Coorg Wilderness Resort & Spa

THE GOOD - Property is expansive, lush green and beautiful - Room service is quick and diligent - Spa is quite good - Accessing the resort is convenient THE BAD - Noisy rooms (101 &201). In such a tranquil environment its a shame that the music plays on loudspeaker or PA for the restaurant (till 10:30pm), gym (starts at 6AM) and other guest (at least around us) are loud. Staff tried to solve the noise issue but failed (writing this review at 10PM, it's still the same). Manager, although super nice gave his word to solve the problem (also offered room change and upgrade but we didn't take) but failed! Actually during the day they have quad bikes going up and down so even the far flung cottages/rooms are also not removed from this issue I'd imagine. - Staff are truly doing their best, they're even trained well but they lack the polish that a hotel demanding this price and exuding the 5-star-ness has. It's a mile away from Taj, priced in similar zone. - Buffet dining seems ordinary and food mediocre (even though they had a lot of options). It was relatively better when the propert was full and very bad when the property has low traffic. We witnessed this over our 2 night stay here, was interesting to notice! - It's not a brand I can (or anyone should IMO) give another shot, it's a hit or miss, for us it's a miss. We wont be coming here again. A Marriott, Hyatt or Taj one can expect to uphold and meet the set expectation. Here our expectations were very high as advertised (and charged) but what we witnessed was subpar.

We had an amazing time at Club Mahindra Madikeri, and the Food & Beverage team truly made our stay special! A big shoutout to Mr. Sushoban, whose warm and thoughtful service stood out throughout our visit. He was super attentive, always on top of things, and went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. Whether it was a small request or just a friendly chat, he handled everything with a smile and genuine care. It’s not every day you come across someone this dedicated. . His thoughtful gesture of surprising my son, Siddharth, with a cake added a personal touch to our experience. Thanks to him and the whole F&B team, we had a wonderful experience, and we can’t wait to come back soon!
Purple Palms Resort & Spa

I stayed there for 2 nights with my wife and daughter. One of the best Hotel/Resort I have stayed with. Room Service and House keeping was excellent. It was the fastest room service and house keeping we have ever experienced. The staff is so helpful, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very good and food was very very good and reasonably priced. The property is well maintained and though they say it's 4 Star it's not too far from 5 Star standard. Special Thanks to Front office Staff Mr. Suhail and F & B ***ager Mr. Shekar for taking care of us very well. Will definitely visit again.

Coorg Coffee Bean Resort

I had booked an A/C cottage at Lazo Coffee Bean Resort for 3 nights. I wanted to share my experience. The resort is located 8 kms from Madikeri town, the roads are good, but it’s not lit during the night, so it is advisable not to travel after 10 PM. The resort entrance is right on a curve, you need to be cautious while entering the resort especially when coming from the Madikeri side. The check-in process was easy and didn’t take much time, there was parking space available. The cottage was big, well-lit with warm lights, its completely wooden. The flooring therefore was too squeaky and a bit slippery. There was a decent balcony that was supposed to be ”forest facing”, half of it was covered by the adjacent restaurant building, which was still under construction (raw materials and clothes drying on a rope) and people working hence constant loud chattering, while the other half was facing a garbage dump. This made the balcony useless with zero privacy. The washroom was decent in size but clean irrespective of demanding a room cleaning. Wires were hanging from many sides of the roof. There was running hot water 24/7 which is appreciated. The towels and bedsheets had stains. The complementary breakfast was below average especially South Indian options. Try having it as early as possible as its not kept warm and there is not enough seating. The utensils are not clean, some are even rusted. We had lunch and dinner once, the food was decent. If you are ordering extra bottles of water its charged 2x. All staff were helpful and well behaved. There was good internet connectivity. Payments are accepted by UPI or cash only.

My wife and i stayed in one of their ”teak” rooms (720 sq feet. It had a nice layout with a balcony facing the ”forest. Personnel such as sadana, chaitra and bind u were nice and courteous. But their ”wifi” was choppy and had to (re)connect multiple times. The room had a tv but only wifi you can connect with and one must use their private netflix/amazon accounts. The food menu was decent but some dishes were mediocre. We would recommend this place if you would like to ”hide” away from bangalore for a couple days. It is pretty decent value for money.
