Rostrevor Hotel

The hotel is located on st Lawrence gap which has a few clubs and restaurants. It can get quite noisy at night. If you opt for the sea view apartment you are less likely to hear the club on the opposite side of the road. The room itself is great, there is a kitchen where you can cook your breakfast and make tea, a working tap, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave. The balcony and the view is lovely. Woke up each morning looking out onto the blue water and blue skies! I went with my friend and so we had a double bed each which is very comfortable. The shower is a bit slow with water but if you run it for 3-4 minutes the water will get warm. We didn’t opt for the breakfast so cannot comment on what the food is like. Overall positive, my only complaint is beware when ordering taxi they quote in US dollars and not Barbadian dollars. The female receptionist misled me despite me asking her twice is the price quoted Barbadian dollar and she said yes. Then when we finished the taxi ride we were told it was in US dollar and not Barbadian dollars. I think that is a fundamental error by the receptionist and cost me unnecessarily. For that the hotel did not deserve a 5 star. In terms of location it is good but expect noise as you are directly opposite a nightclub called halo that is very noisy at the weekends especially the dj and his microphone shouting into it. The island is very small so everything is not far. It is worth hiring a car to get around the island otherwise the taxi fare will be expensive. A taxi fare from at Lawrence gap to the north of the island would cost you 120 Barbadian dollars one way. The hotel has a nice outdoor swimming pool and private chill out area and a restaurant to order drinks. Would I stay here again? Yes I think i would stay here again.
Bougainvillea Barbados

A really nice hotel. The staff are all very polite and courteous and the accommodation is very good. They cannot do enough for you when at the beach, if they see you have no shade they bring out an umbrella. They often bring around cold face clothes to cool you down and sometimes even a tray of Jell-O shots. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. The on site restaurant is very good. They go above and beyond to address any concerns raised. Had an issue with something and they did everything they could to address the situation and contacted us personally to apologize, really appreciate the response from customer services. Thing’s have definitely improved. A sign of a good hotel is when they listen to their guests and try to help. Thank you. The hotel is a little isolated with not many restaurants around and it is better to rent a car for a few days or use public transport but it’s a beautiful location on a wonderful beach. St Lawrence Gap and Oistins are about 15 - 20 minute walk away if you want to visit bars, other restaurants and join in the Friday night Fish Fry at Oistins. Also just a short walk to the main road where you can catch a bus and there are taxis at the hotel of you need one. Overall it’s a great place to stay. Would definitely visit again.
Barbados Beach Club Resort - All Inclusive

Currently staying at Barbados beach club and to be quite frank I wish we wasn’t. We arrived off a long flight to the hotel where we wasn’t even treated with a welcome drink let alone a smile. After a third attempt to pay the holiday tax it finally went through, not sure if the issues was my card or the receptionist nails that were too long to operate the touch screen on the card device. We were then told here’s your room number bye. No offer of assistance in finding our room or any offer with help with our long haul cases. GREAT start. Long story short. Rubbish showers that are so old, the nozzle sprays in all sorts of directions. The showers take an age to get warm then when they finally do it switches to cold water. Scolding hot or freezing. No inbetween. The plug hole has no guard and leaves a golf ball size gap risking losing earrings, contact lenses and any Items that may come loose when washing. Today a waitress/manager with brown glasses (only staff member without a name badge) and a light blue top muttering and shouting to herself at the drinks table about the mess guests make or how spoons haven’t been put right. Not what I want to listen to while I eat my breakfast. Breakfast lunch and dinner served in the same restaurant - tedious. 1 bar that has one member of staff serving and at night is a nightmare as he also needs to collect the glasses clean them and serve. Poor Shaun. Lack of choice on the food department. Thankfully the Gap is a short walk away where you can get decent food and not go hungry. Be prepared everything comes in a plastic cup, you are not even able to get a glass for wine with meals. It is shocking. That said the wine is rank, I’ve had better £3 bottles from Tescos. The pool looks filthy and is tiny. The hotel overall is just disappointing. We came with low expectations of this hotel following some of the other reviews we had read but the hotel is more diabolical than we could have imagined. Also WiFi is pretty much non existent.
Meridian Inn

This hotel was exactly what we needed. From the beginning the service over the telephone was outstanding. Everyone was super helpful and kind over the phone. A special mention to Graham who arranged our taxi with Colin aka Taximan 246. Colin was right on time and took us safely to and from the airport. He was an amazing driver. We even hired him for other occasions. The staff in general was always wearing a smile and let me tell you CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. The rooms were spotless and bed was comfortable. We were right on the Gap which made moving around even easier. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that isn't looking for luxury but is just needing a very warm clean reasonably priced accommodation in Barbados and on the St Lawrence Gap. I Will certainly return. Thank you for having us and I look forward to seeing you again. Xoxo Nicole & Trevor
Infinity on the Beach

Our 4th stay at this small and friendly hotel. Good location right on the excellent Dover Beach. Really was a struggle to walk the 75 yards to the beach!! Excellent position in The Gap with many bars and restaurants within a gentle stroll. Staff all very pleasant and friendly. Mary, Sharon and Camille to mention a few but cannot remember all their names. Rooms are quite basic but kept clean and the beds big and comfortable. Breakfasts and lunches were always good and served fairly promptly. Happy hours good but more selection would be nicer. We have always been on the Ocean side although the poolside of the hotel offers a nice serene area to completely relax around the pool. Shame no bar there however. For the money and how much time you actually spend in your room this is very good value. The hotel is beginning to look a bit jaded however in places but nothing that a bit of regular maintenance couldn't address. Would not stop us from returning at all in the future.
Butterfly Beach Hotel

What a wonderful hotel! On the beach, nice and small, rooms spacious with plenty of storage and good balcony size, housekeeping every day apart from the hurricane day!stayed with my husband and 16 year old.Staff were just amazing, very friendly, Lea on reception always had a smile and happy to help. Restaurant staff, Lynette, Deborah were just wonderful, very friendly and pleasant. Entertainment at night was ok, we had a half board meal plan, the food was just out of this world, plenty on your plate!Short walk to Oistins, would recommend using the white vans though on a hot day. Transport around the island is great! Public bus will take you to Speightstown for 3.50 bbds. We hired a car and went around the island, breathtaking scenery on some beaches. The hotel staff looked after us so well during hurricane Beryl, made sure we were fed and watered, cannot fault their care and attention to their guests during this. Would highly recommend this hotel and of course Barbados, been to a few Caribbean islands but this one just tops them all! Will most definitely be returning in the future.
