We only paid £42 for our room as we wanted to be close to the airport …. Used Twilight check in so checked our cases in today and fly in the morning. Room absolutely fine, bar area nice, prices bloody great for a hotel in Manchester especially if you get here for happy hour between 5pm and 7pm … I think it’s Sunday to Thurs. The reason I am writing this review is because of a friendly, very helpful black chap named Michael, he’s awesome! I offered to buy him a drink as we were leaving as I had no cash … he said he couldn’t …. I was gutted, he deserved it!!

I've stayed here before when it was a lot better. Nowadays the outside of the building is in desperate need of decorating, with paint flaking off the walls. First thing that went wrong was the booking from Trip.com somehow became lost in the system despite us have received an acknowledgement number from the hotel. Next, the sink did not hold water because the rubber seal in the plug was worn out. The bathroom has no windows and the fan did not work so smells linger. On the second day the hot water tap in the sink stopped flowing - no water, neither hot nor cold. They readily fixed that for us when we complained, but we decided not to risk showering for our stay in case the water failed again. The TV remote did not turn the TV on - I found that there was a switch on the TV we could use to turn it on and off, so we used that instead and the remote fortunately worked for everything else needed on the TV. On the last morning my wife wanted to use the hairdryer and found it did not work - upon checking, I found that the wire had been pulled right out of the switch. We never found the bar. Lastly - the breakfasts. The Friday and Saturday meals were very good, but the Sunday breakfast was served by a different staff member who was quite parsimonious. My wife and I both ordered the full English breakfast, but what we got on the Sunday was one breakfast shared between two plates. Two rashers of bacon were simply cut in two, with my wife getting the meaty end of the two rashers and I getting the fatty end. There was one egg each - not two - and the scrambled eggs we ordered were merely stirred to break the yolk rather than properly scrambled. The portion of beans was minimal, not even a child's portion. We saw another diner having the same treatment and he was not pleased either. The room was a bit too warm for us but we could not find any way of adjusting the temperature. On the plus side, the bed was nice and firm. Reception staff were not always easy to get hold of or we would have passed all our complaints on to them as we came across them, but we had lots to do and did not want to waste our time. It's a shame, because it is the best hotel for us location-wise, but we won't be going back.

I just HAD to write a review on my stay here. Well... this was my 3rd hotel in 4 nights of travelling. It was also the cheapest one, and the only one I was kind of dreading! Oh how wrong could I have been! From the moment I entered, the receptionist was so friendly and helpful. Welcoming, kind and professional. I asked if there was any fridge I could use to store some food items I was travelling with and they kindly put these in the staff area for me overnight. Could not do enough to help. The hotel feels more like a modern new hostel than a hotel. The vibe in the communal area felt very much like a classy hostel. It was warm, friendly and welcoming. Free unlimited tea and coffee down there was great. Breakfast was only continental, which I hadn't realised. Lovely pastries, but a shame no hot food was served. Rooms are very small, as I had expected, but functional, Plenty of charging sockets, good hot shower with amenities. As I arrived into the station at terminal 1, and was flying from terminal 1 the next day it is quite a walk with heavy bags. There is no shuttle bus or alternative way to get to terminal 1 from here, only the skylink. This would have been fine, but the moving escalators on the skylink were switched off. When I asked the hotel staff about this, they said they have not been working for months. I don't know why this is, but it would have made moving to/from the hotel a lot easier so it was a shame. Overall a very good and unexpected stay. For the price, I would stay again. Thanks to all the staff for such a pleasant welcome.

Despite an initial confusion about my booking , I added the breakfast and got an immediate upgrade to an executive double room, bed was comfy, shower was hot and consistent, the room did get a little hot during the night Breakfast was unlimited and fir the most part the cooked breakfast was well cooked, presented and plentiful. Would definitely stay again

