Corner suite No. 1 is on the second floor facing the street trolley line. The trolley passed every 10 minutes during the evening and then periodically throughout the night. When it would pass, it was extremely noisy and would shake and vibrate the walls and windows. This made it very difficult to sleep. We asked to be moved to another room, but the hotel was unable to accommodate. We did not get a good nights sleep or wake up refreshed, which is disappointing considering the price of this hotel.

This place is simply exceptional. For a start, it's beautifully done ... It is like being at home (well, a very classy and extremely friendly home). Our room was elegant and comfortable. The lounge and breakfast room are lovely areas. And then there's the speakeasy, a cosy space for an evening drink where you can surprise people in the bar by appearing through the wall. But what really sets this hotel apart is the experience. All the staff were super friendly and genuinely interested in their guests. They would give recommendations, were keen to hear what we'd been up to, and just enjoyed having a chat. Then there are the little touches like wine & cheese in the evenings, not to mention the cookies. And of course the coffee brought to the room every morning. When you stay here, you're also able to use the facilities at The Barnett across the street. We did use both the gym (in need of some maintenance) and the pool (super crowded by people on day passes) - if you're hovering between the two, absolutely book Maison Metier, it's worth the extra money and you will appreciate the luxury. The only thing to flag is we had a bit of confusion over the bill at the end, I think because we had booked before it was taken on by Hyatt - but nothing a couple of quick calls afterwards couldn't sort out. Location is great too. Close enough to the action, but able to switch off from it too! In summary, I've been fortunate enough to stay in some wonderful hotels all around the world and this is definitely Top 3 for me.

This has been our third stay at this lovely hotel, and we’ll definitely come back again. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the bathrooms are gorgeous! Each stay we have had a great experience with the staff, who are local, friendly, and helpful. The little “speakeasy” entrance to the bar next door is great for a little happy hour cocktail, as is the honor bar in the beautiful lobby lounge. We are former New Orleans residents who visit a couple times a year. We have stayed at a range of hotels over the years, from b and b’s to large chains to rentals. This hotel is our absolute favorite! Great romantic getaway that is walking distance to the CBD and the French Quarter/Canal Street, quick ride share to everything else. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed two nights with our 4 kids (ages 7-13). The corner double room set up worked really well for us. We just had to ask for door stoppers to prop the doors open at night, so the kids could come to us, if needed. The valet service was great. The cheese plate & cookies in the evenings were definitely enjoyed by my kids - lol. My husband and I enjoyed the speakeasy in the evening for a quick drink without having to leave the hotel.

The Central Business District is not some place I usually stay, it most definitely has a lot of a great restaurants and cool bars but somehow I always end up staying in other areas of New Orleans. My stay at Maison de la Luz has made me realize I've probably been making a huge mistake. I loved this hotel! And so did all my friends, we were blown away by the service, the décor, the food and don't even get me started on the cocktails in Bar Marilou! My favorite touch was the morning coffee delivery! We where asked at check in if we wanted coffee in our rooms (which we did) but also warned that they would not be knocking on the door, only leaving it for us to bring in at our leisure. What a wonderful, perfect concept! We asked for it to be delivered at 8am but ended up sleeping in till 8:30 (a bit of a luxury to not worry about an alarm) and opened the door to find a thermos of fresh hot coffee waiting outside! I haven't even mentioned how fab the staff is! And now I'm adducted to evening charcuterie and a glass of wine (even after arriving back home). Bottom line, a wonderful hotel I whole heartedly recommend and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We live in New Orleans and stayed here during our wedding weekend. One of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. Devona, thank you for the outstanding hospitality. From the room upgrade to indulging us with every amenity the hotel has to offer, you made us feel like royalty! Hotels are just buildings. The team makes the experience and your leadership took our experience to the next level!
