Kushiro Century Castle Hotel

We stopped here for one night between Lake Akan and Sapporo - we had a car and wanted to see the red crane sanctuary. The hotel picture is deceiving. It is not, or is no longer, a glamorous hotel. This average hotel is ”on the wrong side” of the river and the town of Kushiro is sad and despairing. Two out of three establishments were closed and/or boarded up and the town was shabby and down at heel. We heard 2 of its 3 big industries (coal and paper) are under pressure with only fishing bringing in the revenue. In short, it is not worth stopping in Kushiro even for one night. In hindsight we would have got up early and driven through to Sapporo (no other town hit us as a stopover as we travelled through the next day) and as it happens the best crane reserve (Tancho), in our view for this time of the year is en route to the expressway anyway. We were in Kushiro on a Sunday and there was almost nowhere to eat for dinner - the hotel restaurant was not open and the recommendations given by the hotel were not open either and were on the other side of the river. We ended up walking to the other side of the river to the ANA Crowne Plaza for a ”coffee shop” dinner = we felt lucky to find anything open - Lawsons was looking like our dinner diner! We could find literally nothing open for lunch other than a Tullys Coffeeshop hidden down a deserted ally. The choices were very limited. I had what turned out to a honey pizza - not what I had in mind ordering a pizza - the photo did not indicate this surprise either.
HOTEL GLOBAL VIEW KUSHIRO

Located in front of the Kushiro River, it was a convenient location with many restaurants around, 5 minutes walk from Kushiro Fisherman's Wharf Moo where the connecting bus to the airport stops. Because it was a business hotel, check-in in the evening was crowded with salaried men, but check-in in the morning was relatively smooth. There were many breakfast buffets and local ingredients, and the view from the window was wonderful. The open-air bath in the large communal bath was the best, coupled with the cold winter. The sauna was large, but I feel a little low temperature. The room was just the size of the room, and the air purifier was always available and comfortable, but I felt that the electric load on the hotel side seemed to be large because the electric control by the card key was not possible. Super Hotel Kushiro Natural Hot Springs

After dinner in Kushiro downtown, I took a taxi to the cold of too much, and when I said, ”super hotel far from the station”, it was returned to ”kurokin Cho”, so when I went to Takashi, I went to ”kurokin Cho” It seems better to say. But there is no distance from the station. It is farther to go to downtown. The room is necessary and sufficient as a business hotel. It is cleaned properly, the atmosphere of the whole hotel is good, and the service like a super hotel such as providing pajamas and pillows separately. Even if it is manual, the unified service in the whole country can be relieved. However, last year, I used a small hotel in the neighborhood that was a little cheaper for Kushiro 2 nights, but I was satisfied with it, so I want to choose breakfast service, the existence of a large bath, and the balance of the whole facilities. Super hotels will be easy to choose in the sense that the price is affordable and available without anxiety. I tried this time and felt like that again. What was happy with the amenities was that shaver had shaving cream. There are many business hotels in the city, but there are still many places in the country. This is happy because it is easy to lose razor. The public bath is divided into men and women in time. Men are from 21 o'clock at night to 6:30 in the early morning. Before and after that is women. Personally, I'm glad to use it in the morning, but it's decided, so this is no choice. I used a large bath before I went to bed and used a shower in the room after I got up. It is not confirmed where it is, but the hot spring is a transportation hot spring. Hot spring with a smeared skin touch. It seems to be a hot spring if it is like a hot spring. The distance between the washroom and the bathtub is close, so I'm worried about how to use it roughly. I want a note. I thought I would have a little breakfast, but when I entered the fourth night, the body was tired and the stomach was tired, and I couldn't confirm it because I gave priority to sleeping rather than eating. I'm sorry.
Dormy Inn Premium Kushiro

The hotel was great! The onsen was really just a public bath, but was still comfy. Free snacks on the top floor like ice cream, yakult at different timings made it even better. There was even free ramen supper on the ground floor at night. Room was comfy. Location is great, with the airport bus stop just around the corner, and other bus stops to bring us around.
Comfort Hotel Kushiro

I stayed to travel to Kushiro for two days and one night from my stay in Sapporo. When I left the station and looked to the left side, there was a large display at the top of the hotel, and I immediately knew the location. The hotel was clean and the room had everything I needed. He lent me a bicycle at the hotel, so I was able to easily go to Starbucks, the easternmost part of Japan, a few kilometers away. In addition, the hotel staff was very friendly and taught me the recommended izakaya in Kushiro. The sun manma I ate at the izakaya was delicious. The free breakfast was delicious and I wanted to use this hotel when I stayed in Kushiro.
Akan Tsuruga Besso Hinanoza
4.8/548 Reviews
We spent two nights at this property earlier this month, as Akanko (i.e. Lake Akan) has a variety of things to do and we wanted to make the most of our time there. The Lake Akan area of Eastern Hokkaido is blessed with some of the country's most incredible natural environments including old-growth forests, a pristine lake, scenic mountains, mud volcanoes and the Marimo, a unique and unusual freshwater green algae that is shaped like a green ball and which can grow to about the size of a volleyball. There is also a cultural element to the area, as Ainu Kotan is one of Hokkaido's largest Ainu (indigenous people) settlements with roughly 130 individuals calling the place home. Aino Kotan has a main ***** that has a variety of stores selling Ainu handicrafts as well as restaurants serving traditional Ainu cuisine. There is also a museum and a performing arts center, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy a variety of Ainu performing arts. You can also reserve a private guided tour with an Ainu descendent who you will follow through a pretty forest while he/she explains how the Ainu used to live. Akan Tsuruga Besso Hinanoza (that's its full name) is a luxury ryokan established in 2004 by the Tsuruga Group, and is just steps away from the lake shore. It's ideally situated - almost everything we wanted to experience (Ainu Village, Lake cruise, hiking, shopping) is within short walking distance from the ryokan. That said, the entire town is clustered in a small area along the South shore of the lake, so wherever you stay, it's going to be convenient. The property is in a nondescript 7-story building, although it's in pretty good shape from the outside (which is not the case with many older ryokans of this type.) Inside, in the common areas there are a variety of wood carvings that are on display; the indigenous Ainu are renowned for their woodworking skills, the displays are a wonderful tribute to the local Ainu artisans. Of the 25 rooms at Hinanoza, 4 of them are Tokubetsu-****su (”Special”) units that are 110m² in size, and are denoted as Ama no Za Suite. Our Tokubetsu-****su was on the 6th floor (the highest floor among guest rooms), and was named the Hina no Za (#601.) As is the case with most suites at top ryokans, it featured a living room, a tatami room and a separate bedroom. The decor and furnishings were Japanese-contemporary and of high quality - the hard product was fantastic overall. The Onsen bath is located on the deck, and is free-flowing and not recirculated... perfect. As was the case with Sanyoan, our Special room had two toilets in different areas of the Suite, although - curiously - featured only one sink. Mrs. KI-NRT would take that trade-off any day of the week. Hinanoza does have the obligatory Daiyokujo (gender-segregated communal Onsen bath), but given that every room here has en-suite Onsen, the vast majority of guests will never leave the comforts of their room. It was empty every time we took a peak in the Daiyokujo. All
