What a great hotel! We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and took local hikes, shopped and dined. This hotel is a great location and close to Dripping Springs (beautiful hike), White Sands, Las Cruces farmer's market, Mesilla and great restaurants. The hotel was quiet and very clean. The AC in the room worked great and cooled off the room quickly and nicely. The room was also very dark for sleeping. The staff, especially Hector at the front desk, was very friendly and helpful. Hector went above and beyond. If we are ever in the Las Cruces area again we will definitely be staying here again!
Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces

We had another family reunion at Hotel Encanto last week. The rooms were clean and updated, the pool & hot tub were clean and in good working order, the beds were heavenly comfortable, and my dog was accepted and supported in her stay. However, Davion was the one front desk person who was able to clean up the many room billing tangle that we created, and he did so with grace and respect. My mother had double booked and changed around the rooms last minute according to her idea of location and preferences, and the room had been pre-approved at special rates, so the other front desk personnel had them completely mixed up and over charged. We are super grateful to Davion for his superb customer service!

If you like an air conditioned room, avoid this hotel. Our room had not one, but two sensors (one above the door, one on the wall) which shut off the air conditioning when you leave the room. Which means, when you arrive, the room is an oven and you have to sit there if you want to cool it off. If you want to shop or go to dinner, you return to a hot room which will take a long time to cool off. Then comes the worst part. The air conditioner cycling on and off was the loudest I have ever heard in 40 years of travelling. Sounded like a diesel truck starting up outside the window every 10 minutes while it continually cycles on and off. But, you don't discover this until after midnight because you couldn't cool the room off unless you babysit the air conditioner. By the time the room cools off, it's too late to change rooms. All the front desk could say the next morning was, ”we could have gotten you another room.” Sure, if I could have discovered the issue in the normal amount of time. We got virtually no sleep and after a long trip ahead, it was the worst possible situation. And, it's a shame, since the hotel itself presents very nice.

The ENTIRE reason we stayed there was for the slide in the pool. We got there and were told the pool was going to be closed all weekend due some kids making a mess the previous night. I explained to the employee we booked there to use the pool with the slide and she said …sorry it’s closed I took a look in the pool area and everything looked fine and felt it was not quite right to close it off for the entire weekend when that is when you have the most people VERY DISSATISFIED!

We have stayed here a number of times and the hotel is always clean well maintained and staff are courteous and friendly. This was no exception; we were delighted with the stay. However, there have always been two shortcomings in our experience. The TV reception has always been poor and the internet flaky. This time the TV was excellent, but the internet not so good. WiFi did work, but I think it was not compatible with my laptop for some reason, so I thought I would use the Ethernet cable. It was dead. So, I thought I would go to the Business Center; the machines there were dead. I talked to the desk clerk and was told that this was no surprise and calls by hotel personnel to remedy this were usually ineffective. The Ethernet connection and the Business Center were both down for our entire three day stay. Ironically, as we were wheeling our luggage out on check-out day, I noticed that one of the computers in the Business Center was up. I was not a happy camper.
