Hotels Near Fran Ford White-crowned Pigeon Preserve in Monroe County

Our first time in the Keys, for a weddnig, and we chose to stay at this hotel. The lobby was fairly nice, as far as lobbies go, and the front desk staff was nice. That is pretty much where the niceties end. We got into our room, which smelled moldy and our shower had a lot of bugs in it. Disgusting right? We requested a new room and thankfully we were immediately moved. The new room still smelled a little moldy, but it was faint and there were no bugs so we stayed. A friend of mine was staying here as well & he had the same problem with bugs and his second room smelled extremely moldy! Not sure how he stayed in there with that smell. Overall, room cleanliness was a challenege to say the least. The couch in our room was stained, the floor just didn't feel clean and I had my shoes on, and I found a wash cloth that appeared to have been used but never replaced! We had a couple technical issues as well, one of the nightstand lights didn't work but maintenance was able to fix that by replacing the bulb. Our phone, however, did not work at all and after a few tries at new phone cords, maintenance could not get it to work. Thank God we didn't have any emergencies otherwise we would have had to ride the elevator all the way down to the lobby to get help! The lighting in the room was terrible, its pretty dark even with the curtains drawn back. The bathroom shower leaked all over the floor and water ran under the door into the sink area. The poolside bar was pretty good, inflated prices of course, but the food & drinks they delivered was good. The pool area was pretty but unaccessable the entire time we were there. It was apparently being renovated but the only thing we saw was someone painting the deck and draining the pool. The fact that this hotel charges a resort fee is a crime in and of itself. The entire building needs to undergo mold removal, deep cleaning & each room needs renovating. When we get a chance to make the trip to the Keys again I promise we will never stay in this hotel again. To be honest, I doubt we will ever stay in a Hilton again if we can help it because of the negative experience we had here.

We decided to spend our 29th anniversary here. When we got there it was great. The front desk guy was nice, the pool and outside bar was awesome. The room was nice and we had a great view of the ocean. The next day is when it went downhill. We got up, ready and left to explore. We returned around 10 pm to a room that had not been serviced. Well they were nice enough to replace the 2 towels with fresh ones. They must have a towel shortage at the hotel because that morning before we left we had stopped at the front desk to ask for more towels and the young lady said no problem and went on to answer the phone. I told my wife as we were leaving “we’re not getting extra towels, she didn’t write it down”. I was right. Anyways, so we get back to our room that night and the bed hadn’t been made up and it looked like it did when we left. Minus the 2 new towels. I should’ve called the front desk and complained. It probably wouldn’t have mattered anyway if I did plus I didn’t want someone up in my room at 10 o’clock at night making up my bed which should’ve been done while we were gone all day. So we just made it up ourselves. The next day we checked out. I feel cheated and definitely didn’t get my moneys worth at this hotel. I paid over $1,300.00 and I expect the bed to be made up and a few more towels in the room.

Two words— bed bugs! This hotel is awful, and I mean awful. I checked out more than two weeks ago and filed a complaint regarding bed bugs. Each time I call or email I’m told that someone will follow up with me about the bed bugs, but it hasn’t happened. They do not care about their guests, and the rooms are definitely not clean. Trust me when I say HARD pass on this hotel unless you want to be covered in bedbug bites. Side note: they charged me for breakfast when it was supposed to be included, and the day I checked out my luggage went missing from my room (the door was cracked open) and then it magically re-appeared back in my room when I was at the front trying to get help. I tracked my luggage using find my iPhone and poof, the front guy made some calls and it was back where I left it. You can’t make this stuff up folks. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m a Hilton Diamond member.

The location is very good, right next to the southernmost scenic spot. The public viewing facilities in the hotel are also readily available, but personally I recommend not to choose those expensive ocean view rooms when booking, because the good views are in the public facilities The view of the room is average, so it is not necessary and the price will be much worse.

The biggest surprise is breakfast and pool. This hotel is suitable for a leisurely holiday plan. The first traffic location is excellent. You can completely rely on walking to reach the scenic spots. The second pool is comfortable. The seats are very good. The small bar is also very good. The third breakfast is really good. Stunningly unimagined level of exquisiteness, but the price is also relatively expensive. The room size is small. We have a total of 2,500 RMB a day.

The hotel for more than 6,000 nights is only part of the sea view, and the rest is the small beach of other houses, simple cars, and the scenery. The room is clean and tidy, and the bed is big and comfortable, but the noise of the air conditioner seriously affects sleep. The hotel’s seaside restaurant is good, while enjoying the food, watching the sunset.

This hotel is a kind of more lively hotel, just at the cruise terminal. In the morning breakfast, there will be cruise ships of major cruise companies coming and parked, and will drive away in the afternoon! The hotel's people are all foreign friends and buddies come together for a holiday party, the pool is very lively, the pool view room will be noisy at night! Sea view room is ok! I feel that it is not so suitable for a family to bring children, if a few families bring children together! It's convenient to go anywhere, needless to say! But to say that it is convenient, there is not much in the center of Key West, which is very convenient! The hotel is good because of its location, so the price is not high! Nothing else to say, the service level is first class! Sea view room can see the setting sun!

Fairfield inn in Marathon FL I encountered At front desk Andre, true professional and great welcoming reception, Omar is another person that works there that makes one feel very comfortable, there’s a young lady Atashia is a very warm receptionist , very helpful, the Inn is a FIVE Star. Thanks. Place is clean and breakfast is very nutritious and delicious and the ladies that work in the kitchen are very thorough and helpful!

We stopped for one night on our way to Key West. I wish we booked more nights here. We had a great stay. Aaron at the front desk was extremely helpful at checkin. He was very friendly and personable. This hotel is lucky to have him as a part of their front desk team. The lobby was beautiful with great views. We had a lot of fun playing with the complimentary games provided. We spend most of our time at the pool, which was large and lovely. Great views. The Tiki Bar made awesome drinks, one of the best pina colada’s that I ever had. We ate dinner there too, which worked out so well because our kids could keep playing at the pool and we all had fun after playing games outside. Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast the next day…really good! Try the breakfast panini sandwich, you won’t regret it! I see people talking about the resort fee. When you consider this hotel doesn’t charge for parking or wifi, offers complimentary kayak and paddle board rentals, a shuttle between their hotel and sister hotel with access to these amenities too… the resort fee is not so expensive. I’ve stayed at hotels with resort fees that charge extra for parking and internet, and include NO amenities except access to a pool and workout facility. At least this hotel gives you something for the money you spend. Thank you for a great stay, we will absolutely be back. For longer next time!
