helping me upgrade to the room where the fairy sister lives. The service is very considerate, and the housekeeper can respond promptly when I ask for help with some problems. There are two choices of Chinese and Western breakfast. After staying for a long time, the housekeeper will take the initiative to ask if you want to adjust other styles. The fruit tea is also very delicious. On the coldest day, the housekeeper also put charcoal fire in the hall, and it was very warm when I pushed the door in. If I come to Shaxi next time, I will come to Shiran again.

👉This is an ancient house of the Bach ethnic group, about 200 years old, renovated and put into business. The house is located in the heart of Sa Khe ancient town, less than 100 meters from the ancient stage and the Yujin stone bridge, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, handicraft shops... The front of the hotel is for renting and selling costumes, inside is a quiet yard and covered with stone lotus flowers, the space is very airy and quiet. I booked a room on the 2nd floor, the room is small, pretty and clean, fully equipped, with a small yard in front of the door, in the morning you can sip a cup of tea to welcome the early morning sun, at night you can sit and eat fried mushrooms and sip a cup of local plum wine, a true feeling of rest. The hotel has a separate kitchen and laundry room for guests, if you want you can cook and do laundry here. 👉The hotel owner is an elderly and extremely funny person. I went for many days so I brought quite a lot of luggage. However, the owner was very happy to help me carry my luggage from the town gate to my room. (Vehicles are not allowed in the old town, so the owner helped me push my luggage from the gate. All the roads in the town are paved with stone, so you can't pull your luggage and need a special cart. So if you book a room here, contact the owner before coming for help). 👉The price of the room I booked on the 2nd floor was about 1 million VND/night, and I was completely satisfied with this price with all the emotions it brought. I only stayed for 2 nights, but the owner was extremely enthusiastic from the first day to the last day, helping me book a car back to Lijiang, and even giving me a souvenir with the promise that even if I brought more luggage next time, he would still happily welcome me. 🤣🤣 👉Sa Khe ancient town is one of the extremely well-preserved ancient sites in Yunnan province. If Lijiang is likened to a fairy with a splendid and proud beauty, then Sa Khe is a quiet and fragile beauty in the wind. Coming here, you will naturally feel life slow down, allowing yourself to be a little lazy, a little gentle with yourself. If I have the chance, I will definitely stay in Sa Khe longer!

This is my first time traveling to Shaxi Ancient Town! I'm really happy to have the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful little B&B here. Although the room is not big, it is just right for me. Everything I need is in it. The address of Mingsu is also very convenient, not far from the city center. My favorite part is probably the grounds here because they are so beautiful. It's perfect for enjoying the sun and drinking tea during the day. The landlord was very chatty and considerate and helped me call a ride to take me to the next city. Next time I come back, I will definitely stay here again!

There are few star-rated hotels in the small county. The main building is still quite stylish, but there are deluxe rooms in the main building, and ordinary rooms in the back annex building. The conditions are relatively general. The room decoration is old, the facilities are simple, there is no central air conditioning, and the bathroom is surprisingly large. There are half of the room. The advantage is that there is a yard and parking is convenient. Not far from the hotel is a food street, which is convenient for eating.
