The best buffet breakfast. With a restaurant overlooking the sea. The pool is located in an area with access to the sea, which means that you can choose to sunbathe upstairs by the pool or on the sun loungers on the sand.

I read many reviews about this resort and studied the Mantra Samui website, but never learned until after I booked (4 nights stay) my room that they had cancelled , during Covid, the regular shuttle that took guests down the hill to Fisherman Villa. I learned this because I called the hotel before my trip to ask some questions and also ask how to reserve a place on their shuttle. The resort does have one auto/driver that will drive you down to the bottom of the hill if it is there, and if it is not picking up someone at the airport. The shuttle delivers you directly to the bottom of the hill, is pretty much is just a local road. Then you can wave down a taxi and negotiate the price. Some fun! The Mantra Sumai should update their website to say the regular shuttle has been cancelled, and replaced by their maybe available one car. Continuing my story... We booked a massage at another hotel that is about 20 minutes away, and gave ourselves one hour to get there. So the night before we reserved to get the ride down to the bottom of the hill for the next day afternoon. When we went to reception, we were informed there was an accident, which was a flat tire, and the tire 'might' be fixed in half an hour and then another 20 minutes to get back to the Mantra. They apparently felt no responsibility to contact us. Just wait for the guests to show up and then tell them. They felt no responsibility to call the driver for any update. They then offered to call a taxi, but that would take about 20 minutes to arrive. Also when you call a taxi there is no opportunity for negotiation. My hour was dwindling. Well 20 is better than maybe 30 + 20 minutes. So they called the taxi. Luckily the Mantra driver showed up after 15 minutes, and the taxi was cancelled. My conclusion, after all the interfaces with reception, is they have a poor sense of responsibility and lacking the ability for logical thinking to provide a good guest experience. There are other examples beyond the above. Our suite room was in good condition, and everything functioning. Well, except the phone did not work, but I did not need that. The suite has a king size bed and a separate built in bed in the back of the living room. OK, so 4 people can stay. But the flaw in the suites is there is only a 2 person love seat to sit on. There is no chair, and no desk. It is no fun to use your laptop when the coffee table level is below your knees. A simple 4 leg table for a desk, and a simple chair would be nice, and not cost very much. They do have an on-site co-work room somewhere, but I did not use it. I think it is an extra cost and I did not have that much work to do anyway. The highlight of the Mantra Samui was the included breakfast. There are many cooked to order choices plus a buffet of juices, fruits, cereals, yogurt, pastries, and several breads you can toast yourself. The suites on the first floor around the large pool are not suites as Europeans think of as suites. Here they are large rooms with a divider between the bed area and the seating area. However, the rooms here are large with comfortable beds, good wifi and good aircon. There are not enough power points in the ”suite”. Good size shower room but shower water not hot enough. Seating area is good size but seating not particularly comfortable. Good size balcony and nice to sit outside. The rooms on the ground floor are of a similar layout but smaller. There are steps out side the room entrance in to the good sized swimming pool. These rooms could do with a microwave as at present there is no food outlet at the hotel. There is another block of rooms on one side of another swimming pool which are very nice and only a little bit more cost. One problem with these is that some of them a have connecting doors to the room adjoining. Cannot stop noise transference. There is also another single story block of rooms with there own swimming pool. Again, very nice but, again, some have connecting doors to the next room. There is yet another block of rooms, this time leading to the beach. However, four of these look on to a fence while only one fronts on to the beach. The hotel is on the beach but only in a short width so only one room is on the beach but the other rooms are only a short walk to the beach. Unfortunately there are only a limited number of beach sun loungers and bean bags for the number of guests. Nice long beach for walking and good for swimming. Several beach bars and cafes along the beach. The closest two have loungers with cushions. The hotel is two minutes walk to the town which has mini marts, restaurants, hair dressers, massage, etc. Hotel staff are very nice, which includes the owner and a special mention for Q , cannot spell his full name, very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Hotel about 20 minutes from airport and taxi cost 400baht. March 2023.

