"“It’s a truly authentic Japanese-style stay! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciated the unique architecture. Highly recommended — though do note that the location can be a bit tricky to find. Thankfully, the host was very responsive and helpful, so you’ll be guided to the right place eventually. Don’t miss out on the breakfast — pre-order it! The café’s ambience in the morning was such a lovely surprise. I absolutely loved it.”"
"The hotel is great, very clean, the staff are very nice. I stayed at the suite which was a very big room and had a great view.
The lounge was ok but I prefer less unhealthy snacks and more fruits/ healthy stuff in it.
The pool was not heated and it was a bit cold.
Also the last night my room had noises all night long. Like metal to metal noises which cause me not to sleep all night long.
The staff were nice but didn’t really compensate for this horrible night I had no sleep at all besides promising to a late check out or upgrade next time I book. Which is more of a promotion than a real compensation. Too bad that left a bit a bitter taste to a nice stay so far. I’m in Taipei once or twice a year and I wish they were more attentive to my complaint and lack of sleep."
"The view from the room showcases Jiufen's most iconic mountain and sea landscape, which is absolutely stunning and incredibly enjoyable.
However, be aware that reaching the guesthouse involves a lot of stair climbing. If you walk from the Jiufen Police Station bus stop, you'll encounter *many* stairs. And if you're coming down from the A-Mei Tea House path, it's an *absolute ton* of stairs!
Guests with heavy luggage or elderly travelers should definitely take this into consideration. For younger, more agile guests, it's certainly no issue at all.
Aside from the stairs, I think it's fantastic! :)"
"Overall, it was a comfortable stay. There are convenience stores both across from and behind the hotel, so you don't have to worry about going hungry in the middle of the night. If you don't eat the hotel's breakfast, there are also delicious vermicelli and breakfast shops nearby in the mornings. The food there is absolutely amazing!"
"Location is outstanding, very close to 7-11, however as many many other people have notes it's hard to find. The address given (number 28) is wrong. As you go up the street, the last houses are numbered 19-24 and then there's nothing but 300m of shrines. I know, I walked past them 3 times making sure I hadn't missed 28. The actual hotel is number 5-2. If you use that, Google maps finds it, what a surprise. Actually there is a 28 halfway down at the bottom, but it's a house not a hotel. Anyway, the receptionist blamed Google maps for getting me to the wrong place and when I pointed out the address on the booking information was wrong, she just shrugged and said that's a problem for management.
Next, you have to change into slippers at the entrance. They were too small so only my toes fit in, and carrying my suitcase up 2 flights of stairs in ill-fitting slippers is a safety hazard. Even worse when leaving. The guy watched me struggle the whole time too.
The room itself was weird. It's a strange Japanese style with a raised floor and then no bedframe, just a mattress. There was quite a bit of wasted space in the room and the bathroom was a wet room instead of separate shower and toilet, just like you get in the tiny cramped hotel rooms. So for an hour or two after having a shower, going to the toilet means you get wet feet or wear the slippers and get the room floor wet. When there's space wasted in the room, that could have been used to make a shower too, this is stupid.
The place was clean, although there were renovations being done in the common room where you change into slippers most of the days.
No water etc provided, but there were a few snacks left in the kitchen, and there was a hot water dispenser in the kitchen too. This was really useful as there's nowhere close to eat after 7pm, so you have to buy instant noodles from 7-11.
Room was quiet and curtains were good, so easy to sleep well. No light switch within reach of the bed though, so you have to get to the bed in complete darkness."
"The MRT is a 5-minute walk away (if you don't have luggage). If you do, be prepared for an uphill climb. Overall, the location is definitely convenient for tourists like me. The security guards at the entrance/exit are attentive, always confirming room numbers and offering services, which made me feel very safe and well-cared for. The room was incredibly spacious, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable – perfect for a good night's rest. There's even a bathtub and a jacuzzi for a relaxing soak! Unlimited mineral water is available, along with complimentary instant noodles and biscuits. The hotel also gives out souvenir biscuits (one pack of local specialty biscuits for each night of your stay). Breakfast was decent too! It's a popular spot, suitable for families, seniors, kids, and couples. The soundproofing is excellent! All in all, I had a great and very comfortable experience. The only minor drawback is that the hotel building and facilities are a bit old, but the excellent service more than makes up for it! Full marks! There's also a washing machine and dryer available – just pay 30 NTD for detergent and you're good to go."
