The Sherton Hotel in Kagoshima was an absolute gem of a hotel! This is our first visit to Japan, and we are admittedly nervous about the language barrier and cultural change from the US. From the moment we checked in, the staff has bent over backwards to make sure we are comfortable and have done a fantastic job to make this stay completely comfortable and enjoyable. The location is perfect right at the center of downtown Kagoshima, and the rooms, restaurants, and common spaces have more in common with a Four Seasons than with what is standard Sheraton in the US. We were not able to take advantage of the spa, but the Onsen (Hot Springs Sauna) was so relaxing and rejuvenating — especially after 26 hours of flights to get here! HIGHLY recommended. Thank you to the staff that has helped make our 4 days in Kagoshima a memorable experience! Now off to Hiroshima!

Stayed on a business trip. The first thing that was impressive when I arrived at the hotel was the wide and splendid lobby. There are large Christmas trees and many decorations in this period. In addition, there is an automatic performance piano, and it is blown out to the top floor, and there is a restaurant (ryotei?) which seems to be high-class, and the structure is City Hotel. The room was an ordinary business hotel (especially a comfortable room without any problems). The special point was that breakfast was very substantial. I was thinking of eating lightly, such as having a local menu. The location was also convenient in the center of the city and just off the Astronomical Museum.

Wi-Fi was also easily connected and was available without problems. There is also a personal computer loan and is perfect for business trips. There is also a hot spring, Kagoshima Chuo Station and Astronomical Museum were close, and the location was good. More than that, the staff 々 was kind and polite. When I told my destination, I checked the bus and the city trams and guided me with color 々. It's a great help. I was sorry that it was not in the room where I could see Sakurajima😅

There has air conditioner which was cool enough , good! only the drawback is some far away to take 20 minutes to JR station but very near the walking street. Bath room a bit of narrow. This is a new hotel with bunk beds which can accommodate 4 to 6 persons. The beds were spacious and a good size. We stayed in the executive bunk family room which can accommodate 6 persons. It may be a bit tight for 6 persons but just right for our family of 4. There is full size washing machine cum dryer in the room which is very useful for washing our clothes. The hotel serves a buffet breakfast with a good spread but as there is no dining area, you need to pack your breakfast into bento boxes and eat them in your room. But we saw a sign which says breakfast will be separately charged from Jan 2024 onwards. Now, breakfast is complimentary and included in the room rate. The hotel also does not have car park but there is more then sufficient coin parking right next door which cost 600 yen from 2000 to 800. The location is quite central and a short 5-10 min drive to Tenmonkan. There is also a good ramen restaurant across the road from the hotel, Rai Rai Tei which is worth trying. Just a tip, we got a much better room rate on Rakuten than the usual Agoda, *********** sites.

When you enter the lobby of wide 々, welcome back and the bright greeting from the employee was impressive, and the free breakfast was good. Because there was only a staircase, is the heavy luggage person a little hard? The room was clean and I was able to spend it slowly. The hotel staff was very kind. Because Wi-Fi was hard to connect, I was able to go to the front desk and borrow another Wi-Fi. It was comfortable. It was close to the ion so I was saved to buy souvenirs.

From the Astronomical Museum Airport Bus Stop, walk about 5 ､ 6 minutes, and the tram ”Takami Baba tram stop” in front of the hotel. There are many hotels around, this is a new and nice hotel to look at. All the front staff were kind, color 々 guided me, and when I heard it in the afternoon, I gave me a discount ticket. The single room is a little larger than a normal business hotel, the bed is double size, the interior is clean and modern. I love artificial carbonated baths and my skin is smooth. The restaurant on the 13th floor seems to be a lot of locals, I used 3 meals, it was delicious. The only thing I want to improve is that there is no ballpoint pen in the room, and I want to take a note 々, but maybe everyone has a my pen in this era.

The public bath uses Fine Ten Water, and those with sensitive skin will feel the effects immediately. I also found Refa's shower head to be very comfortable to use, probably because the water pressure was higher than what I use at home. Use the hair dryer and your styling will look better than usual. Also, the room was equipped with a clothes deodorizer, and I was curious about this home appliance, so I was glad I was able to try it out. People who go to yakiniku etc. for dinner will probably find it very popular. The rooms are comfortable, but the public bath is recommended.

Maybe I checked in late. It was after 7pm and the room was full, so the room I was assigned was not very good. There was a musty smell in the first room I entered. After I told the front desk, I changed to a second room with a bigger musty smell. But my friend is very nice. He changed with me 😂 But his room was not very clean and there were girls' hair on the wash basin and shower head. . . . But the hot spring is good, the internal environment is ok, and there are ice cream snacks
