I was given a great room with a nice balcony view of the swimming pool and palm trees. It is a safe and calm place to step away from the chaos of Kampala and have your own space to think. I liked the convenient on-site gym as it was my only exercise outlet while in Kampala. Housekeeping, especially Agnes were great. However, the restaurant closed around 1am, so if your room is in the same building, you are likely to be awakened by the dining furniture being put away and the enormous doors being shut. The restaurant opens around 6am and without fail plays loud upbeat music, something definitely not for before 11am. It woke me up almost every morning and I had to call reception almost daily to request for it to be turned down. This is something the hotel needs to be sensitive to as its guests need a good night's sleep and to wake up at a quieter pace and gather their thoughts for most of the morning. Some people are even struggling to adjust to time difference in sleep schedule and that loud music wake up is a rude awakening. There were also building works on the premises so it could be noisy in the day. A mosquito net or netting around the patio and bedroom doors would help keep mosquitoes out as I got bitten quite a few times. It was hot and difficult to leave the duvet off at night with mosquitoes biting me. If they had more local favourites in the restaurant instead of mainly Indian cuisine, that would also help. Also if they could sort out their restaurant's noise and put a physical mosquito deterrent in the apartments, it would be an incredible place to stay.
