The team here are so lovely and friendly! I was only staying for one night in Leatherhead for work and they really made so much effort to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I had a couple of presentations in the evening that I admitted to Joanna on reception I was quite nervous about and she wished me the best of luck and even checked in on how they went the next morning when I went down for breakfast. Her colleague Petia was also lovely and super helpful. I think it’s these small interactions that can make all the difference and I was impressed.

I came in at night for a stay over . I walked to the premium inn for a bus to the hotel which cost £4.5. The check in process was smooth and easy, there is always someone at the front desk. The room itself is quite spacious with TV , kettle, tea and a heater. There is a 3in1 shampoo body wash and hand wash for shower. Towel was ok but stained. The breakfast is typical full English breakfast buffet style with range of choices on bread and cereal. The cafe bar is comfy and have plenty of seats. The food is of standard but quite a few of the plates were not properly cleaned. Overall I would say it is ok to stay in.

Attended here 24/9 for a family wedding. After some initial planning issues due to multiple staff changes the wedding event ran very smoothly. The planner, Charlotte and the M/C, Chris were excellent and could not have done more to keep the whole event on track. The wedding took place in the Tithe Barn which transformed from official venue to dining room to dance floor seamlessly. The transition was helped by the perfect weather which meant guests could linger in the spacious gardens whilst the staff did their thing. Food was well prepared and even the minor issue of incorrect dishes to specific individuals was quickly rectified. Waiting staff were very extremely pleasant and affable whilst also being efficient. Buffet style breakfast the following morning with a good selection of hot or cold foods to select from. Lower levels of this building have benefitted from being totally refurbished following some severe flooding and this gives the hotel a really sleek and modern initial appearance. However, once you climb the stairs to the bedrooms all that changes. Whilst there was nothing specific that meant I had to complain the upper levels are really tired. The décor is dated and although clean could really do with updating. The windows are single glazed, timber framed so must ship heat to the outside world by the bucket load. The hot water in the sink took an eternity to heat and even then was only mildly warm. We, and other guests in our party, had multiple failures of the room key cards which meant having to trek all the way back down to reception to get the issue sorted. Yes, these are very first world issues but this is not a cheap hotel, it's run by a major international group and should be better. My advice, by all means book for a meeting, party, wedding or similar function but don't book over night rooms. It really was like visiting two separate venues on the one site.

We booked to stay, as we were attending a 60th Birthday party at the Hotel. We booked and paid online so checking was very easy. We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very spacious with a large king size bed. Which was extremely comfortable! We were impressed with the newly renovated bathroom, with lovely soft fluffy towels. The room has all the amenities that we needed ie iron, hairdryer and extra pillows. We booked a room with breakfast - which was excellent and was available till 10.30 which was great. A good array of hot food included quality sausages and bacon. All the breakfast staff were very helpful and genuinely cheerful, as were the reception staff and the bar staff and food servers at the evening function. We really enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is a real gem very clean spacious and welcoming on entry bedroom was very spacious and clean lovely big bathroom too The swimming pool and jacuzzi was perfect and very clean too. Breakfast had a good selection. And I would fully recommend staying here if I’m the area as for the rate it was compared to other hotels near gatwick airport it really was a real find and I’d certainly stay here again Plenty of car parking which is free so that adds no extra cost overnight This is a real find and perfect for anyone that needs access to gatwick airport at lower costs than hotels near the airport.

I specifically booked a night at the Sofitel Gatwick because it included 'Meet and Greet' parking with Maple Parking. Had they not included this I would have still stayed but made other arrangments for my car. I arrived at the Maple Parking Meet and Greet and parked the car. Took my keys over to the attendant and signed in. I then asked if they could give me 20 minutes to check in to the hotel, change clothes and bring a bag back to the car. We didnt want to bring a bag of unclean clothes on holiday with us. Here's where things went downhill faster than Gwynth Paltrow on ski's. The attendant, a tall bloke with a mid-european accent shouted at me 'No, do you know you are at an airport'. He actually shouted this. Shouted. To a customer. Take a minute to breathe that in. Fortunatly I knew I was at an airport, having driven 4 hours to get there. To hear that I was at an airport was no surprise, to be shouted at by a car park attendant was. I explained that I didnt want to take a case of unclean clothes on holiday with me. His response to that was 'we are extremly busy and your car will be removed immediately'. I asked if the hotel would hold the bag and he replied 'No they will not hold your stupid bag'. Here's where I should have murdered him with his Maple Meet and Greet Staff lanyard, but I did not. I asked for my keys back to be told once again in an truely agresive manner 'if you take your keys I will close the entry and you can't come back'. I took the keys and left. I then had to park at Gatawick Long stay for an additional £150. We finally checked into the hotel, explained the situation. The checkin lady (Alessia?) apologised and gave us two tokens for a free drink at the bar. They also kept our bag for us. Is this the fault of Sofitel Gatwick? I think it is. They decided to partner with a company that treats people appalingly. So they've got to accept responsibility for that. Please share this review, If I saw something like this I would have chose another car park or another hotel. Other people should be warned.

Was refused a lunch serving even though there was a range of tables available with the manager saying they had to concentrate on their bookings! Booked a table for the following week and arrived on time, sat down at our table and watched as two groups were sat down presented with menu’s and had there orders taken! After 15 minutes of being ignored we decided to leave! As someone who’s been visiting the running horses for over 30 years I’d have to say it’s latest face lift is definitely its worst! I cannot comment on the food as we didn’t even get a menu!!

We have been staying at the Hotel for a few weeks now. After long hours at work, we just wanted to stay somewhere where we can disconnect with work, relax and connect with other people. Nevertheless, I would like to share with everyone that Bar attendant (James) would always go that extra mile to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. Is not just about serving you a drink and taking orders. Excellent customer service by always interacting with customers, offering advice, friendly, accommodative making our staying very pleasant. I don’t usually stay in Ibis hotels but this one is like no other ibis hotel I’ve stayed at. From the laid back informal reception area to the contemporary rooms this was a good overnight stay. I appreciated the welcome cookies. The room was spacious but clearly designed for short stays in regards to storage space. There’s USB ports by the bedside. The bathroom has a shower, no bath and good to see the body soap and shampoo in dispensers rather than individual plastic bottles. The water though was only luke warm. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent. Location is excellent in the centre of town and just a few minutes walk to the station. The restaurant menu was limited but adequate for most tastes. My only complaint was the pulsing noise of the bathroom extractor fan which is independent of the air conditioning in the room and not able to switch off.

We booked to stay at the Talbot as we were attending a function there. We appreciated the building is listed so as expected it's a little tired looking. The room we stayed in no.214, unfortunately smelt of drains so rather unpleasant. The hotel was fully booked so there was no chance of changing rooms. The safe was locked shut when we arrived, something I would have thought the staff getting the rooms ready would have had on their check list to ensure all was ok. It was just a little inconvenient to have to go & find a member of staff with a master key to rectify. The evening of the function we had attended we intended on having a light meal of pizza in the bar but were told they weren't taking any more orders due to staffing numbers so we were really disappointed as we'd had a few drinks so couldn't drive elsewhere. Breakfast was OK although pricy if it hadn't been included in the room rate. Also items mentioned on the breakfast menu weren't available which was disappointing eg French toast which is something quite basic! Probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again.
