This B&B in suburban New Plymouth enjoys an elevated position and boasts a wonderful front deck, so great views of the ocean and Mt Taranaki to be had - as long as the weather permits. We were lucky on our first morning - with brilliant views of the sunrise on the ocean as well as Taranaki - but not so lucky on our second. Host Brad is very friendly and a fount of knowledge about the local area including restaurants. A definite highlight was the breakfast that Brad cooked up - fresh eggs from his free-ranging chooks as well as bread that he'd baked. We kept our vitamin C counts up by feasting on delicious feijoas from Brad's tree. There are three bedrooms for guests; we had a double which was a bit of a tight squeeze. Only one bathroom and one toilet for up to 5 or 6 guests so we were a bit worried but it didn't prove an issue. A word of warning if you are not a feline fancier - there are three very elegant cats in residence and I quickly formed the view that they're actually in charge.
