Despite a nice welcome and the Leeds city centre location of the Discovery Inn this accommodation was disappointing in almost all aspects of my stay. The Inn does not have a bar or restaurant (serves continental breakfast in the lobby only at extra cost). On the way to the room I noticed the old and stained carpets and tired paintwork, the lift had a disgusting smell during the whole stay. The room I was allocated did not have a view of the outside, it had frosted glass on both windows which did not open beyond a letterbox gap, so you had no idea if it was raining or not for example (the hotel should inform guests of this). The room and bathroom had decorative order issues in this case a massive hole in the wall and many places mildew and stains in the bathroom. The television was so small it was hard to watch though the Wi-FI was very good however do not expect air conditioning or a fan. The room benefited from one hard wooden chair in front of small impractical desk space. The compact corridor-like bathroom was very dated in terms of décor, required a good clean and the noise from the extractor fan was annoying.

I love this hotel. Its clean friendly staff very helpful good service. I stayed here with my 3 children and had a family room. Double bed 2 single beds. Really comfy and kids loved it too. It's near the train station and 5 min walk to trinity shopping centre. We will be staying again. 5 star hotel

I booked to stay here last minute rather than getting a late train back home after meeting friends for dinner. It ended up being on the day that the Queen passed away so it's a hotel that I'll remember for a long time! - great value for money - think I paid £83 for the night including breakfast - hotel (including the room I stayed in) was very clean - room had everything I needed for a comfortable stay - amazing location (close to the train station and the city centre) Teeny tiny negative: - breakfast room service option was limited to bacon / sausage sandwiches (however I left a note on the order card cheekily asking for a chocolate croissant - which wasn't an option - and they very kindly sent one up with my veggie sausage sandwich!) As a Mum to a 10 month old, I'm usually up at 6.30am - so a chocolate croissant in bed at 9am was an absolute treat! It's the little things as they say - and definitely warrants a 5/5 review!

Got a Groupon deal at only £79 for a double en-suite with breakfast and a bottle of Prosecco. The reception staff were very helpful and even got a free upgrade with a nicer room including soft drinks and 2 Kit Kats with great views overlooking the canal and late check out too. We parked nearby at Leeds dock about 10 minutes walk away as we have done before at a reduced rate of £8 for 24 hours. Nice modern hotel in a great location with free quick wifi and close to Leeds city centre with a couple of bars on the doorstep.

Warm welcome (and Au revoir) by Daisy. Large hotel foyer with amazing Christmas tree /decorations. Room spacious and nice views of the canal. Ground floor bar good, Sky Bar amazing!! Less than 10 minutes walk to Leeds Trinity Shopping Centre. Leeds Arena 20 minutes, pleasant walk at top end of city. Drinks at this hotel cheaper than at the arena and you don’t get given an half pint plastic glass for your wife’s Prosecco!! Preferred Double Tree to the Hilton hotel positioned on busy main road. Staff all genuinely friendly, credit to the hotel.

5 star experience and very friendly welcome/ service! Upgraded to a lovely big room with super comfortable and firm bed with comfy sofa. Noisy outside but being on 10th floor helped...and v good nights sleep had. Breakfast was excellent..good full English and some gluten free options for bread and cereal was much appreciated. Great coffee too. Thanks so much Hilton...definitely merit the 5 stars!

The booking and check in service was easy to follow which was a relief. I found this hotel to be clean and presentable throughout. The room was clean, relatively spacious and a lovely working shower. My husband and I stayed as part of a conference with over 300 people in attendance. We had a very large room which was obviously set up for 4. Two very large king sized beds pushed together meant that whilst we could have a bed each if we wished to sleep as usual my husband had to climb into bed from the bottom! We stayed Friday through to Sunday afternoon and ate in the restaurant friday night. It was relatively busy but we had a lovely meal, the cocktails were lovely and the staff attentive and we happily paid the service charge and a tip on a bill over £70. As a result of our experience on the Friday night we attended the restaurant again Saturday night. It was awful, we had to find a member of staff to take our order, a member of staff to order our dessert, and we had to find a member of staff to pay the bill - we nearly left without paying the wait was so long! When we did get the bill a service charge had been added - we refused to pay this element as we had been given no service! On Sunday afternoon as the conference ( which was in the hotel ballroom) finished at 2pm and we did not need to be at the airport until after 6pm we thought we would see if we could get something to eat in the restaurant. Disappointingly a vegetarian colleague could not get the simple cheese and tomato sandwich he wanted as the only food the chefs were willing ( or able?) To prepare was what was on the menu ! We left and ate elsewhere so he could be accommodated. The hotel is very disabled friendly with access to all bar one room without the need to use lifts ( although we are now intimately acquainted with the service lift!) The staff in the hotel were all friendly and approachable. ( Even when refusing service!)

Warm, friendly, super-helpful and super, super-professional service round the clock. Spent a week here as a working week from a different base. Ideally located for Leeds' best coffee shops, restaurants, bars and co-working spaces, Lovely large main room with perfect table to work on, comfortable sofas, well-equipped kitchen and pretty much everything you could want - and more. Loads of space and stylish modern bedrooms with excellent bathrooms and showers. Room cleaned every day - flexibly and extremely professionally. Even a good small gym on site with good aerobics equipment and free membership of nearby Nuffield gym too! Hard to beat this for style, location, quality, service and value! Will be back and can't recommend highly enough.

This was our second time staying at the Dakota in Leeds! I have to say that personally, this is my favourite Dakota. Our room was once again perfect (9th floor). Beautiful and clean with a stunning evening view of the city. We had drinks at the bar a couple of times over our stay and each time, the waiting staff were so lovely. Our whole trip was just what we were looking forward to. Can’t wait to stay over again soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Every member of staff couldn’t have been more helpful from the minute I walked in the door and you can tell it wasn’t a script. Gorgeous food at dinner and breaks fast was piping hot. Room had 2 double beds, spotless. I’ll always stay here now when I’m in our Leeds office

The hotel is listed four stars, on the south side of the train station, and the city center is in the opposite direction. The parking lot is unknown. The hotel facilities are old, the room has no air conditioning, the bed has no charging jack, the room is still big, no extra bed. Suitable for taking children! There is an English breakfast, but we didn't eat it! Overall cost performance in general! Not as good as the Hampton Inn in York the day before.
