The only thing is that the Crown Hotel was booked on Trip.com before, but before departure, I was told that the name was changed and it was not the Crown at all. … if your most important selection criteria is being close to the airport, which is less than a ten minute drive away (even considering the construction going on all around that area). Otherwise, we would not recommend this hotel as all other aspects of our experience here sub par. For example: 1. This hotel is in bad need of a renovation. Our room had dated furniture, broken fixtures, sloppy caulking, and peeling paint. 2. Amenities like in-room coffee, soap, shampoo, and conditioner were bottom-shelf Walmart quality, which only shocked given the high cost of our one-night stay. 3. Hot breakfast was also of the cheapest quality: not sure if whether the “sausage” contained much meat, and if it did what kind of meat it was. We finished the powdered eggs and toast, but little else. 4. Talking on the phone to her pals, the night shift front desk clerk couldn’t manage to look directly at us or offer a single smile when we checked-in. She also didn’t offer us bed-linen for the sleep sofa, despite seeing three of us for a room with only one bed. We had to return to the front desk to beg for it. The only things making this a 3, and not a 2 star rating, was the comfortable bed and proximity to the airport.

This is a hidden jew of New Orleans especially if your child is a patient at the Children's hospital. We booked this place because of it being close to Children's hospital, our son was having a operation there. We were given a medical discount, the room was clean and very roomy, each room had a balcony. The only thing that I didn't care for was that the parking lot was across the street but you can unload and load bags right outside the front door too. Ice machine was located on the 5th floor, laundry is on the 9th floor. They have a pool, we didn't use it but it looked very clean. The evening our son was released from the hospital the hotel had a wheel chair that we borrowed to get our son to our room and the next morning we used it to him into our car to go home. The receptionist was very nice, I had a bag of stuff I was carrying while trying to push the wheelchair it spilled on the lobby floor and she got me a trash bag to reload my things. This hotel doesn't serve breakfast but they have a mini store like area where you can purchase snacks and food to eat in your room. Oh I wanted to mention that the biggest surprise at this hotel was the real dishes and silverware located in our room along with a microwave and mini fridge. Thank you so much for this! It was so nice to be able to eat in our room after being at the hospital for 12+ hrs worrying about our child, he rested in bed while we made a small meal. It rained that evening and we were able to open the curtains and sliding door to listen to the rain. Internet also worked good at this hotel. We also saw security several times in the parking lot. Thank you Alder for making our stay comfortable and we know exactly where to stay on our next visit to New Orleans.

stayed here twice in 2 weeks for business. First room had 2 beds as I was traveling with someone. 2nd time was just a single bed for a few nights. Both stays I enjoyed very much! There is a nice outdoor fenced area just to soak in the atmosphere of the neighborhood. The beds were super comfortable and I love that they had sooo many pillows on them! I showered at different times throughout the day and there was no issues with the water pressure or hot water. There is a coffee lounge bar right down stairs and they also have live sports on TV. This hotel offers every amenity that you might need- I hope to be back! Thank you Marsh hotel!

I stayed at this hotel about 2 weeks ago just as COVID-19 restrictions were beginning to ease. I was still quite worried about cleanliness and social distancing. Fortunately, my concerns were quickly put to rest upon arriving at this hotel. The whole hotel seems to have been freshly renovated. It even has the faint smell of fresh paint & cleanser. The hotel is modest and tidy. My room seemed as if I were perhaps the first person to stay in it post-renovation. I was relived and relaxed in my room. I opted to take an Uber to the French Quarter two miles down the road. It cost me exactly $8 although there is apparently a bus right next to the hotel that would have taken me for $1.25. It's a cheap, clean, freshly renovated, no thrills sorta place which was perfect for me. I didn't spend an abundance of time in my room because I was too busy exploring the fabulous city