"Very clean, good soundproofing, big bed, very comfortable to sleep in, very convenient to shops, close to MRT and bus stations, delicious breakfast, very satisfactory accommodation experience, will choose to stay here again if there is a chance"
"The ground floor lobby offers a coffee shop-like ambiance, understated yet inviting, a refreshing departure from typical hotel decor. The rooms are also designed for a truly relaxing experience. The breakfast spread is plentiful, varied, and delicious, making you genuinely look forward to waking up early. The thoughtful laundry facilities are a fantastic amenity, saving guests from a mountain of dirty clothes upon returning home. Additionally, there's a fitness area to help you maintain your workout routine. Most importantly, every single staff member, from the front desk to housekeeping, is incredibly friendly and dedicated, ensuring every guest can rest and sleep soundly."
"The hotel is very conveniently located- near bus stops and a short walk away from the MRT Sanchong Station.
The hotel staff are accommodating and very helpful. The building is dated but well-maintained.
If I go back to Taiwan, will probably stay in this hotel again. PIt has become home in the week that I stayed there."
"location of the hotel was great! walking distance to MRT station. they've disconnected all the jacuzzis but the steam room is still operational and the jacuzzi tub can still be used as an extra large bath tub, which is more than enough space for a young child + grown adult. best hack is to buy bath bombs from the 7-11 just opposite the hotel to use in the bath tub. room is super clean and well maintained. the laundry room is free for use. there's good supper options available: Ba Fang Yun Ji Dumpling(highly recommend the dumplings), and 好食雞雞肉飯(chicken rice is cheap and good)"

Excellent
PPBBA cute and nice bed-and-breakfast with multiple locations located in Jiufen. It is HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you CONTACT the HOTEL BEFORE ARRIVAL as the bed-and-breakfast has multiple locations and it’s hard to find them without proper direction. The streets of this town are very windy as it’s on a mountain so it’s even hard for taxi drivers to find hotel locations.
After I contacted the hotel, they were able to pick me up from a random spot that I got lost and direct me to my room. The room was very nice, very big, clean and located very close to the old street about a five minute walk up some stairs and also very close to family mart and 7-Eleven for all your needs.
Only thing is I would like if the hotel could provide more towels, hand towels, face towels would be nice. They only provided two full body towels, but other than that great place highly recommended because of its convenience in the area and the friendliness of their staff who also spoke English. 😊 they also provided a nice breakfast that was delivered to your room whenever you wanted in the morning.
They are also super great at providing a map of the town and giving you all the tips for your stay and telling you where to eat and the hours of these places.
SSglobangLove the vibes! It’s spacious and comfortable, able to accommodate 4 adults! Owner will msg you via WhatsApp on the day for check-in as they will need to know your mode of transportation to Jiufen. They will pick you up personally on the day of arrival to advise you the direction of their place.
Do note that some of their rooms are not connected together. For my case, I’ve booked 2 rooms. My room and my mom’s room is about 5 mins walk. Might be an hassle if you are traveling with your family. It wasn’t an issue for me as we’re able-bodied. This is definitely not for everyone especially if you planned to bring pram and many luggages. Please travel light here.. the stairs to your room are uneven , wet and steep.
Owner provides simple breakfast and deliver to you in the morning. Very warming..
PPablo YoonCozy bed and breakfast with very nice view room (sea view) very well located, just 5 min away walking distance to jiufen old street. The owners are very kind and were very helpful giving us many information of things to do nearby. From the first time they texted us to know our arrival time to meet us where the bus dropped us. I would really like to recommend this place. Everyone that stay the night in Jiufen must stay in this place. Thank you very much guys for your hospitality.
