For those who want to be a bit away from the hassle of busy Como city, this is a good choice. Right at the Maltrasio ferry pier which is great!

This hotel was an utter disappointment. To start, the prices: abominable. Upcharging anywhere they can.. 5 euros for a water bottle, 8% service charges, room rates, 20 euro quinoa bowl (the size of my fist with some edamame, almonds, and a slice of eggplant, no exaggeration), everything. Furthermore, the staff were untrained and unprofessional- ranging from rude to creepy, two staff members even made unwanted advances (asking for my number, staring, a wink). The decor (aside from the dining room) was outdated...think Home Goods in Florida, and the hallway looked something out of a motel. The breakfast was unimpressive, cold bacon, cold eggs, smoked salmon served at room temperature.. Save your money.

Amazing food, friendly staff; knowledgeable concierge to help us use the ferries. Room was a little dated but the view was spectacular. I would stay here again and recommend to those looking to splurge a little. Really amazing place that we won’t forget.

Nice hotel on the lake. Pool on the lake was a nice plus. Dinned at poolside bar food was good. Rooms were nice only issue was shower wall not long enough and water gets all over the floor when you shower. Quite hotel, several small places to eat next to hotel. Breakfast buffet very nice.

I love this hotel. When browsing the website I really struggled to understand why this wasn’t a 5* but after visiting I now know. We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready which wasn’t a problem at all. The receptionist took our phone number and said she would call when the room was ready. We were then directed to the pool bar which is lovely. The service there wasn’t great that particular day but improved significantly throughout our stay and this was one of our favourite places to eat. The food is a tad pricey but completely worth it. We went for a wonder after eating but the area doesn’t really offer much. There’s no shops nearby and not many pavements to walk on. The water bus is so close though and it’s really convenient! We went to the spa and went straight in for a back massage. The therapists were waiting on hand and this was really relaxing. We called back to reception to see if the room was ready and it was (they must have forgotten to call us). We were directed to our room by the lady on reception who unfortunately had a strong BO problem which wasn’t pleasant. She was lovely though. The room was traditional and I loved it. We opted for the ‘romantic package’ and it was so worth it!!! We got an upgrade and lots of other perks such as a meal for 2 with wine and a bottle of Prosecco of arrival. The bathroom really let the room down. It was in desperate need of replacement. The bath had mould around the edge and a mouldy shower curtain. There was also no extractor fan which could be the reason for the mould. There was also no where to sit and do your make up or your hair, and no plug sockets near any mirrors, this made doing your hair very difficult. The air conditioning was effective but a bit of a health hazard. I felt like it was probably doing more harm than good with all the dirt in it. You are also restricted to bottled drinking water. 1 small bottle between 2 people per day. There was no advice as to whether you could drink the tap water and no nearby shops to buy any from. This meant on hot days you had to raid the dreaded minibar! The room didn’t have an iron or an ironing board. I’m sure if we had called reception they could have arranged this but it was a bit inconvenient when your clothes have been squashed into your suitcase. Surely all travellers require them. On our first evening we went to the bar for a drink. The bar/restaurant only had a few tables occupied and all the staff were stood around near the bar area. We sat for about 10 minutes before we decided to get up to trouble them for a drink. The wine was brought over and we weren’t asked if we wanted anything else for the whole time we were sat. When finishing the wine, we had to go to the bar to trouble them again for the bill. The breakfast is fantastic! Such a good spread and very organised. The service much improved from this point onwards and going for breakfast was a highlight. We enquired about boat rides via concierge and they what

The hotel is so different than what it looks like on the pictures. The photographer forgot a lot of real views. The old building is in fact presenting a few room. But there is an other building at the back from the 70’s including lot of room and not renewed since decades. I booked a lake view but they are not fronting the lake because there is another building in front of the lake. The pool is not fronting the hotel but you have to pass a tunnel under the public road to access. Not romantic at all. I would not recommend this hotel for romantic purpose. I chose to leave the hotel and not to sleep there.

