Hotel Flor de Bromelia

A lovely family run bed and breakfast. The rooms are spread amongst several bungalows on the hillside above town. They have sweeping views across the mountains and to the gulf of Nicoya. Lots of wildlife can be seen right outside the rooms. We saw coati, agouti, parrots, hummingbirds, and squirrels. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Ours had a nice little deck. Rey David is a first rate host, friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend you stay here.

Giving 5 stars for the host/owners staff. Extremely helpful and caring people. Loved the view and the wildlife that welcomed us. The room however was a bit small and did not have a balcony. I was hoping I’d be able to sit outside and enjoy the view. I did however like their outdoor space. I sat on their benches and enjoyed my coffee. Would definitely return but would ask for a bigger room.

I hate to write such a negative review since the hotel managers (or owners?) are so charming and sweet. I rarely take the time to even write reviews. But this hotel is simple NOT worth the price. We paid $416.97 for two nights in a room with only cold water in the kitchen and bathroom sinks, a lukewarm water shower, broken wall sconce lights over the beds, no air conditioning, no screen on the porch door or kitchen window (so you can’t get a cross breeze), paper thin walls (we could hear what our neighbors were saying), dangerously slippery floors, and (what appear to be) bug droppings on the top of the mini fridge and kitchen counter. (I cleaned the droppings off, and they were back the next day.) Compare this to $576 that we paid for two nights in a premium plus room with an ocean view at Parador resort and spa in Manuel Antonio. We stayed at Parador right after leaving Hotel Flor. Parador was nice to the extreme. One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. So nice, in fact, that we referred to it as The White Lotus. By the way, a deluxe breakfast buffet was included in the price of our room at Parador In our first day at Hotel Flor, we report the lukewarm shower water and the broken wall lights to the management via WhatsApp as instructed, but received no response. On a positive note, the view from our room was beautiful and the included breakfast was very good.

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. Our family room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious, and our kids loved playing on the grounds. It is a short drive into town. The view was gorgeous (all the way to the Nicoya gulf). The hotel staff was incredible, and went out of his way to entertain the kids and help them find animals on the property. We saw the coatis, agoutis, and monkeys every day. We loved this little piece of nature, and our stay greatly enhanced our time in Monteverde.

The cabins are immaculately clean. Everything you need is included the view magical. The owners are lovely and the breakfast fresh. We all would return if in Costa Rica again. Perfect location near clod forest bat jungle hummingbird cafe and many other attractions

This place was amazing. We wished we could have stayed longer! The view is in incredible, beds were comfy, and the breakfast is yummy. The hotel is in the mountains a little outside of town. Very peaceful. It’s a family run place and the hosts are so funny and accommodating. We saw howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, coatis, and aguotis while we were there (they came right up to our rooms/windows).
