The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto

Kawaramachi/Karasuma/Omiya Kyoto|0.54km from Daienji Temple
This Ritz-Carlton location sitting on Kamogawa and Hagashiyama mountains, is one of the best locations to stay in Kyoto. The architecture is gorgeous on every level as you enter the hotel. You feel transported to a particular place that you will never forget. In addition, the quality of service the Ladies and Gentlemen provides goes above and beyond any other Ritz-Carlton location. Staying at the Kamogawa Executive Suite was an unforgettable experience. Approximately 1350 sq. ft., the suite provides luxury accommodations that exceed the highest expectations of any guest. The bathroom is gorgeous, especially the bathtub, where the wall and bathtub are decorated with sakura flowers. The bed is comfortable, and the living room is quite spacious. One thing I would have loved to see inside this room is a Genkan to place shoes as you enter the suite. Preserving the floor and rug is necessary and educates foreign guests about the importance of doing this. Another aspect that I loved about this place was Mizuki. Every morning I visited it for a Japanese-style breakfast, and it was a fantastic experience. In addition, I went to one of their sushi demonstrations and felt that I had a lifetime supply of sushi. Every bite was delicious, and the chef went above and beyond to make every guest feel special. Please make reservations for kaiseki, tempura, teppanyaki, and of course, sushi during your stay in advance. The spa is also a must if you are staying in this location. It is one of my most relaxing experiences, and the facilities are excellent. As you enter the spa, all the details regarding the walk to the counter or attendant, the changing room, and the pool area are planned quite well, so the guest can feel extra special and disconnected from reality. Finally, I must recognize the Ladies and Gentlemen's hard work and dedication at the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto. Thank Ana and Naoto, for your friendly welcome to the hotel and making things possible during my stay. Chef Tomohiro Goda and his team provided an experience I will never forget at Mizuki. Naoki was friendly and helpful as I researched information. Pablo and Thain were attentive to my needs as I left the hotel and provided a great experience as I checked out. Special thanks to Carlos for leading such a fantastic Ritz-Carlton property in Japan and consideration prior to my stay. This is one of the top Ritz-Carlton properties I have stayed in, out of 25 Ritz-Carlton. I will cherish all the memories that I gained from this place and will make sure to come back in the future.

The size of the bed is much wider than you think, and the sleep is very comfortable. The main room has complete facilities, all kinds of tableware, IKEA, induction cooker, coffee machine, oven, microwave oven, washing machine with drying function, capsule coffee unlimited supply, with the front desk. Washing is also dry and wet separation. There are fresco and family mart supermarkets around, and you can buy them back without any problems, and you are very close to the attractions and business districts. The clerk can communicate in English. In short, we spent a very pleasant three days in Kyoto.

Very satisfied, the room is very large, it is rare in Kyoto, there is a Japanese tatami, it is very comfortable to rest when you are tired; the location is good, you can walk to the Gion, Ping An Shen Palace, Nanchan Temple, etc.; The traffic is very convenient. It is the bus station. It can be reached in all directions by 201,202,203 and 206, not far from the subway. It is very clean and quiet. It is in a residential area and faces a small temple.

It took us a while to find this hotel. It is situated in the side streets of Kyoto. A bit far from everything. Not much cafes and restaurants are found within the vicinity of this hotel. The check in process is a bit frustrating especially if you’ve traveled far and walked a long while prior to check in. There is no personnel to assist you. No complimentary bottled water. No convenience store nearby which is odd if you are in Japan. The nearest Family Mart is probably 300m away. The room is planned well. There is ample space to walk around despite having 3 luggages. There is a little tub in the bathroom and electronic toilet.

To first write the negative. there was no one at the front desk, until 3pm. And the people speak very little english. But the room was absolutely excellent for the price. Quite large and traditional/beautiful.

It was a new hotel, so it was beautiful. Even if it is new, there are many places full of dust, so recently I'm going to clean it myself and bring a bath detergent. I'm glad that's the best! Amenity is substantial. It's an amenity buffet that you can choose near the front desk, so you don't have to choose unnecessary things and don't have to waste. The room has a bath, toilet, and wash basin with 3 independent specifications, so it's easy to use and the breakfast is delicious. I think it's a good hotel to compare the price and service. If this is more expensive, it can't be kind, but ^^

The room was clean and complete with amenities that you need e.g. dishes, kettle, washer, vacuum cleaner and microwave. A balcony where you can hang your washed clothes and can also serve as your smoking Area, as an ash tray is provided. Just like any hotel in Japan, the space can be challenging, but we have positioned our 3 luggages so they won't get in our way. The toilet and bath were separated so it saves us time. Strategically located near Sanjo subway station (4 minute walk) and convenience stores. You can also leave your luggage in their storage area after check-out if you still need to explore or buy some last minute shopping until 8:30 pm. The downside is hotel check-in as we needed to locate the check-in office and drag our luggages, although a 5 minute walk, can be very taxing esp when you have traveled by train for more than an hour standing from Kansai airport and 4 hours plane flight. However, this was compensated by great staff, most esp. Kohei san, who was very helpful and gave us tips how we can avoid standing room in the train to Osaka, as we are transferring to another hotel there in rush hour. Thank you Kohei san. We sat all the way to Osaka. 😁 Salamat po! Oh and by the way, staying at Resi made us feel like a local.
