The motel is very close to 17 Mile and Fool's Wharf. There is a western restaurant nearby, which is the most delicious meal I had in more than 10 days in the United States. It is only a 10-minute walk away.

I stayed in a motel for the price of a hotel. I don't know if Monterey is expensive in general. The light and exhaust fan in the bathroom have the same switch. The exhaust fan is so loud that I dare not turn on the light when I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night to avoid disturbing my roommates. The quilt is thin and there is no extra blanket. Of course there is air conditioning, but my roommate is afraid of the heat and dare not turn it on. In the end, I can only cover myself with a towel.