Our room overlooked a hillside villa and lake. The water from the creek could be heard from our balcony. Breakfast was amazing. Our server, Adonis, was highly attentive and made sure our coffee was fresh. Wonderful three nights at this location.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a package. On arrival I was told with great gusto at reception that I had been upgraded to a larger room, which sounded very nice. I had originally requested a garden view as I was weary of being on the lakeside with a noisy road in between and as I discovered once at the hotel, building works going on nearby. Yes, the room was large and there was a balcony, but the outlook left a lot to be desired. A view of the fire escape, large fir trees and a tiny speck of a hydrangea bush and a worn tennis court. Not what would be classed as a room with a garden view. As another reviewer has mentioned the restaurant service in the evening was somewhat all over the place. The saving grace was the excellent breakfast and comfortable bed! Not a hotel I would recommend staying in even if you are out all day seeing the wonderful Lake Como as Moltrasio is not an ideal location other than the nearby ferry pier.

The service at this hotel is 5 star! They accommodated us beyond what we expected. Our flight was super delayed and we arrived at the hotel at 2am instead of 945pm and they had bellhops waiting and a swift easy check in to the room. For some reason our A/C wasn't working properly so for that night - they gave us a 2nd room down the hall to sleep in but we could leave our bags in the original room. That's true service at 3am! They let us keep the 2nd room for 2 nights. At that time - they got the A/C unit working but it wasn't really blowing cold air so they moved us to one of their finest suites with a large balcony and Jacuzzi to make things right. Gorgeous room - beautiful A/C and lovely outdoor area. They also gave us complimentary champagne and bottle of wine. I hope they didn't think we were angry at them because we weren't. They were really amazing! In advance of my trip - I spoke with the spa and concierge to put together spa treatments and select restaurants and tours. They were BRILLIANT from start to finish. I feel like I made friends with them and I indeed miss them! We had like 4 days of spa services (6 night trip) and they assisted us with a 4 hour private boat tour around the lake with two stops in the specialized towns. The food at the hotel was top notch - and their suggestions for restaurants were all flawless. They arranged the taxi transfers to and from the restaurants back to the hotel and the drivers were always on time and professional. Im not sure why they don't have 5 stars awarded to them but don't let the 4 star designation make you think you're getting subpar experiences. Really appreciate everything you did for us from the moment we arrived till the sad moment of checking out. We will be back - and you'll have to put up with the million emails setting up restaurants and spa treatments again lol. Hope I was not too annoying!!!!!!!!!! Lots of Love from New York! Bradley R

We came for a post trip extension of a river cruise. I also paid for an upgrade. Our room was old, dead plant on balcony, old furniture, burnt table and such a disappointment. We did change rooms and it was better. Breakfast was amazing and in the garden. Pool is extremely old but beautiful and pool staff was prompt and excellent. Dinner at the hotel was not great. Soggy pizza. Expensive. The problem is there is nothing in this small town. There is a ferry stop across the street but other than that and one or 2 restaurants nothing. No shopping, no mini mart, and you would need to reserve a driver or taxi ahead of time. We would not stay there again. Apparently they are refurbishing the hotel to become a 5 star soon. Again the problem is transportation. Ferry lines in other towns are long and sold out times of each day. I guess you could swim in the lake but there are a lot of speed boats Pool is small and lounge chairs fill up fast for the day. Biggest problem we had is that the bell hop gave our driver to Milan to someone else. The hotel could not find us a driver. We booked privately. Only book through the hotel. It’s safer. Hotel staff nice and helpful. Location is a bust for us. And to be clear I can’t imagine this with little kids. We are older and did not want to just sit all day.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Imperiale in Moltrasio and was blown away by their scooter rentals. The booking process was incredibly easy, and the concierge was extremely helpful. The most convenient part was that the scooters were right outside the doorstep! The service was rich in detail and on point. The scooters were really cool and eco-friendly, making my Lake Como experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Very lovely hotel in beautiful location. Rooms very comfortable. We had a private courtyard outside our room, where it was lovely to sit. Staff was very helpful in making restaurant reservations and respectful with handling our luggage. The most praise- worthy thing was the check-out procedure--not only fast, but an itemized bill was given for us to review and initial so no surprising charges. We were given a copy without having to ask. We were asked for a credit card, rather than having charges put on the card with which we registered. We had the included breakfast, which was very nicely done with a huge variety of foods and good service. Location was great.
