3-Star Hotels in Koh Tao

What a great place to stay on Koh Tao. Our bungalow was perfect for island living. Only complaint was the lack of a chair to sit at the desk with (just used a night stand). Two nice pools built into the natural landscape. “Tom” the concierge was very helpful in all matters. Thanks Tom. Breakfast was mostly western and might I add their bacon was amazing. We extended three days after the first three went too fast.

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to all of the main bars and shops.. Ohoo, behind the desk was so welcoming and helped with any of our problems straight away which contributed to the comfort of our stay. The pool was lovely and clean and overall it’s great value for money! Possibly one of the best hotels we stayed in on our trip

Our room was in the jungle house, which was a little.further than I anticipated when booking, but actually turned out to be amazing. Quiet, beautiful location. Spacious room with a wonderful view. Friendly and helpful staff. Close enough to walk to the action around Sairee Beach. They also.provided a shuttle buggy to/from the beach. Would definitely stay again.

This place looked super cute and authentic at first and I’m sure it was at some point. I wanted to love it but the bungalow I was in was in serious need of repairs. There were holes and weak spots in the floor, mold on the weaved ceiling and many bugs in the room. I’m ok with rustic but when I pulled back the blanket, the sheets weren’t clean. And the pillows smelled moldy. I *****ed the bed and flipped the sheet over and slept with ear plugs in due to music and party a**osphere from the beach bar. I’m not picky and almost never leave bad reviews. I understand the pandemic was hard on the tourist industry but clean sheets post pandemic shouldn’t be too much of an ask, especially at the mid price range. I left immediately the next morning, deciding another part of the island would suit me better. The food at the bar restaurant was decent.

A particularly beautiful island, I ca n’t remember how many times I came to Turtle Island to play. This time because I was with my mother, I specially booked a new hotel by the sea. The facilities are pretty good. The environment is very good, and the luxurious sea view room booked below is the swimming pool and beach. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, and you can also snorkel.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our stay here. The location of the hotel is amazing, on the beach along a very busy ***** of restaurants and beach bars which was great. However, the hotel itself was sadly a let down. The hotel keep whistling birds in cages just outside the hotel rooms so expect to be woken at all hours by birds whistling louder than we could believe. The room we were in was very basic to the point where the only plug socket was by the front door, so to dry my hair I had to stand at the front door with no mirror or chair… The shower was a fixed height (very low) so my partner had to be on his knees to wash his hair and I had to bend significantly despite not being very tall. The room was very dark with basically no natural light at all throughout the day. The bedding was just a thick blanket, that I imagine isn’t washed between guests, in between two loose sheets so the blanket kept coming out of the sheets. The toilet was very temperamental and wouldn’t always flush properly. One positive is that the air con was strong however to circulate the air we also had the fan on and this made an annoying screeching noise when it turned to a certain point, which again, woke us up during the night. We didn’t have breakfast because we had a look at what was on offer and decided to go elsewhere as there are lots of nice local places to eat. The staff also weren’t the most pleasant and even got our dates confused when we checked in. Sadly wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Wir wollten eigentlich 4 Nächte im Blue Tao Beach Hotel bleiben, aus diesen 4 Nächten sind wir aber nur 3 geblieben. Das Hotel bietet wirklich nicht was es verspricht. Sauberkeit: Als wir ankommen hatten wir ein kleines Willkommensgeschenk, also ja, das Geschenk waren verschiedene unidentifizierbare Flecken auf dem Bettlaken. Dazu war es im ganzen Zimmer feucht und die Handtücher haben extrem gestunken. Es wirkte, als das Zimmer nicht wirklich gereinigt wurde bevor wir angekommen sind. Frühstück: Das Frühstück ist im Hoteleigenen Restaurant. Man erhält pro Person und pro Frühstück ein Coupon. Der Coupon berechtigt jedoch nur für eine Speise, einen schwarzen Kaffee oder Tee und einen kleinen Orangensaft. Das Gericht reicht aber eigentlich nicht aus wenn man gestärkt in den Tag starten will. Das Frühstück ist geschmacklich OK aber nicht wahnsinnig vor allem bei diesem Preis vom Hotel ungenügend. Man würde erwarte, dass man verschiedene Speisen bestellen kann aber dies ist nur gegen Aufpreis möglich. Lärm: Das Hotel befindet sich im Zentrum, was völlig klar ist, dass man nicht mit absoluter Ruhe rechnen kann. Jedoch hat das Retsuarnte von 07.30 bis 00.00 sehr laute Musik, was dazu führt das man den Bass im Zimmer hört. Dazu kommt das das ganze Gebäude sehr ringhörig ist und man jeden Gast hört wenn er nach Hause kommt. Auch hört man die Wecker der anderen Zimmer und man hört sie sogar wenn sie im Zimmer miteinander reden. Freundlichkeit: Das Personal ist sehr unmotiviert und unfreundlich. Im Restaurant wirkt alles sehr umkoordiniert und teilweise wartet man sehr lange auf das essen. bei uns war es an einem Abend so, dass meine Partnerin das essen bereits hatte und mein Hauptgericht kam 20 Minuten später, was gar nicht geht... Alles in Allem war unser Aufenthalt im Blue Tao sehr unbefriedigend. Vor allem bei diesem Preis erwartet man definitiv mehr. Eigentlich sehr schade weil die Lage des Hotels sehr gut wäre. Dies führte schlussendlich dazu das wir früher als geplant weitergereist sind, weil wir uns wirklich unwohl gefühlt haben.

