Hotel Roissy Lourdes

Lourdes|0.3km from Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes
There was a literal brown sht trace in one of the beds the attendance was the worst one I’ve ever gotten, I’m ashamed to have chosen this as my hotel and receiving such a miserable experience from it. I went with my family (with elders and children) for one night, at the reception there was a lady (She had long braided hair and dark skin -just in case the hotel sees this so they know what type of staff they are working with), we were leaving to Paris at 7am on train the morning after so we asked her if it was possible for her to reserve a cab for the morning so that we could go to the train station, to which she said she would do, then we asked her about the breakfast and she said it was going to be set up at 6 am (since the train station was very far away and we needed time to shower, eat and then leave in the cab). The morning we were leaving we arrived at the reception at 5:45 am, there was no breakfast served and no one there, there was a sign that said “If absent at night call *cell number*”, however, we called it multiple times and no one replied. We waited for the cab, around 45 minutes had gone by and the cab never arrived to pick us up. We had 7 suitcases and as I said, two elders and two children. Since apparently there weren’t going to be any more trains that day we looked up how far the train station was (over 25 minutes) and were technically given no other choice but to walk (the elder of over 70 had to carry two suitcases since the little child couldn’t bare with one and barely had any force to move it, the other elder has back and knee problems and still had to go through numerous steep roads and streets carrying a suitcase, in one part I had to stop and sit in the plain street because I felt toile throwing up, but since I hadn’t eaten anything because of the unbelievable bad attention that woman gave us then there was nothing to throw up). I’m just telling you how rough it all was for us just because the lady at the reception couldn’t care less about calling us a cab or arranging the breakfast she said she would arrange (to which we had already paid for before hand. We paid 6 breakfasts just for nothing, unbelievable!). We’ll try to contact the hotel and demand a refund for this horrible experience, they should look more into their staff before hiring them, it’s incredible how one single person can cause all this just because they don’t want to do their job right. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, most unpleasant experience ever.

I am a firm believer in the adage that “You get what you pay for,” and that was the case for this stay. First off, I can not say enough about the staff. Particularly Beatrice on the desk was outstanding. The hotel’s location to the grotto is excellent. The hotel is fairly easy to get to, was clean and secure. There is a lift. Regretfully, the first floor room was quite warm, particularly for Mid-September. There is no air-con, nor an available fan. Opening the patio door helped. However, as there is a restaurant immediately below, which resulted in a strong cooking smell and it was quite noisy late into the night. The patio is simply a roof top with chairs and tables all shared by multiple units, so room security with the patio door open is a minor consideration. The beds were a major issue for us. The beds are low, the mattress very soft and short (I am less than 6 feet). The beds also “moved around” as we were sleeping, pushing away from the wall, and the mattress slipping of the box spring(?). After one night I spoke with Beatrice at the desk and she arraigned for us to upgrade and move to a sister hotel right next door. Turning us over to Thomas, we were shown two possible rooms, which did cost more, but both which were excellent. Our next two nights were fantastic. I did not realize our’s was a handicapped room, which was a great benefit for myself. The restaurant breakfast was outstanding, the evening bar pleasant albeit way to noisy with karaoke for this old man. Staff were helpful in arranging early morning transport to the train station. In summary, the Hotel Continental is fine is you are a 20 year old backpacker. If your retired and want a much improved experience, stay at Hotel Le Solitude

Hotel very close to the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes! It is a pity that we arrived at the Paris High Speed Rail Station and found that the train stopped at that time! Did not be able to live in this hotel, but the photos are very good!

Location, location, location. I like this hotel simply because of its proximity to the St. Joseph gate, you could even see the hotel from the entrance. We actually got a view of the sanctuary entrance from our room (620). Due to its location, there are lots of nearby restaurants and souvenir shops within the vicinity. Do note that we got 10% discount coupons on some affiliated restaurants and shops. The L5 bus stop is just by the sanctuary entrance, if you need to get around the city or to the train station. The Wifi was quick and reliable. Room was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning. Oh and I love the staff, they were very pleasant and helpful. We would book this again next time we visit Lourdes.

Centrally located less than a kilometer from the Sanctuary/Grotto. A lift is just around the corner from the hotel which will bring straight down to the main street. There were four of us and we had two rooms -- a family room with four beds and a single room with one double bed. My granddaughter was not feeling well the next day and since our train back to Paris did not leave until late in the afternoon, we asked to extend one of the rooms and paid for the additional time. The request was received well and handled very efficiently by the people at the front desk -- I think it is the owner and her son. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were also very spotless with good strong hot water. They served a filling and tasty buffet breakfast -- cereals, fruits, bread, cold cuts and eggs plus coffee and juices. Very good value for money. The sanctuary/grotto is a ten minute walk away. If you're attending the evening procession, the lift closes at 11:30 so try to catch to save an uphill walk to the hotel.