The hotel does not have its own airport shuttle, so you need to book the shuttle online. It’s about £3.60 per adult, and there’s no night shuttle! To get to the hotel from T2 Terminal, you can take the overpass trail from T2 Terminal. First go to the train station, then go downstairs, exit the gate on the first floor of the station towards T1, cross the road where there is a pedestrian signal, and go towards Clayton Hotel Walk in the opposite direction and cross the road at the first pedestrian crossing signal you encounter. At this point, you can follow the trail in a circle, or you can go directly across a dirt road to the side of the road. At this time, you can see the Crown Plaza Hotel. Follow the trail to reach the hotel. The whole journey takes twenty minutes. If you come out of Terminals T1 and T3, you don't need to take the overpass, but you still need to cross two sections of road. For those who come to Manchester City for the first time, it is indeed a test! In addition, the cleanliness of the hotel rooms can be said to be worthy of four-star standards! But don’t expect a hotel room to be that spacious! Except the TV is a bit big compared to the size of the room. You can basically only watch programs like BBC on TV. Programs that require an Internet connection, such as YouTube, can sometimes connect to the Internet and sometimes cannot! Netflix and other online media require registration and payment! The free WI-FI provided by the hotel is relatively fast when it can be connected to the Internet. The key is that it often fails to connect. I don't know if it is because of too many customers! The standard of this network cannot match the four-star level! The hotel breakfast is typical British style. The daily menu does not change, and you can eat as early as 5:30, which is more friendly for passengers catching an early flight!

We booked here for one night. This hotel is literally a 2 minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road train station. Check in was straight forward and fast, getting to your room even quicker. Lifts are near reception so no lugging suitcases etc. Staff were friendly, there’s a bowl of your favourite chocolates on reception, my daughter was allowed to help herself to whatever she liked…that was a nice touch. We booked a room for 4 people, now the room was fairly small, but this is a city centre hotel at a great price. Bathroom was the right size. There is a thermostat near the door, we felt the heating could have been placed in a better location as it took a while to heat the room, the blower was right near the door, so heated that area quickly, but not the rest of the room. Overall the hotel was clean, staff were all friendly and happy to talk if you were…we liked that too. This hotel is used by all type of customers, families, business people, singles and couples. The location is great, you are a 15 minute walk away from the main town centre…with the Arndale Centre. In fairness I think why would you need to walk that far as there’s loads of eateries and shops all around this hotel, enough to keep the day traveller happy. The pictures don’t fully do it justice as we had stayed in the room at the time of me taking them. I loved the view! I would stay here again, the price which is important was the best feature, cheapest hotel by a mile.

Rooms are clean and tidy. Lovely comfy bed but pillows need replacing as falling apart There was no hairdryer in our room but this was quickly rectified once we asked for one, We had a lovely chilled stay in our room but would not recommend the in house restaurant. I have left a separate review of that..👎 Reception and cleaning staff who we met around the hotel were super friendly. We were on floor 5 and it was so peaceful. If I hadn’t heard a shower (very quiet) next door I would have thought we were the only ones on that floor. Hotel is just a short walk from everywhere so in a good position… Only criticism is the hotel is so hot and I mean hot. You melt at reception when you check in. Also we couldn’t get the air con to work in our room so it was. Constantly 19 degrees

This hotel is not far from the airport, the front desk service is great, the room has a bathtub, and there are pedestrian streets and restaurants around. The nearest restaurant, this very good 5 pounds and drinks, went to the Piccadilly train station for more than 20 taxis.

Spent one night here as I was travelling to a match in Old Trafford. The stadium is only 10 minute walk away. I requested a quiet room as I had my young son with me. I must say that they certainly did accommodate me. The room was clean and very small. The bed was very comfortable. One tip, if you want to charge your phone and use it while lying in bed, bring an extra long phone charger cable, as the only socket in the room is under the TV, which is in the corner of the room Its a maybe, that I will stay again. I got it for a great price. Overall, happy with stay. It is the basic of basic hotels! Heard from other that the tram can be loud, but I never heard it. Gregs shop next door in petrol station was handy.

I was surprised after reading reviews I wasn't expecting much but yes it did have a bit of a smell in the room but everywhere was bright and cheerful the staff where fantastic and food great.. slightly annoyed at paying £7 for WiFi in the room but it was a fair price for the hotel and taxi to the airport was booked for me the cost was £15 The door to the room had to be slammed and I think this was a problem with alot of them judging by the constant slamming of Doors throughout the night but all in all not as terrible As expected also a nice location not too noisy and actually some grounds to walk in ..don't be put off by reviews if you want cheap and cheerful.
