We arrived at one o'clock in the middle of the night. The front desk smoked at the entrance of the hotel and gave us the wrong room type. We had to change the room again, and it was a room at the entrance of the stairs that everyone must pass. The new room has poor sound insulation, the facilities are very old, the quilt core is lumpy like an old-fashioned cotton quilt, and the decoration style is even a bit scary. The scariest thing was that the bathroom only had a bathtub and no shower. We had to squat in the bathtub and hold up the shower head to take a shower, and the water pressure was extremely low. The only good thing is that the scenery outside the hotel is good, with a large lawn and garden for walking. But even so, I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel

The room is very large and has an aristocratic style, but there is no heating, so it is very cold. Maybe the house has historical value, so the maintenance fee should be quite high. It can only be used to take care of the room, but the garden is so big and the roses are so beautiful.

Nice country house hotel. We stayed in room 401 - which is quite a hike with 2x large suitcases... would have been nice if they had given us directions to drive there instead. Other than that, nice place, nice staff zero complaints.

My recent stay at Ringwood Hall in Chesterfield was, unfortunately, an absolute disappointment from start to finish. The hotel suffered from poor communication and a noticeable lack of front-of-house staff. For the price, the experience was nowhere near acceptable, with glaringly poor customer service and a complete lack of attention to detail. One of the most misleading aspects was the so-called "all-inclusive" package. The menu was dismal, with very few options and a steak priced at £30 that was incredibly chewy and unpleasant. Worse still, the menu didn’t change, so the same underwhelming choices were all that was offered. The restaurant staff were clearly overworked, with many of them appearing very young and inexperienced. Although they tried their best, they were simply not equipped to handle the demands of discerning guests. Cleanliness was another major issue. I found old wax earplugs on the floor in my room upon arrival, and despite room service coming in, they were still there afterward. That’s just unacceptable for any hotel, especially one that markets itself as a quality establishment. On top of that, the room itself was freezing cold, and the iron and hairdryer provided were outdated and barely functional. While the property might have a unique charm, the lack of modern facilities was inexcusable. I also experienced an unacceptable delay at dinner. I had booked a table for 6 pm, but wasn’t served until 7:30 pm, with little to no explanation or apology from the staff. All in all, Ringwood Hall fell far below even basic expectations. I would not stay here again and certainly do not recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant or professional experience.

I have waited to put this review on as I would have liked some form of correspondence from management but as this has not happened I wish to share our experience and in overall summary shambles of managing both fire safety and personal safety risks. We attended on the 7th September for my best friends wedding. My review relates to an incident at the evening reception that was abismally managed. We were sat in the room where the evening buffet was to be laid out later in the evening. Myself and my little girl were walking past the food warmer, which had no caution hot sign, no light on to indicate it was switched on and no food on the warmer. There was no sign or mortification by staff members that this was switched on. My little girl who is five put her hand out to the side touched the warmer briefly and instantly pulled it away. She started crying and said she’d burnt her hand. I immediately got her hand under running cold water and wrapped her hand in a cold serviette. I went to the reception and informed them that she had burnt her hand, I was told they would get someone to come to us. We then had a young staff member question us and tell us that the appliance was not switched on. The appliance was plugged into a daisy chain of extensions to also add further safety risks. The staff member after being asked to come to the room to see for her self then said the appliance was only switched on 10minutes ago. All the while the dismissal was ongoing and no acknowledgment of their fault my daughter was still crying in pain. I continued to put cold water on the area. At no point did any member of staff switch off the appliance. Another staff member came and said we can’t find a burns kit or first aid and it might be in the other part of the hotel. 20-30minutes after initially informing them of the burn they finally gave us a burns kit. No apology was ever given for their wrong doing. No accident details were logged or taken. I have emailed twice asking for an urgent reply and my emails have gone unanswered. Due to my shock at the clear lack of following appropriate policies and procedures I made my concerns known to Derbyshire fire and safety team and trading standards. Never have I attended somewhere where there is a clear lack of acknowledgment of wrongdoing and also never offering an apology to a little girl to check that she was ok. She has blistered her hand and it spoilt the remaining of the evening for us as a family where we should have been able to enjoy the celebrations. I for one will not be returning here and I hope my complaints to the relevant parties have headed changes to your procedures and fire prevention precautions.

I think I could happily say this is the worst experience booking, sleeping, and dining that I have ever had. So much so that I had to make a Trip Adviser account to let the people know of my experience from hell! Let's start with why I was there... I was to attend my best friends wedding in mid-August where I was the best man. I booked at the start of July and used the wedding code (which I thought would grant a discount, but it does not). I like to ring my bookings a week in advance just to confirm everything, luckily I did because whoever booked me in originally had booked me in for mid-July (even though I gave them the wedding code, so even if I got the date wrong, [which I know I didn't because I booked Casa Hotel for the night previous to the Ringwood Hall booking, just before I called Ringwood, and Casa got the dates right], they should have double checked the dates!) So after the receptionist 'umming and ahring' wondering if they had a room available for me, my partner and our little girl, they said they managed to get us booked in, with a 'free upgrade'. Which was more like a downgrade. I'll get to that later... So the booking got sorted, we got there the day, and I must say, the venue is gorgeous, 10/10 for a beautifully rustic wedding venue; we were enamoured by the beauty of the place. We walked into the reception, there was a bit of a queue, but nothing too bad and was greeted with a smile by the receptionist, she was willing to help, which was great, however, the second receptionist who was too busy glanced at us, made eye contact, and blanked us, which I thought was a bit rude considering she made eye contact with us, probably just nitpicking because of the awful experience but it's these little things that matter. I would like to say the ceremony was marvellous. Oliver, who works at Ringwood, was amazing, such an incredible guy, and I have all the time in the world for him! I made sure everything wedding went smoothly, which it did, and I was on hand for any help. At the wedding bar, most of the staff just seemed they didn't want to be there, so my only guess is management doesn't know how to manage people properly because if staff aren't enjoying their work, it's usually down to the management being of poor character. I would make a notable mention of a guy called Clifton (I think it was). When he served me and others, he always had a smile. Now we get onto the 'upgraded room', the Devonshire Suite... It was about 392 nautical miles away from the main venue, across the terrain of gravel tsunami... the walk when sober was a challenge for my partner in heels, let alone when we were slightly inebriated. Sadly, we could hear the room upstairs walking about, which we were non too fond of. The suite itself had a nice rustic feel, a bit plain in places but not terrible. It has basic coffee and tea-making facilities. All in all, it wasn't as good as Casa Hotel (and Casa was cheaper). What I can say was great about the Devonshi

What a pleasant stay, my room was full of character and comfortable. The grounds are stunning, very well kept. Service on reception and in the restaurant was polite and helpful. Would easily return, thank you!
