Best Hotels in Obersimmental District, Switzerland

The couple who own and rent the chalet are amazing. Really handful and happy people. I really felt at home as it is a little house guest. Great views and very close to the town! I will definitely come back and I highly recommend it!!!

An old fashioned, not specially nice grand hotel from outside but very nicely refurbished and maintained inside. Service is as expected at this level: courteous and efficient. Our room was not extremely large but very comfortable with excellent bedding and a pleasant balcony. The hall and the bar are somewhat impersonal and uninviting and the few flashing lights behind the pianist were certainly unable to help for this. The spa (I'm talking about the sauna area not the swimming pool with kids that we didn't use) looks pretty new and is very well made. However it is quite small and the - very pleasant - relaxation area, takes a good part of it. This leaves not much surface for the rest and on top of that the hotel unfortunately chose to split it in two zones (thus removing precious square meters for a very small and unnecessary textile area). The result is that saunas are mostly extremely small. A real pity given the potential of the place. The spa is conveniently accessible the day of departure which is very good. But why opening half of it 3 hours after the other?? This is disappointing and incomprehensible! Excellent breakfast, free outside parking. Wifi a bit weak in some areas but otherwise ok. And a of course, as we are in Switzerland, a few pettiness that are always surprising when you spend several hundreds franc a night in a 5* resort... like the inside parking more expensive in winter (!) or the second egg in the eggs Benedict for 4.50 extra (!!)... come on...

The hotel is in a small town, the surrounding environment is superb, there are many foreigners coming to climb the mountain, there is a cable car to go up the mountain at the foot of the mountain, you can go back and forth, you can also go hiking, the door and the opposite are the hotel's free parking lot, breakfast is very rich, it is us The most expensive breakfast in Europe, the restaurant owner is very domineering, saying that several houses are her, huh, huh, show off the rich.

Absolutely stunning place. The only downside was that I was here for a conference and despite touring the place, didn't get to try the pool, spa and the awesome infrastructure (bike, backpack and other equipment loan, guided walks, etc). The setting is absolutely stunning and everything from the cool lobby bar area to the awesome kids lounge is top notch. I'm making plans to come back with the family: summer or winter, it looks like the perfect place for a break.

Das „The Cambrian“ ist ein sehr gut geführtes Haus mit Wellness-Einrichtung in Adelboden. Die Rezeption ist sehr höflich. Man bekommt, und das ist nur noch selten der Fall, sein Hotelzimmer gezeigt und erläutert. Das war sehr angenehm. Das Hotelzimmer (Junior Suite ist Panorama-View) war sehr schön eingerichtet. Bequemes Bett, Sofa mit Wohnzimmertisch, großer Flachbildfernseher, Telefon und grosses Badezimmer mit Dusche, sorgten für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Der Zimmerservice war ebenfalls ausserordentlich freundlich und Rücksichtsvoll. Der Wellnessbereich besteht aus einem Innenpool mit kaltem Wasser und einem Aussenpool mit warmen Wasser. Weiterhin besteht die Möglichkeit zum Sauna Gang in einer Trockensauna bei 85 Grad Celsius sowie einem Dampfbad. Wellness-Angebote wie beispielsweise Massagen sind buchbar und man sollte diese bereits bei Hotelbuchung buchen, da sehr gefragt. Die Damen und Herren im Wellnessbereich erstehen ihr Handwerk und sind ebenfalls sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Kommen wir zum Restaurant und zum Frühstück. Bei Frühstück gibt es wohl alles was man sich wünscht. In einem schönen Ambiente mit Panoramasicht kann man hier sein Frühstück genießen. Aber auch beim Abendessen gibt es nichts zu meckern. Ausgezeichnete Küche und ausgezeichneter Service erwartet hier den Gast. Selbst wenn man vom Menü etwas austauschen möchte, ist dies sofort möglich. Auch hier darf ich die Freundlichkeit und Serviceorientiertheit des Personals hervorheben. Das Personal spricht Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch und Kroatisch. So zumindest habe ich es mitbekommen; aber nicht jeder spricht Deutsch, was allerdings nicht wirklich ein Problem darstellt, da die Anzahl der Servicekräfte herausragend ist. Für PKW´s gibt es kostenpflichtige Parkplätze vor dem Hotel und in der Tiefgarage. 18 CHF pro Nacht zahlt man hier für die Unterbringung des Fahrzeugs. Auch Hunde sind willkommen, 35 CHF pro Nacht ist für die Unterbringung des Wau Wau zu zahlen. Dies dürfte in der Tat etwas billiger sein, denn Futter etc ist mitzubringen. Wir hatten ein wunderschönes verlängertes Wochenende und freuen uns bereits jetzt auf unseren nächsten Besuch.

Le Grand Bellevue is a gracious and elegant hotel with a gorgeous backdrop of the surrounding mountain vista - a perfect place to experience the Swiss countryside in the picturesque Saanen area of the Bern canton. The hotel is well located right at the entrance to the main village street which is pedestrian only. Lovely restaurants and shopping boutiques! We stayed for 3 nights in September and absolutely loved this hotel. Our room was delightful and comfortable with a spacious, beautiful bathroom. Spectacular views can be enjoyed from any hotel in Gstaad, but the best feature of this hotel is definitely the staff, who were all so warm, friendly and professional and go above and beyond to make your stay as wonderful as possible. A special commendation for the ever present and obliging concierge, Olivier, who is a multilingual phenomenon - always ready to help and made arrangements for dinner bookings, taxis, whatever we needed. Right from before our arrival, we were contacted by staff to ensure everything we needed for our stay could be anticipated and any prior arrangements made for us. We can't say how impressed we were with the top quality service, professionalism of the amazing staff at this 5-star, boutique hotel in Gstaad! We hope to return sometime.
