Hotels in Florida Mall, Orlando

I wish I had more nice things to say about our visit to Rosen Shingle Creek. Overall it was a nice stay, but little negatives piled up throughout, resulting in this average review. I brought my family along with me for a very large conference being held at the Orlando Convention Center, and the RSC was an official conference hotel, so many attendees were staying here. PROS . The staff! Overall, wonderful, friendly, engaging and responsive. Shout out to Heather and Mike at the Cat-Tails bar and poolside service. We had an Amazon Fresh order scheduled (there is a small fridge in the room) and the bell stand delivered it within 5 minutes of us requesting it. My mom and niece were also staying at the hotel, and the front desk attendant thoughtfully placed our rooms right next to each other. . Conference management. We had a great conference rate and the acknowledgment of our (significant) presence was thoughtful. Overall, the team was well prepared for several hundred attendees moving around the property. CONS . Rooms NOT that family friendly. I have a real issue with hotel bathroom designs that aren’t accessible for kids. I had to drag the ottoman into the bathroom area so my youngest could reach the sink. A huge leather ottoman in the bathroom is not ideal. . Substandard housekeeping. I asked for laundry bags from our service provider and was told they weren’t available. She pressured us out of our room one day saying she was trying to finish her shift early and upset my niece to the point of tears. Another morning, we had privacy lock and sign on and they were knocking at 8:30 to come in. It all felt very disconnected. . The Food. The biggest disappointment was that a resort this size, and a Universal Studios property, was such a let-down when it came to food. If you have any food allergy whatsoever, don’t stay here. The RSC makes little to no accommodation for food allergy or intolerance, which is very surprising in this day and age. My husband is celiac and other than FRENCH FRIES and VEGETABLES was extremely restricted in his food options. Only one restaurant was able to offer him gluten free bread for a burger. Food allergies are more and more common, it is unreasonable that RSC was lacking in its accommodations. In comparison to Disney properties where almost anything can be accommodated for food allergies, it was a glaring difference. Food options for children were also limited and unhealthy. After three days of eating cereal, French fries, and cardboard pizza, my kids were desperate for a freaking hot dog. None of the seven restaurants offered such a thing, but I was told they were available at the golf course snack stand. So I walk all the way out there to get three hot dogs and they were…sold out of hot dogs. Our Amazon Fresh delivery was a godsend, and there’s a Publix market at the end of the (very long) resort drive. . Universal partner means what?? I come to Orlando 3 times a week for work and I only deal with the red roof next to the Florida mall Jose from front desk is outstanding always going the extra mile for his guest he makes me feel like like family gets me in my room fast and management is amazing josie really has a great attitude and jose energy is amazing night security can be a bit rude I forget his name but he does ok

No extra bed, good breakfast

The hotel is connected to the Florida Mall and has direct access to the inside for easy shopping. The lobby is bright and the room is large. The room rate does not include a $18 service charge per night (including parking, gym, pool access, room mineral water, etc.), excluding breakfast, and Starbucks can be opened at 6 o'clock in the downstairs (there is a $2 discount for in-house guests). There is a huge parking lot at the door and parking is convenient. (There is no public transportation, it is recommended to drive by yourself.) The rooms are fully equipped and slightly old but do not affect the use. The only downside is that the air conditioner is not hot enough, or it may not be open.

The room was clean but smelly and should be an air freshener, but it smelled uncomfortable. It was a bit of a sound near the road at night, but the impact was small. The pillow was a bit strange, and dizzy the next day after sleeping on the first night. The same is true for hotels at this price. starfish.

I really did enjoy my stay it doesn't look like much from the outside but when you go inside it's very well spaced out very clean very reasonable price

We got a room around the back near the barrage that was overflowing. Inside the room at first sight I thought the floor was dirty but it was actually dirty looking. A centipede died in the standing shower and roaches crawling out from behind the toilet to behind the mirror. Air condition chips out sometimes and the room never gets cold. There is a small table and two dirty chairs in the room at two burner built in stove and a full size painted fridge. The bed was clean, but this isn’t somewhere to call home about somewhere to sleep for the night and get out.

Hotel room is a lot; there is a swimming pool; there is free parking; there is a simple breakfast; there is a laundry room, convenient to use The room smells, but the push-and-pull door can be opened and ventilated. The hotel is ten minutes drive from Universal Studios; there is a seafood restaurant around that tastes great; you can find it directly by Google Maps.

Very satisfied, very close to Florida mall, convenient to eat, there is a big supermarket opposite,7-8 minutes from the bus terminal, there is a bus to the airport is very convenient. The hotel is clean, the room is large, there is free coffee, there is a gym pool, and the price is high.