This is my favorite hotel ever Holiday Inn Samui. Perfectly Breakfast, Fully furnished room, Big swimming pool, Kids playground, Kids Club and etc.I have to mention this; we met ‘Khun Nim’ at the great breakfast restaurant and she took our family to the Kid club… After 3 days our child almost sleep there. They’ve got 3 or 4 staffs am not sure to take care of your children and also break time to clean the room, toys and etc. For parents are perfect cause you can leave them there, some information paper to sign, just don’t worry they’ve lots of activities for your children; playing, listening, watching, painting, drawing and climbing. We need more time here.

We came for our honeymoon we were amazed with the hotel view the staff also from nancy that she checked us in and explain in details every thing she also came with to the villa to make sure that everything was fine. Breakfast was amazing lucky was very very nice along with nat there service was amazing all the staff were very friendly the chef also are accommodating and smiling I will not forget also WK from sales she made sure that our honeymoon goes prefect Emmy helped us a-lot with all the information around the city she gave us a very good recommendations Iyan made sure to book for us in the jungle village even it was hard to find a place and also a transportation going to the massage in ritz and also to the restaurant The bogy driver nine very smily and accommodating every time taking us to the room or from the room Over all the staff of the hotel made our honeymoon very special thank you so much everyone

This stay was absolutely perfect. The team at Explorar really thinks about all the details, from the moment you walk in all the way until check out. Things I really loved: - the food! breakfast is amazing. - beds are very comfortable. - rooms are beautiful, and intentionally designed. I loved that the rooms were already cool when you first walk in, with your welcome drink in hand, and lightly fragranced with an essential oil blend. - it's quiet, and you have ample privacy. - good mix of workouts every morning, and a beautiful gym. There's a co-working space for anyone who needs to get some work done, great wifi and really good coffee. Will definitely be back. Thank you for an incredible stay!

Had an amazing stay at the Bandara resort. We had room 146 which was great and the gardens were Beautiful!! Special shout out to Kitti , who is a fantastic host and made our stay extra special!! A lovely house keeper for our first week who worked very hard to make our room look amazing and smell Devine when came back after a day out. And Faye/kaye sorry I’m not 100% at breakfast she was lovely too. Special staff deserve a special mention!! We will definitely return! Great location to walk to fisherman’s village for great restaurants x 😀

Away from the hustle of central Chaweng, so is a good spot to be based for quiet times and used as a base to explore the island. Beachfront pool villas are nice, large and great views of the ocean. Private pool is a bonus and well worth the upgrade. Hotel was busy when I stayed and everyone seemed to be happy and enjoying themselves. The pool isn’t the largest but plentiful for the amount of rooms. Don’t forget, there are the villas with private pools, so a fair number of guests will be in their own area. Access to the beach is not directly in front of the hotel, but that’s a good thing otherwise I would be hearing everyone in front of my villa each day. Access is the side of the resort just past the restaurant. Along this stretch of beach has a few other hotel bars and restaurants to eat and drink in and if you head to the furtherest headland point, and head inland, you will come across a handful of bars and restaurants. As many people have said, the hotel is next to a road - but like most hotels in Samui, it’s just the design of the island. You can avoid the main road for your walk to the local area by going along the stretch of beach. And when you are on the island, why wouldn’t you want to walk along the beach?! So don’t listen to those comments about nothing nearby. If you want the hustle of the nightlife, Chaweng central is 15 minutes away. Get on the shuttle or order a taxi for 300thb. It’s a 4 star hotel, trying to get back to some kind of normal after covid and over time, I am sure the owners will reinvest their money to make improvements where some other guests have commented about in other posts but I do think it is dependent on the room type you book and/or are assigned as most of them are fine. Give it a go, it is worth it. I’ve been to many hotels over the years - more than the average Joe - and it’s only recently where I’ve checked in and out of two hotels on the same day in all these years.

The resort has a nice location , so close to the sea and pier. It is very quiet and clean in the resort. The rooms are a bit old and the bedding is not comfortable enough to sleep though. The AC could be better as well. The Staff are nice and friendly. We booked the hotel transfer from the airport which was really good. The breakfast is a bit expensive for a resort, which I would not recommend. Overall it was a nice short stay if you would take ferry the next morning.