On *********** you see this lovely shot of the sea from the infinity pool of the resort described as “ beachfront “ but it isn’t :( they built a dive shop in front and a restaurant so you can’t see that view from the pool. The place is run down and the management have invested close to nothing on revamping after the covid period. Our room was dank , dark and stinking of mould . Walls were dirty , in desperate need of painting. Bathrooms were below standard from an advertised 3 star ranking . TV was so old it didn’t even have a USB port ! Who ever installed the doors to the terrace did so with a nice gap, perfect for mosquitos from the rubbish piles left around the property to enter ! Meanwhile the door screech when you open them . Sorry neighbour . To top it all it’s duff duff from The nearby bars and clubs til the early hours 🤦🏻 If you like a rock hard mattress ave poor sleep here’s your place . We checked out after 1 night and moved to the south side of the island . Much better 👏

The private room was clean, the bed was massive, the shower was hot, aircon worked really well and I appreciated the little balcony! You can borrow a helmet for free and snorkelling masks. They provided a handy link to advice around the island, its not super detailed but a good starting point. Summer Cafe next door is a lovely place to relax. It's a 10 min walk to Sairee Beach, and you go past great food spots, like 995 duck and near to LivingJuices Yoga (best smoothie bowls). The rooftop terrace never had anyone on it, there are some tables and chairs and is a perfect spot to have some quiet time. 4 out of 5 stars because the kitchen area is tiny, not particularly clean, and the shower handle and towel rail were broken in my room. A friend and I both stayed (1 private room, 1 dorm) and neither found Summer super sociable, but it's a good base to explore Sairee and meet people on the Hostelworld app.

Stayed here for two months and it was wonderful. Fantastic location 3 minute walk to Sairee Beach, and multiple delicious restaurants. Multiple bars adjacent and across the street. There is some noise from music and bikes if you're sleeping facing the busier street, but if you're used to sleeping with some noise it's not bad, and the window shades hide any light. The staff were all super friendly, happy to talk, and helpful with suggestions about things to do and general navigation around the island. Also they were very helpful with any problems with the room (which were few, but promptly dealt with). The room was clean (and cleaned daily--which was great for someone who was tracking sand in from the beach!), had AC(which would cool quickly once the keycard was put in place), comfortable bed, and a had a wonderful pressurized hot shower. All and all, great simple accommodation that convinced me to stay there my entire trip to the island.
