Hemak Suites

Central Business District Nairobi|0.53km from Maasai Market
I stayed at Hemak Suites for 2 nights, and overall the place & service is ok. The hotel building is in a very busy part of the city, which doesn’t seem too safe, and the surrounding area does get quite noisy, esp. at night. The reception is on the 4th floor and the restaurant is on the 7th floor of the building. The room I stayed in on the 5th floor was ok. It was clean, & the bed was comfortable enough. However, the bathroom is quite small, & it is open as there is no door. Once you enter the door to the room, the bathroom sink is to the right, then there’s the toilet & shower, but there is no door or shower curtain that separates it from the room. It’s probably ok if you’re solo in the room, but maybe not so much for two people. At night, I could hear loud music from the nearby bars in the area & on the 2nd night, I awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of loud music. But then, there was a power outage so the music stopped but then around 3am the circuit breaker in my room made a loud buzzing sound that had me worried. Needless to say, I couldn’t go back to sleep. The buzzing kept on all morning until the time I left, all the lights were flickering, and of course, the elevator didn’t work since there was no power. I got my stuff ready & left the room, and with little sleep, left the hotel at 6am to head for my Maasai Mara safari. I did notify the front desk about the loud, buzzing breaker in my room & told him that maybe they just need to switch them off with the power out, then check the other rooms. As for the restaurant, the breakfast was good, & they have a good selection of food for lunch & dinner. The staff here was also friendly, as they packed a lunch for me while I visited Nairobi National Park. I would’ve had a better time here if I had gotten some sleep the night before my long drive the next day for my safari, if it wasn’t for the loud, buzzing breaker in the room.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our safari. It is right next to shuttle bus stop off from Arusha. The food in the restaurant is pretty decent with lots of choices and you have everything under one roof including a bar if you want to stay in. There is a lot of noise from partying locally at the weekend. The staff are really helpful and friendly, especially Connie, Joseph, Caroline and all the reception/security staff. They made our stay a lot more enjoyable. Our room was spacious and had twin beds and an on suite toilet and shower. I would stay here again particularly because of the location.

Great service from front desk. They were accommodating to early check-in and slightly late check-out depending on vacancies. Didn't check out the facilities. Breakfast wise was alright. not much varieties though. Anyway we are there to stay in the room. Room is perfectly sized and cozy for us to rest in. Highly recommend to all if you are looking for a hotel in CBD area.

Personally feels pretty good, although the hotel is a bit old, but still very clean, each room is in the form of a suite, a bedroom and a small living room, a comfortable sofa and a small dining table for eating, the layout is reasonable, and more Satisfied is that you can have an extra bed, and it is free, and the price is very high. The family with big children will sleep more comfortably.

Fairmont the Norfolk

Without the service awareness of the five-star hotel, I clearly stated that the room set for the second night was higher than the first night, and the money cost hundreds of dollars, not to say that the two rooms are the same. Since the same, why are the two room types and two price points? I won't choose this brand next time, it's too bad.

Dear Marble Arch Hotel Staff, Hanna & Jan would like to thank you for all the enjoyable stays we had in your hotel over the last 8 months. Your super friendly and hugely helpful staff has made our stays more than excellent. Amongst them but not limited to: manager Immaculate Kamau, the reception team Eva, Feddie and Sam, waiter Alex, room service Charles Mwangi and many others. Every time our taste buds were spoiled with tasteful dishes prepared by chef Charles Mbugua and frequently we enjoyed the lunch buffet. But the cherry on the cake was the hotel awarding us the suite room following our wedding. We have been appreciating it a lot keeping memorable thoughts forever. Thanks so much for your highly professional service! Hope to visit your hotel soon again. Hanna & Jan
