Karuizawa Marriott Hotel Reviews

Pros: 1. The room is very spacious, with a tatami bed for the third person. It was clean and well-equipped. 2. Convenient and free parking right outside the hotel entrance, although spaces are first-come, first-served. 3. Complimentary rental of umbrellas. 4. The private onsen was enjoyable, especially considering the public onsen at the adjacent building is unsheltered (hence the need for umbrellas). 5. Excellent location near Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza and Kyu-Karuizawa Main Street, providing easy access to numerous local shops and eateries. Cons: 1. The breakfast was quite disappointing considering that this is a 4-star hotel and the other aspects are good. The bread was extremely hard and difficult to tear, and did not seem fresh. The overall variety of food was limited and not particularly appealing.

A little bit off, if without a car. Rooms are spacious but a little aged. Food is acceptable, staff is very friendly and helpful. A small gym and a really nice public bath for hotel guests.

Very easy access from Route 18. Private bath in the room was so nice and enjoyed a lot, even though, big Onsen facility at the main building can be used. Foods and buffet were also so great. It was really good opportunity for my personal Memorial Day.

We had a wonderful stay in Karuizawa, with Marriot providing a good environment for our rest overnight. The hotel room is quite spacious though a bit old style. Short driving distance to all tourist spots nearby! The car park is good and was free! Will definitely come back again!

The hotel is surprisingly spacious. The facilities and environment are excellent. I am most impressed by their staff - good hospitality and friendly to introduce sightseeing spots to us. Food for dinner and breakfast are delicious. I am very impressed and will come again next time.

Despite it is really far from the town and Taxi/ shuttle bus is the only transportation available at night. The room and the service are perfect. Remember to look at the schedule for shuttle bus on their website.

The service from the staff, the greetings, and the cleanliness of the room were all excellent. Thank you very much. The breakfast buffet was also very delicious. The local ochazuke was very tasty, and the cheese was also delicious.

The hotel facilities and environment are good, breakfast and dinner are unique, and there are Chinese-speaking service staff. There is a very local park within a 20-minute walk, and the child also made a Japanese friend. The downside is that the shuttle bus is too infrequent, and there is only one bus every two hours during the prime time in the afternoon, which is basically equivalent to no bus. This is especially inconvenient in Karuizawa, which lacks public transportation. I hope it can be improved.
