This time I took my kids on a self-driving tour in Lijiang. The star-rated hotels in Lijiang are relatively old, so the facilities are definitely not advanced, but the hotel has convenient parking and travel. The lobby will deliver ginger tea in time when checking in, and there are people at the door to help with luggage. That was a great experience. It was hard to choose between Intercontinental and Indigo. I personally prefer Indigo because of our experience in Japan and of the attention to detail. The prices were the same at both hotels and you can use the amenities of both, which is great. The breakfast at Intercontinental is better, the bacon in Indigo is Chinese style and it’s not a buffet breakfast. Need to order from the menu. I liked the unique story of Indigo about the Tea horse road. Intercontinental has a larger area, but both hotels are beautiful. The staff at Intercontinental speaks better English. The staff at both hotels were helpful and attentive. We got an upgrade in Indigo to a Mountain View room but only because first we got a wall view and I asked for an upgrade. Indigo is quiet and peaceful, but very close to Intercontinental. The rooms are huge and amazing. In the end, choose the hotel based on the room style you prefer. All the other stuff can be shared. Thank you for a nice stay in Lijiang. The location is convenient and quiet. We went to Hyatt and Pullman for dinner, but they were far from the Lijiang old town and it was difficult to find transportation, it took us 50 minutes to get didi, the hotels are just okay compare to Intercontinental and Indigo. I recommend staying at Intercontinental or Indigo for a satisfying experience. 👍

Super loved our stay at Intercontinental Lijiang. Hotel location is fantastic, the main entrance is along the road hence cars can enter and drop you off directly at the main lobby. The side gate of the hotel leads directly into the ancient town. There is no need to drag your luggage through the rocky roads of the ancient town. Buggy service to and fro the main lobby and rooms are available 24/7. Amenities are good, with an indoor pool and sauna as well as a in-house spa centre. The cafe in the lobby has a very beautiful view of the snow mountain, and is nice to have tea there to enjoy the view. They even have a dyson hair dryer in every room too. Highly recommend 👍🏼

Jinmao was really convenient to walk to the nearby university food street for very good and cheap street food. It was also convenient to get around by taxi. The room was really spacious and well designed, and we also got a view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from our room. Breakfast spread was great too. The only thing we had a problem with was accessing the hotel wifi - as foreigners, we would input our overseas mobile number for an OTP but the system would erroneously convert that into a local Chinese mobile number so we could never get the OTP to access the internet. When we told the front desk, their solution was to send a local staff to the room to use his mobile number to help us log into the wifi. While that solution worked, it’s a rather inconvenient and short-sighted fix vs permanently fixing their login website itself. Thought that was rather short-sighted of them.

I was really worried that the online celebrity shop would be very ordinary. I checked a lot of guides and surrounding homestays on the Internet, and finally chose this one. The experience of staying there was really good. It was my favorite inn on this trip. All the staff had uniforms, and I liked their vests very much [grin]. We came by taxi and contacted them in advance. They also had a shuttle bus to take the luggage. In the off-season, we were upgraded to a room. The room was very large with 68 square meters. The parent-child room had two large beds, a living room, and a bathtub. It was very quiet at night. There is a very beautiful garden in the inn, as if Alice in Wonderland. During the stay, I also met a wedding reception, which is enough to show how beautiful his home is. The nearby Mangosteen Coffee and Muyu Ruins Restaurant are also theirs. The hotel gave Mangosteen Coffee afternoon tea and Muyu discount coupons. Mangosteen Coffee is really suitable for lazy people to lie flat on the tour. After putting down the luggage and visiting Shuhe Ancient Town, I lay down in Mangosteen Coffee to drink afternoon tea and brush my phone to kill time. For dinner, I walked 2 steps to the Muyu Ruins Restaurant next door. When I left the store, I also gave a black tea souvenir.

The hotel is located north of lijiang ancient city that takes about 5-7mins walk to the most happening area of the ancient city. We booked a room for 3 nights and I really enjoyed the stay, the room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and my wife loves the shower water pressure. Hotel reception is 24/7, furthermore the staffs are friendly and helpful. They provide decent local food, and the restaurant is beautiful. Besides, they have wonderful facilities such as indoor & outdoor sitting areas, study areas, laundry room(free of charge if DIY), mahjong room, tea room etc. We will come back again when we visit lijiang next time.

The scenic area in Lijiang is very commercialized. The hotel has been upgraded. Although it does not completely retain the traditional style of the Naxi courtyard, there are some mix and match, but the overall quality is good in the scenic area. The hotel is in a good location and is convenient to various commercial streets. The breakfast is average and the variety is not very rich. There will be ginger tea and milk available. The scenery on the roof is good, overlooking the ancient town of Lijiang.

It's very comfortable to live in and has floor heating. The owner of the B&B is very enthusiastic and the experience is great. The flower cakes made by the B&B are also delicious. They are not very sweet and suit my taste. The food recommended by the owner is also great.
