Econo Lodge Harrisburg - Hershey

Though this is listed as a new hotel, and from the outside it does appear to be relatively new, the inside public accessible areas are a disaster. The room was fairly clean, but very dated. The hallways and single elevator were filthy. Carpets are in need if a deep clean - didn't look like they are even vacuumed. More lighting is needed. In desperate need of painting in all areas. Breakfast is a challenge - bagels, some pastry and cereal, OJ. I've seen this approach towards general maintenance and up-keep in a couple of other hotels. It's indicative of an owner that's trying to put as little into the facility, while attempting to squeeze out as much income as possible. Kudos to the staff though - they were every friendly and efficient during check in and out. Good location to major highways and restaurants.

Exceptional hotel with excellent kind staff and very clean rooms. I stayed here for 3 nights and enjoy my room. My room was clean and spacious. Cleaning staff were so courteous. Breakfast was only coffee, bagels and cereal but kitchen area was clean also. Will definitely come back here again. Only complaint I can say was i had to wait till 5:00 p.m. to check in so lost time. Other than that, I highly recommend this place.

We checked in and then went to supper. When we returned we went to the room assigned to us. We opened the door and the garbage can was full, plastic bag on floor, bed not made and the light was on. We quickly closed the door and went to the front desk. The gentleman assigned us a new room on the first floor. We walk in and it was a nice room. King size bed, tv that worked but not a good guide. Decent bathroom. We could hear a young child in the next room crying and making other noises while we were watching some tv. We turned tv off at 10 pm and settled in for what we hoped would be a good night sleep. Well it turned out the room next door must of been having a get together in their room with other people. The loud talking and laughing went on and on until after 1 am when my husband went to the front desk to ask them to speak to those in the room. When he returned he said no one was at the front desk. So after another 1/2 hour I called the hotel and to the gentleman in charge that he needed to quiet this room down or call the police. It then got a little quieter but the female kept yelling at the young child to go to "f" bed and go the "f sleep". She continued this until well after 3 am. When we checked out at 6:45 am I informed the gentleman that we were not happy with the evening situation and he said I will have management call you. Yeah right.
