Hotels Near Kawaji Hydrangea Park in Nikko

I stayed in a nice room overlooking the Kinugawa River. The room was large and the heating worked well. The bathroom in my room was no longer in use, so I used the large public bath, but unfortunately the temperature of the water was too cold. Also, it was a real shame that the public bath was only open from evening until night, so I couldn't take a bath in the morning. Currently, it is only possible to stay overnight without meals and no meals are provided, but there is a 24-hour convenience store nearby, making it convenient for families to travel cheaply. There is also a refrigerator in the room, which is helpful. Unfortunately, there are no affordable restaurants nearby. Considering the cost-effectiveness, I think it is suitable for a family trip.

I went with 4 family members. It was cheap for half board per night, so I was a little worried, but I was worried. The room had the next room like a mahjong room. It was a room that I had been to a company on a employee trip around the Showa era. It was old, but there was no problem with cleaning, and the mountain stream was overlooked and the view was good. The meal is buffet style. Alcohol is an extra charge, and there is an all-you-can-drink plan for 60 or 90 minutes, and it is better for those who say that it is alcohol. I had a 90-minute all-you-can-drink plan and enjoyed eating for 90 minutes. There were quite a few types of dinner and breakfast, and I enjoyed various things according to my taste. Maybe it was due to the time, but the meal and the hot springs were soaked that I was able to relax.

It is about 5 minutes drive from Kinugawa JR Station. It is suitable for self-driving travel. Guests have hot spring discounts. Each room only needs 450 yen. The hot spring environment is good. The Japanese-style room has a good view and the decoration is relatively new. The staff is warm and courteous, willing to help provide information on eating, drinking and playing, and are very useful. The izakaya introduced is delicious, affordable, and open until 11 pm.

Room is huge compared to most Japanese hotel rooms. Modern styling, particularly loved the layout of the room. Tv was a great size and quality but disappointedly didn’t have any smart tv apps you can log into. It does have movie and other satellite channels. Bed was huge and super comfortable, 2 pillows on each side and a good weight duvet. We stayed for 2 nights and loved our stay.

Arrived at Hotel and parked the rental car in the car park for free. Staff were very efficient and check in was very quick. Japan is still very Covid conscious and masks are worn everywhere. We were advised that there were were facilities for making Tea/ coffee in the room and that we should take any provisions required (for free) from the table arranged in the lobby i.e. tea / coffee / toothbrushes..etc. Room was lovely and spacious with a comfortable bed and lovely en-suite- lovely deep bath (shower fixings would be low for taller individuals). They had an evening bar and Onsen (natural hot water spring separate for males and females). They had a restaurant that provided an extensive buffet menu for breakfast - very tasty, and they had a select menu for the evenings and what we tried was very tasty also. The staff in the Hotel and restaurant were most friendly and encouraged me when I attempted some Japanese words. Took the hotel pick up shuttle at the Nikko JR station, it took about 5 minutes to reach the hotel. There are quite a number of shops and restaurants nearby the hotel. The famous Toshogu which is the tomb of Tokugawa Ieyasuis located within 20 minutes with walk, and the Shinkyo bridge is even closer. The hotel is hiding up hill at the end of the main onsen street with not many rooms. Check in was smooth, we were offered a hot tea while waiting in the lobby lounge. We booked a rather big room located at the end of the hallway, with separate living room and bedroom. The bedroom has the western style beds and the massage lounger. The public bath is located further down the way through an outdoor walkway. The public bath and outdoor bath is relatively small but there are not many people using it. We are having the breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The serving of yuba is interesting, you are given the food material and the stove to cook for yourself and served hot. We have the luxury dinner on the second night so we were seated inside a private room overlooking the garden. The food is sumptuous and well worth the money. There are quite many foreign customers patronizing the hotel during the period.

My wife and I booked the Nikko Station Hotel II for April 13 - 15 as a non refundable reservation. This week, the US State Dept issued a Level 4 warning for all US citizens to avoid international travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In spite of their normal policy, the Nikko Station Hotel II made an exception due to the COVID-19 pandemic and issued a full refund. We will reschedule our trip to Japan after the pandemic passes and WILL DEFINITELY rebook at the Nikko Station Hotel II, as they have shown excellent customer service in a difficult time!

Last September, I had dinner at Nikko Jingu and had a good impression. This time, I booked a newly renovated room in the new building with breakfast and dinner. The room is 31 square meters, with high ceilings, facing the sun, and has a large space. The decoration style is elegant and retro. The room has two defects: one is the noise. The air conditioner is loud, the windows are not soundproof at all, and the traffic outside is very loud. I have to wear earplugs or Apple earplugs to listen to music in the room, otherwise I can't fall asleep and stay in the room. The second is that the shower stands in the bathtub, and there is a small dirty piece of the shower curtain. This restaurant does not have a large bathroom, so you can only take a shower in the room. The window leaks a little light. The crab cakes and Jingu-style boiled fish for dinner are very unpalatable, and the ice cream in the dessert is very good. In terms of service, some of the restaurant waiters are excellent and some are average. They leave without saying goodbye. The quality of food and service is not as good as the low-priced Chuzenji Jingu. I observed that there are only 3 rooms in the new building that are not noisy, but there is a row of rooms near the courtyard in the main building. The location can walk to the temples of Shinkyo and Toshogu. There is a shuttle bus, see Figure 1. Jingu is a long-established hotel. I hope it will get better and better. I will stay here again when I come to Nikko.

Having only just arrived a few days earlier in Japan - this was our first experience of a ryokan . We didn’t know what to expect but it turned out to be a fantastic experience. From choosing our own Kimono to wear around the hotel to our beautiful spacious room with wonderful views of the autumn trees behind, every detail had been thought about. The onsen was wonderful with a pool. Inside and outside. We had a private dining room where we were served the most incredible meals in beautiful Japanese ceramics of all kinds of shapes and sizes. We were attended to by the Chun, a young Vietnamese girl who was just charming, she couldn’t do enough for us and tried so hard with her English - she really made our stay.. this ryokan is also right opposite the shrines , so its a great location and right on the bus route for getting further into the hills. We really recommend this place.

Really nice room with an epic view of the lake and enough space for everything. Meals are wonderful and abundant and a seasonal selection each day Perfect place to stay if you are planning to explore okunikko area or to cycle around the lake, there are also restaurants nearby for lunch. The public bath is very pleasant with an outdoor spring to soak in while enjoying an open sky. Found out there was a shuttle bus back to tobu-nikko station setting off at 11am from the hotel after speaking to a kind staff member, Diane. Do make reservations for the shuttle beforehand at the reception if you plan to take this as well. Rental bikes available at the Nikko natural history museum which is a 10min walk from the hotel