張張毛毛Let me start with the advantages. Guests can use the underground parking lot for free. The double room is large, the bed is very comfortable, there are many TV channels, and there are welcome snacks.
The downside is that the air conditioning in the room had problems when we checked in. It was very cold, and the service staff couldn't handle it. They pushed the electric heater over, but it didn't work very well. And because we had children living with us, we were afraid they might get burned, so we returned it after using it once. We reported the situation to the service staff again and asked to change rooms. The service staff agreed to change rooms, but actually said that it might still be just as cold. I personally think that this way of expression is not appropriate, so we asked that the air conditioning in the changed room must be normal. Finally, after the service staff accompanied us to confirm that there was no problem with the changed room, we changed rooms. Everything returned to normal and we could relax and rest.
TThelifeofRileyThe hotel has wonderful views over the bay, it’s at a lot of steep stairs so come prepared for that but the staff were helpful and the stay was very pleasant.
LLauren Y.Location of our villa is just at the beach. Openn the door and we are at the beach! Only has private hot spring tub in the villa. Comes with games room, arcade, public hot spring pool, table tennis etc. Only dissatisfaction is the smoke smell left in the room from previous occupants.
Wish they priorise Toiletries or at least hand soap.
EES03Very strategic location just beside MRT DingXi station, with nearby 10 minutes walking distance to a large night market, namely LeHua Night Market. There's also 7-11, Family Mart, and McDonald just beside the hostel.
The room is clean, and each bed/person has its own locker in the room.
The toilet is clean, and they have separated the wet and dry area for the convenience of changing clothes in the dry area.
There's also shampoo, liquid bath, and hairdryer provided, while towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, and slippers can be purchased separately.
The breakfast is included as well for each morning with 5 options available to choose from.
They do provide luggage storage services after check out, so you won't need to drag your luggage around.
Overall, it is a great experience, and would come back again next time.
IIsabelWe had a pleasant and cozy stay at this B&B in Jiufen. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop...not far, but just lots of stairs to get there. The B&B owner was friendly and accommodating. We arrived early in the morning before check-in time and called to ask if we could leave our luggage. She answered promptly and kindly allowed us to do so. It takes about a 15-minute walk to Jiufen Old Street.
The room we stayed in was on the second floor. It was clean and decorated in a Moomin theme. It had two futon beds, a heater (total lifesaver on cold nights), a coffee machine with capsules (though the coffee could be better), an electric kettle, green tea (much better than the coffee), towels, and other amenities. The only downside was that we couldn’t get the TV to work. The private bathroom was located on the first floor, which wasn’t very convenient but manageable. The room did get a bit stuffy at times, but on the bright side, there was a balcony where we could open the windows, enjoy the fresh air, and even sit outside with a cup of tea while taking in the morning view.
Overall, it was a lovely place to stay.
GGuest UserGiven the price that we pay, the quality of the stay was satisfactory. The room was clean, and having no window was expected as stated in the listing. The inly complaint was about the bathroom/restroom: the toilet and the shower were not fully separated, so it was really hard to keep the toilet area dry. Also, the bath/restroom has no door; some people may like that but it is not for everyone.
MMJ98Cleanliness - 4/5. The room was clean. What I saw from a few other reviews about this hotel that rated it low for cleanliness was in regards to complaints about the maintenance of the room. Yes, there were some areas of the room that required attention, like re-grouting the bathroom or fixing some wall paper and paint on the walls. However, these things do not make the room dirty. There were no dirty marks and there was no dust in the room. The eating could be 5/5 if those aesthetic issues were fixed but I believe the complaints of other guests about the room to be unwarranted.
Location - The location is excellent, only a short walk to the old street and the view from the property speaks for itself.
Service - The owner was very friendly and explained everything to us clearly. He provided us with a tour of the museum and he was very knowledgeable. He helped us with everything we needed, such as providinh us with an additional towel.
Amenities - There is a water fountain for both hot and cold water for use by all guests. In the room there are some tea bags and cups too. The hotel also provided us with toothbrushes and toothpaste.
