Atour Hotels in Jining

The main reason for our stay in Qufu was, of course, Confucius, and this hotel has a good location: we could easily walk to the Temple, envy as in with the mansion, then ride a horse pulled cart to the cemetery. Contract fulfilled. The sport place, across the street had fun night activities, and there were a lot of eateries, cheap and delicious, on the block The hotel itself shows its age with some deferred maintenance, such as a rusted parts in the bathroom, a sub-optimal laundry room, and some lacking service: for example, the tea and coffee bags in the room, an Atour highlight, were not replenished, and we were not offered water upon departure. Great breakfast, as always.

The stay was excellent. Having stayed at so many hotels, Atour is always a safe bet. The subtle aroma of tea that greeted me upon entering was a familiar scent from my memories. I especially loved the ”Bamboo Cottage” in the lobby, where I could always find a quiet place to read. The details in the rooms were truly touching—the bedding was always fluffy and soft, the minibar was complimentary, and there was even a warm bowl of ”late-night porridge” waiting for me when I returned late. Even more remarkable was the warmth of the service. The staff remembered guests' surnames, and their smiles were genuine and unforced. Every stay felt like a brief return to a meticulously maintained ”third place.” If I need a safe haven during my travels, Atour will always be on my list of recommendations.
