Peter Pan Resort @ Koh Kood

Considering this was our most expensive accommodation on a 3 week tour of Thailand (Approx £178 per night for 2 adults and 1 child) this was our most disappointing hotel. We booked the ground floor Sea Horse so we’d have easy access to the beach and pool. First impressions were good, the views were incredible. However on closer inspection the bathroom was awful. It felt dirty, well in need of updating and had a terrible sewer smell, to the point we didn’t want to use it. The towels and sheets were all stained. Although the room was huge there’s no furniture to unpack anything, or surfaces to put anything. The kettle is no where near a plug. And there’s an unnecessary full size fridge freezer, when a wardrobe would be more useful. Although there was a large deck by the pool there was no drying rack and no seating which would have been nice to make the most of the pool which was pretty much just for decoration. The breakfast was terrible with very little choice. The staff were mostly indifferent, never very friendly or smiley. The only redeeming feature was the beach which was absolutely stunning. Though only 12 sun loungers for the whole resort. To warrant the price they’re charging they need to completely renovate the bathrooms, invest in some furniture and towels.

Warm, friendly helpful staff comfortable rooms with all you need. This is not 5 star luxury, but is so much more, people doing their best, going that bit further. Ohhhhh and the beach stunning never saw more than 40 people on it... Comfortable cabins we had 17and 18 which looked bigger. It's not a Hilton or a Marriott or the like but is much more fun. Island life island pace ....

We spent 3 nights in Koh Kood Paradise and it is really a beautiful place! Beautiful garden, clean and comfortable bungalows, very attentive staff and great food for reasonable prices. A small shop is also available and another one in walking distance... Highlight is the pool and the beach! We visit Thailand since 12 years now and it is one of a few pools which is not ice cold, my son loved it! The beach is a paradise, quiet and natural in walking distance. Perfect place on Koh Kood! Thanks to everybody for everything! Take care and stay healthy 😀
Rest Sea Resort Koh Kood

Our family of three lived in this new year for three days, and there was still some reluctance to go. The hotel has a beach, the most beautiful at 7 or 8 in the morning, there are very few people, the sand is not bad, and there are free kayaks for guests to play. The hotel is a small villa, very new and very clean, mini bar snacks can be eaten free of charge, building materials are mostly taken from natural materials, very environmentally friendly. The most praiseworthy is the hotel's restaurant, which is superb. I thought that the materials on the bone island would not be fresh, but in fact, the hotel restaurant can kill a large number of high-end restaurants in Bangkok, regardless of the ingredients or taste, and the price is very good. Kindly, we have spent two or three hundred yuan on a dinner meal with a full range of seafood and meat. There is also a happy hour every afternoon, and the cost is also very good. The fly in the ointment is that the hotel is rather ridiculous, travel can only rent a small motorcycle, the hotel rent a motorcycle to 400 pigs a day, slightly expensive.

Well, after a lot of searching we finally found a place on the beach, away from the bigger resort areas, within our budget, and overall, we weren't disappointed. The good The location is ideal. Right on a stretch of gorgeous sand with a shallow stretch of sea protected by a shelf of rocks a hundred metres offshore. With young kids, nothing could have been better. Crystal clear waters, clean beaches, and just what the doctor ordered. The staff were very welcoming, and the resort provides free masks and snorkels as well as skiffs for up to three people to paddle out over the shallow sea. There are plenty of fish to see so it's definitely worth taking advantage of these. There's a great collection of tables, sun loungers, swings, and hammocks for you to use, and most have umbrellas to protect you from the harsh May sun. It was incredibly hot at this time and I don't think we were quite prepared for that. The staff were very responsive when we asked for some things to be fixed in the room, such as a missing towel rail from the bathroom, an iced-up fridge, a broken remote control. and these are were resolved within a day or two. Perhaps the best thing about the resort is the restaurant and bar. The food was, we thought, exceptional value and of really good quality. My daughter couldn't eat enough of the spaghetti with pork and tomato and the spaghetti with bacon and chilli is excellent. Also good value is the barbecue set which we had for lunch at least twice. There's enough for 3 or 4 people with just one set. The bar is a great place to relax in the evening though I wish they were a bit more imaginative and varied with their happy hour cocktails. The not so good I've mentioned the problems with the fixtures and fittings in the room. What I find annoying is that guests need to tell staff that a towel rail has been removed, and that the fridge is so iced up as to be unusable. For the price, these things should be checked at least between guest bookings. The wooden laminate flooring in the bungalows has been pretty badly warped and there are gaps between the ends of the boards. This doesn't give a good first impression but perhaps the most annoying thing about the room was the design of the bathroom which seems to have been done by someone with no sense of what should go where. When you open the door to the bathroom, it brushes the side of the toilet seat, which inevitably means the toilet seat is constantly loose. Mad idea to put a toilet just inside a door. I don't think I've ever come across a design like that before. The shower location and the way it's attached to the wall means that anything near the sink gets totally soaked unless you want to remove the shower from the fitting and hold it while you shower. I think a bit of care and effort when designing the bathrooms would have paid off. But perhaps the worst thing of all is the breakfast. Considering the main restaurant food is pretty good, you'd expect breakfast to be along similar standa

We visited this beautiful, owner-managed facility again after 10 years and were thrilled again! The entire resort is well maintained, the bungalows are cleaned every other day (more often if requested) and all the employees are super friendly. The location directly on a large bay with a beautiful sandy beach is fantastic - and here too the plastic waste that is now washing up everywhere in Southeast Asia is immediately disposed of. Many of the other resorts in this area of the island don't have their own beach, which is really perfect here. There are swings hanging between the palm trees everywhere, there are free swimming mats for splashing in the water and you can rent kayaks and snorkeling equipment. Snorkeling in the bay is great, there are corals, lots of shells and even parrotfish. We booked a day trip with a boat for snorkeling through the resort and were picked up directly from the jetty. This trip was also very nice. The food in the restaurant is good, the menu is extensive. There is now a French bakery in the immediate vicinity and a nice little restaurant on the street - for anyone who wants to eat something different. Otherwise, on Ko Kood you generally need a scooter to explore the island; these can be ordered at reception for 300 baht / day. Our children really enjoyed their stay and the great service. When you see how carelessly some of the other resorts/facilities on the island are run, you really realize how good Dusita is. The Dusita is also still unbeatable in terms of price - as everywhere in Thailand, it is advisable to inquire about the prices directly by email, so you don't have to pay the commission for the brokerage platforms. We hope that the facility will continue to operate in this style for a long time and that we will get the chance to vacation there again!
