Apartamentos Funchal

Been going to this place many,many times. Really happy but previously staff changes have meant the service is not what it was. On the last visit we arrived late and when we went to the room it was disgusting and clearly the room had not been serviced ready for us. Strangely the owner only seems to have one set of keys. So we went for a meal and halfway through the meal they rang and said can you come back to the appartments to open the door. Had to walk all the way back mid meal to let them in to clean the place. Which we ended up doing ourselves.No apology no adjustment to the rate for all that hassle. They honestly think they are doing you a favour by allowing you to stay there.Went to book for this year and they were so rude wth the messages again and we said enough is enough. Never again. As long as you can use Google translate, don't mind using the same towels all week and don't care about being spoken to like a child it's fine.

We really enjoyed our stay here. I would say the location was perfect, baring in mind we have a 3 and 5 year old they could both walk to shops, bars, beach, restaurants without too much complaining! On the final day we even walked to Playa de Las Americas but stopped for food half way. I know a few people have said the room was dated but I would genuinely say it was standard for a continental apartment. We had a two bedroom apartment and it was massive! We did end up moving our mattresses to the living room floor purely because the windows in both rooms were very easy to open and we wouldn’t have wanted either of our children to open them without us hearing/knowing as they could have fallen. The television was great with a range of channels. Bathroom had a really good shower and a washing machine. We had a sofa and dining room table in our front room plus a separate kitchen. Nice balcony and it felt safe with our kids out there. There isn’t a clean during your stay unless you pay 50 euros but it was spotless when we arrived and they provided loads and loads of towels. Our family had a one bedroom apartment and it was of course smaller than ours (having one less bedroom) but they were happy with it. Their apartment overlooked the road (ours overlooked the pool) so I asked them about noise but they said they didn’t hear any really. Although it said the apartments had Wi-Fi when we logged in it took us to a further login page and we couldn’t get on. My father in law asked at Reception and the lady couldn’t get him on either but it doesn’t sound like other people had a problem so maybe it was just us. As well as location the other top point of the apartment was the pool! So many sun beds, very quiet, baby pool to use. We really liked it. There was a slight confusion at check out when the cleaner came to us at 9. We raised it at reception and the owner was very cross, I think with the cleaner, maybe with me… I’m not entirely sure. She wanted me to wait while she was on the phone but we just wanted to get to breakfast and I told her it really didn’t matter. I only even went to talk to her as I didn’t want to be charged that we were late checking out of check out was 9…. Which it wasn’t it was 11 so to be honest all was good and we were happy. Overall a lovely, good value stay!!

Booked this apartment through ***********, having been to the resort several times we kind of knew where we wanted to be. The location was a nice walk down to the beach front and only 15 mins walk along to Las americas. The room we had was on the top floor facing the main road but it had 4 terraces and was well kitted out, washing machine microwave first room with a full full on first aid kit and ironing board. Only downside was no air con but the fan saved the day. There is no maid service unless you pay but we were left everything we needed and to be honest I preferred not having one, like I say we had enough towels, bin bags, cleaning equipment etc so it's definitely one we would go back to

Stayed in attic appartment.Spotlessly clean. Staff particularly Jaqueline were fantastic.Really looked after us a grand value for money. Central to everything and quiet late at night. We will be visiting these appartments for years to come. If there was a negative I would say 1 of the mattresses will need replacing. Otherwise outstanding.

Just spent a week at these appartments and stayed in the attic room. Absolutely loved it and will go back in May. The staff especially Jaqueline were delightful. Although the room had no frills it was spotlessly clean and plenty of towels made available.I is in a central position for restaurants and bars and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Very impressed. Loved it.

The majority of the apartment was a bit dated especially the kitchen, however the bathroom looked as if it had been recently updated with a great rain shower, it had good water pressure and plenty hot water. Even though the apartment was dated it was clean and very good for the price we paid. These apartments seem a mixture of holiday let’s and more long term residents so don’t expect a hotel service, the apartment was cleaned once during our week’s stay which suited us fine. There was a bit of noise from the bars downstairs but that usually died down by 11pm. The big bonus for us, was there were no guests reserving sun beds around the pool. 👍
